As one officer said, "it's a juicy one"

OP posts:
LizzieSiddal · 28/11/2022 22:13

And the officer in the waistcoat saying people shouldn’t take the law onto their own hands as there’s things that can be done. What a liar. The police don't even come out to the house for a burglary.

Suzi9989 · 28/11/2022 22:16

Absolutely heart breaking, I hope they can move on from this.

Showmethecardis · 28/11/2022 22:16

it's very easy to say he shouldn't have chased them but I know my husband would have done the same

doesn’t make it right. He shouldn’t have chased and smashed into them.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/11/2022 21:58

What a stupid reason for a termination.

I think I missed this part, had to check on DS who was stirring. What was the reason?

happygertie · 28/11/2022 22:18

Bunnyfuller · 28/11/2022 21:43

He’s not a detective. He’s a civilian investigator

What's the difference? I have previously worked in a partner agency role alongside police and not heard of civilian investigator?

FiscalDragQueen · 28/11/2022 22:20

I am absolutely f*cking disgusted with what I have just seen.

Two scallies without a brain cell between them brazenly rock up to his house wearing helmets and carrying crow bars. He sees them and goes out and gives chase in his car. The police admit that he mounted a kerb, blew 2 tyres and clipped the stolen motorbike they were riding.

Both scumbags had a criminal record as long as your arm.

Why were they on the street in the first place?
Why did that investigating policeman say that "you can't take the law into your own home, you have to leave it to the police to investigate and bring to justice". OH THE F*CKING IRONY. The courts did jack shit to put them in jail, and they were on the street free to offend, and their injuries didn't stop them. Plus, my local police said they are no longer attending burgalries, and then gangs came along and ram raided shops and ripped ATM's off the walls.

I feel so sorry for that guy. His life is ruined. Now he is being sued by the 2 scum.

When are these 2 men going to be locked up, plus they need to castrated. One of them has 3 kids. He should not be allowed to breed.

I think we need to lobby the Home Secretary about this injustice.

Next time someone tries to break into your house with crow bars with your small DC inside, just let them because YOU will end up in trouble, not you know...the actual criminals.

hollyjolls · 28/11/2022 22:20

"To be fair I'm at odds with everyone on the thread - I thought he was wrong to go chasing after them*."
*
Yes I agree I also think he was in the wrong. He could of easily killed an innocent person.

NoPrivateSpy · 28/11/2022 22:21

The little shits didn't deserve to die though. Hideous little career thugs that they are.

If their back story had been one of abuse and neglect, we'd all feel a bit differently.

hollyjolls · 28/11/2022 22:18

Adam’s wife terminated a pregnancy because they were very worried how she’d manage to support herself and their existing family if he did go prison, never mind given the added pressure of pregnancy and another child. I think it’s unfair and deeply unkind to judge them for making that decision.

The outcome of that case really boiled my blood. What a disgrace. I hope the family are able to move on from it.

Is anyone saying they deserve to die?
You do reap what you sow though. So had they not decided to rob an innocent man, then that wouldn’t have sparked the chain of events that resulted in their injuries - which I believe is similar to what the judge said.
Also a backstory of neglect and abuse doesn’t automatically mean you’ll turn into a thieving robbing little shit. So no, even with that backstory I have no sympathy for them.
They are utter wastes of space.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/11/2022 22:29

@hollyjolls Nevada they wouldn't be able to maintain their standard of living if he went to prison.

OP posts:
LynneBenfield · 28/11/2022 22:34

@Toddlerteaplease, he boiled it down to that but said that they were worried they’d lose their house and her income couldn’t support the family unit alone etc. That is a pretty big worry, no?

Sidge · 28/11/2022 22:35

And to be honest I think the women that get pregnant with these scrotes need their heads looking at as well.

OneFrenchEgg · 28/11/2022 22:35

I am thinking:

What was he planning when he caught them?
He lost control/rammed them and damaged a pick up that was unrelated to the incident
It's like the farmer who shot the guy as he was leaving- at that point it's vengeance not defence
I suspect an example was made of Adam because the police and CPS don't want to encourage vigilant

Absolutely the men were thugs and career criminals but I don't agree with taking the law into your own hands

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 28/11/2022 22:38

If anyone’s interested the Bedfordshire Police db page is on fire 🔥

FiscalDragQueen · 28/11/2022 22:40

I actually know someone who was broken into and their car keys and then their car was stolen. They saw the whole thing. They ended up speeding and crashed the car and both men died.

Of course, people don't deserve to die for that, but if you are going to roll marbles on the motorway at some point you are going to get hurt, whether that be messing with the wrong person, or being chased down.

What gets me is that they both went straight out on the rob again, even with a brain injury and mashed-up leg. They must be 2 of the thickest people on the planet not to say to themselves that they cheated death, lets's not do that again!

I'm honestly thinking of writing to the home secretary about this. I am so disgusted.

hollyjolls · 28/11/2022 22:41

I've just seen on Facebook someone has already set up a go fund me for the family.

I honestly think it's impulse reaction
Like when there's an accident and people freeze. I'm weirdly calm and start helping
But the night someone threw a firework in my house, I was running down the road after them. There was no thought in my mind beyond "how fucking dare you"
By the time I got to the end of the road I had realised it was a stupid thing to do but in that short time period, it was pure instinct

LizzieSiddal · 28/11/2022 22:42

Do you have a link? I’ll happily donate to them.

Sid077 · 28/11/2022 22:43

I don’t think he should have chased them but I also think he was quite naive to admit to anything at the scene and not go no comment in the interview, if 24 hours has taught me anything it’s a no comment interview is best until you have a strategy.

happygertie · 28/11/2022 22:18

They are literally civilians who investigate crimes… often retired police.

Ineverwannabelikeyou · 28/11/2022 22:46

I watched this too and was absolutely outraged at the verdict. The police wouldn't have done a thing if he'd called them. As for the other two getting off because they were injured, absolute bollocks. Completely and utterly unfair.

OneFrenchEgg · 28/11/2022 22:48

@PeloFondo thank you for sharing that, I can see an instinctive response. At some point though, getting in your car , starting the engine and bombing down country lanes after a vulnerable (motorbike) vehicle in the dark - you should stop pretty quickly.
But I accept that this isn't a majority view. I don't think I'm 'right' I just agree with the CPS decision.

FiscalDragQueen · 28/11/2022 22:48

Please post the link for the fund.

What else can we do? It's unacceptable.

Oh this - a love of True Crime has taught me to lawyer up, go no comment and refuse a polygraph.
