As one officer said, "it's a juicy one"

The law in this country is ridiculous
That man's life has been turned upside down and they got suspended sentences, when you can blatantly see it hasn't affected them from committing crimes. Absolutely disgusting.

Completely agree. I have no words.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 28/11/2022 22:49

I despair. So what are you supposed to do when someone robs your home? Your home! Where you are supposed to feel safe.

sit back and let them hurt you or your family? Poor Adam really did go into fight mode for his family. A moment of rash behaviour has cost him dear.

unlike those robbing lowlifes who seem to have returned to their crimes. They, and others like them are laughing at our justice system.

no wonder people take the law into their own hands. The law doesn’t apply to the career criminal.

this has made me so angry. And sad, so bloody sad for that poor family.

OneFrenchEgg · 28/11/2022 22:48

@PeloFondo thank you for sharing that, I can see an instinctive response. At some point though, getting in your car , starting the engine and bombing down country lanes after a vulnerable (motorbike) vehicle in the dark - you should stop pretty quickly.
But I accept that this isn't a majority view. I don't think I'm 'right' I just agree with the CPS decision.

I think it's how close the crash happened too... I could have seen me doing the same thing but within a few mins I would have scared myself driving fast, realised it was a terrible idea and stopped
But in those few mins if I had already crashed 🤷🏽‍♀️
It's hard to explain but it is like a total instinct, the same as when someone collapsed in front of me, I instinctively started CPR and blacked everything else out around me

I am absolutely f*cking disgusted with what I have just seen.

Two scallies without a brain cell between them brazenly rock up to his house wearing helmets and carrying crow bars. He sees them and goes out and gives chase in his car. The police admit that he mounted a kerb, blew 2 tyres and clipped the stolen motorbike they were riding.

Both scumbags had a criminal record as long as your arm.

Why were they on the street in the first place?
Why did that investigating policeman say that "you can't take the law into your own home, you have to leave it to the police to investigate and bring to justice". OH THE F*CKING IRONY. The courts did jack shit to put them in jail, and they were on the street free to offend, and their injuries didn't stop them. Plus, my local police said they are no longer attending burgalries, and then gangs came along and ram raided shops and ripped ATM's off the walls.

I feel so sorry for that guy. His life is ruined. Now he is being sued by the 2 scum.

When are these 2 men going to be locked up, plus they need to castrated. One of them has 3 kids. He should not be allowed to breed.

I think we need to lobby the Home Secretary about this injustice.

Next time someone tries to break into your house with crow bars with your small DC inside, just let them because YOU will end up in trouble, not you know...the actual criminals.

This!!!!

StaunchMomma · 28/11/2022 22:53

What do the Police expect to happen when they don't even bother turning up to burglaries and car thefts and communities are being repeatedly targeted?!

People will only put up with so much

CornishTiger · 28/11/2022 22:54

I’m not sure that go fund me is genuine though. Nothing to say it’ll get to the White family.

Really shocked by this case and the prosecution. It’s because Adam tried to be helpful that they got the evidence to convict. I didn’t see a solicitor in the room with him on interview. He should have gone no comment.

mommatoone · 28/11/2022 22:56

That poor family! Im sure lots of people would have done the same in his position. Red mist, and the guy just had this instinct to protect his family.
Absolute pair of scumbags. Those two will just go through life , robbing hard working people and getting away with it because of our shit justice system .

mommatoone · 28/11/2022 23:00

@CornishTiger . I agree, its really shocking. However, he did habe a solictor present in i/v.
I think the thing was that he was being honest at the scene with regards to what happened (recorded on bodycam too), that he didnt have much choice but to reiterate it . Absolute sad state of affairs. I really feel for that family

Georgeskitchen · 28/11/2022 23:07

Just watched this and I'm fucking shame those 2 scumbags are still alive.
It's not often I'm lost for qords but jesus fucking christ on a bike I'm disgusted 🤬🤬

NoPrivateSpy · 28/11/2022 23:09

They tried to break into the garage. Adam said he didn't want them to steal his tools so knew they were targeting the garage. And then presumably they ran off when he disturbed them.

