Was on Friday night , bbc one and stars Daisy May Cooper ( this country , taskmasters)

Thought I'd start a spoiler thread as it's all on the I player and I know a few of us have binged it!
I did love this. It had an unusual manic start , but it grew in me and seeing the different episodes through a different lens was clever
I felt sorry for her with Alex and how easy it was for her to fall for his charms.

@LizzieSiddal honestly every time I watch it I pick up on something new - it’s so clever and there’s so much thst is subtle

it is definitely made for people who are addicted to mumsnet 🙄

I'm on my third watch and every clue is there about Dan being a cheat and Jen being poor, but I didn't see them first time round.. It's so clever, yet at the same time I did not see the big twist at the end coming at all. It's the best show I've seen in years. I can't stop thinking about it. Also Ollie is a brilliant actor. His face says everything even without words.

We def need more Jesus if Daisy does a second series

Olly was great and I loved the way his condition wasn’t really referenced. He just was. Unhappy about the actual incident - bloke is at more or less walking pace on the platform and meanwhile another train is flying down the track on the same side?

@meanderingthrough ij one of the episodes Alex says that his feet are off the ground - this is the version where she stops the train - so what happened was he ended up off the platform where the tracks come back next to each other and then ooffff train on the other track

Ok, we'll let that go than for the purposes of moving things on.
Wouldn't have happened though, there's no 'other track' and the Rail Accident Investigator must have had their out of office on that week :)

Good yarn, well plotted would watch again ...despite nobody being that likeable.

@meanderingthrough what do you mean there’s no other track? There’s lots of places with multiple tracks next to each brother after a platform isn’t there?

I liked how Ollie wasn't treated with kid gloves and nobody treated him any differently. Even the kids thought he was cool.

I love how Jesus sent Alex off to get him a Cappuccino as if he was staff.

Really funny and cool

Not many writers can make a show compelling when there aren't many likeable characters. It was brilliantly done. I'd like to see Dan murdered by tumble drier next Daisy if you're reading this.😂

just started to rewatch it with DH. Only on episode 2 and really hoping he'll stick with it, he's in one of those determined I won't like moods 🙄

I notice the the Dan turn into Alex during sex, and the girl in the shop saying about going with 'that married man'

I need to rematch. Because I've convinced myself that Alex really wasn't that awful and only ghosted her and said what he did because Ollie caught them and maybe his girlfriend figured something out. It can't have just been purely to get back at his brother, all those years...

I loved Nic though. And how she and Jen were although you wonder how much was Jen trying to get Nic to like her.

And the mad neighbour too. Veering from attempts to be super organised class mum to bonkers.

No, Alex was definitely a bad guy. He was simultaneously lying to his girlfriend and his brother and his sister in law. His best man speech was actually pretty venomous.

The timing of his declaration of love to Nic , at her wedding, was particularly spiteful.

i think she settled to marry. Has low self esteem. And then was flattered and enjoyed the thrill of having an affair when it was offered up to her

its so rare to see complex flawed women who are given full personalities

This. Maybe they married because they had a baby. Maybe she wanted a comfortable life as a SAHM but found it wasn't enough excitement. The offer of an affair came as a thrill.

I picked up when i rebinged it - when Jesus asks her what her husband to be be is like she says he’s like an A4 envelope 😂
