I reckon he would have got off if he hadn't hit them. That is pretty serious.
But still, I feel so sorry for that family. One decision really can change your whole lives.

What an awful episode, it's very easy to say he shouldn't have chased them but I know my husband would have done the same. So awful for his wife, she's the real victim having to terminate the pregnancy, losing her husband while he's in prison and having to leave her home.
The other two didn't even care about what they'd done, it was just another day at work for them

God, it's disgraceful. Our criminal justice system is a joke. Zero sympathy for those two, who will continue their criminal ways, without a care in the world. They've already been handed a free pass, no consequences for their actions whatsoever!!

I did think a termination before sentencing seemed a bit over reactive but hey, it’s her body her choice. As it turned out she’d have had the baby before he was released, but not much before as he’d have only done 11 months. What a sad story.

Just watched this and shocked at the outcome. Yes he shouldn't have done what he did but his sentence seems so unfair. Slapped wrists for the perpetual offenders yet a prison sentence for the man who was a victim of their crimes.

He went in in February so “only” served 7 months. Thank god he’s out though. I hope someone gives him a job.

And what a perfect way to summarise the absolute total mess our criminal justice system is in.
That those two utter scumbags got off with suspended sentences because “prison would be hard due to their injuries” is a fucking travesty.