I agree they are scum and I don't blame him for his actions but I still think it was wrong.

FiscalDragQueen · 28/11/2022 23:15

No wonder we are up shit creek with a lawless country when some of you think that someone sticking up for his livelihood and his family is in the wrong, and think that the poor crims must have been abused or neglected.

I highly doubt you would think that if you saw them tapping on your own window with their crow bars.

Krabapple · 28/11/2022 23:15

i thought he was prosecuted for dangerous driving - chasing them and speeding not ramming them as people have said. He lost control due to speeding and clipped them. That’s why it was lowered from GBH.
i don’t agree with capital punishment but in this case those 2 scrotes bring nothing to society. They are Career criminals and the world would be a better place without them.

DillDanding · 28/11/2022 23:18

It was absolutely correct that Adam was charged with his offence. But 22 months was a very harsh sentence, especially when those 2 morons got away without custodial sentences. It’s just not right.

We also were very irritated by the gum chewing.

24 hours In police custody is one of the best things on TV.

longtompot · 28/11/2022 23:20

It just beggars belief! There was a post on here recently where the posters bmw had been stolen, they knew where it was and the police did nothing! His sentence should have been suspended like theirs was, but theirs should have been custodial after being declared fit by drs.

purpleme12 · 28/11/2022 23:22

Just watching now. That man's had people attempt to break into his car 7 times in a year!!

Heaven forbid someone has a different opinion to you. Or tries to explain the jury's verdict.

And no one said the 2 guys were abused and neglected? But as you were.

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 28/11/2022 23:26

Nothing surprises me. We used to live in South Beds and literally as soon as it got dark, the place was crawling with people literally walking about all night trying car doors, garages and houses. Feckin scum.
I feel so sorry for that young man, yes he lost his head but only because he was provoked. Boy has he paid for it.

Greenshake · 28/11/2022 23:32

I work in the Criminal Justice System and I am furious at that outcome. Makes me so angry that words fail me.

UniversalAunt · 29/11/2022 00:01

I enjoy 24hipc immensely.
I have missed a couple of episodes by choice in the past as the subject matter has been too disturbing & it is real life so more acute & painful to watch.

Yet something about this episode has not sat well with me.
The two villains were clear cut, & by their own stupidity & villainy brought about their crash & consequences. That they may sue is beyond words.

Adam’s story as the ‘Everyman’ who was defending his property & family worked up to a point.

As the Snr Police Officer pointed out, the perps has left the scene, taken nothing & we’re on their way. It was Adam’s decision to pursue them based on his belief that the Police would not catch them & hold them accountable - he took the law into his own hands. By his dangerous driving, he could have caused a fatal accident or injury to himself, the villains or as the Police pointed out anyone out on the road or pavement at that time. It was stated that he used his car as a weapon.

So the understandable argument that he saw red mist holds how far? As he chased them as far as he could run? Chased after them on the stolen bike by foot until they evaded him? As far as he got to his car, got the keys out & then followed them?

My impression is that tonight’s episode was heavily edited to make Adam almost heroic. Yet there was an uneasy undertone about him.

That they chose to terminate a pregnancy because they could not afford their lifestyle if he went to prison I found difficult. I’ll defend a woman’s right to choose fiercely, yet sharing the private matter of the termination as part of their story seemed off kilter to me.

Cas112 · 29/11/2022 00:11

The termination thing was weird and yes it was there choice but I don't think it should have been shared as relevant to the programme

But they clearly thought it WAS relevant and central to the narrative.

24 hours in police custody.
fyn · 29/11/2022 00:19

I used to live a few minutes drive from that village - the police asking if there was crime in the area is ridiculous. There was absolutely persistent thefts, hare coursing and assault’s. I’ve never had higher car insurance premiums, even now living in a city!

Fleurdaisy · 29/11/2022 00:35

Stolen bike, stolen car, going with tools to steal, caught on camera wearing balaclavas , no licence, no insurance , records as long as your arm = slap on wrist.
Bloke goes after them, collision while they were all speeding= 22 months.

Bloody disgrace. But it was an easy prosecution for the police so ticks boxes.
