The reason we don’t have school shootings in the U.K. is that it took one single instance (the Dunblane massacre in Scotland) to see a change in the law regarding ownership of firearms.

since then, there has not been a single school shooting. Which proves that restricting gun ownership works.

except in Holby. Which has had two school shootings.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/07/2022 21:13

Just watching last weeks. One after the funeral

How did blast happen in David’s flat

Was it petrol being boiled in kettle

or thrown through window

Connor (?) Tampered with the gas metre

Hellocatshome · 20/07/2022 21:17

@Blondeshavemorefun the young man (Callum maybe?) Bypassed the meter in the old ladies flat so she didn't have to pay for gas.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/07/2022 22:11

Ah right. Thanks. So wasn’t directed at David

When I saw how David responded to the journal I got the feeling it contained something that David had absolutely no idea about.

David came across as incredibly shocked and horrified and I don’t think he’d react like that if it was just Ollie writing about planning the shooting or Ollie whinging about his dad being too busy at work because he already knew those things.

I did wonder whether it was full of lots of crazy ramblings that might indicate Ollie was suffering from bipolar……

……and I also wondered whether it’s written in there that Rosa was actually harming Ollie.

I don’t know - but David’s reaction of shock and horror makes me think that whatever is written in that journal is what will explain Ollie’s behaviour and it will be something very unexpected.

Perplexed0522 · 23/07/2022 16:34

I really wish they’d smarten Dylan up!

He used to be the hottie of the Department but now he just looks really messy and unkempt. It’s most disappointing.

JustDanceAddict · 24/07/2022 14:24

@Perplexed0522 - I thought he’d seen the planning of the shooting and reasoning leading up to it. Will def explain why he went down that path.
tbh David was giving him the brush off when he came to speak to him prior to the shooting - I reckon it’ll say he’s a crap dad and ‘he’ll notice me if I shoot up the school’ etc.

QuattroFromagio · 24/07/2022 18:11

I've forgotten, or missed in the chaos of the episode, how did Ollie die? Was he shot by police, or the other boy, or himself? Or pushed down the stairs or something?

He was shot whilst he and the other boy were wrestling over the gun - I think it was an accident - and then he fell over the bannisters of the stairs as a result of the injury.

possibly!!!!

QuattroFromagio · 24/07/2022 19:20

ah thanks. I had vague confused memories of guns and stair falling and couldn't remember how it went.

NoddingTulip · 24/07/2022 19:39

If the diary contained plans about the shooting then surely the police would have kept it for evidence in any enquiry? I know that both Ollie and Rob died so there will be no trial, but there will be an enquiry into it and they will have needed that to form part of any investigation. I'm sure David had said the box was given back to him by the police after they'd gone through everything.

AnImaginaryCat · 31/07/2022 12:50

Just caught up with the one from 16th ("No Good Deed").

Have to say enjoyed it, it did feel like Casualty of old (when there was a dramatic one). Plenty of focus on different patients and following them through. Not mad about the surrogacy storyline - not unless they focus on the fact Robin has been manipulate into through her financial circumstances. I'd like to see someone- preferably Marty or his new boyfriend to realise that.

I've not got recordings for last week or last night. Now that's either because they weren't on but often my recordings just drop. Not in the UK, so can't use iPlayer. Was it on?

JustDanceAddict · 31/07/2022 13:34

@AnImaginaryCat - not on last night due to Commonwealth Games!

Optimist1 · 31/07/2022 15:51

@AnImaginaryCat - nor was it on last Saturday, so you're up to date

MadisonAvenue · 01/08/2022 15:50

It doesn’t look like it’s on next Saturday either, it seems the next episode will be on the 13th.

Suedomin · 01/08/2022 16:18

I think the journal will describe just how unhappy Ollie had been for a long time, that he was being bullied and feeling helpless. Then it will relate his be friendship with Rob and how he tried to talk to David about it all but David was too busy. David will feel very guilty about it all and blame himself again

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2022 20:55

Yes 3w no casualty

I dont know but I am a bit confused it doesn't seem to be making reference to anything that happened in the last episode.

Thethreecs · 13/08/2022 21:02

I think I read on digital spy a while ago that it was recorded much earlier in the year. I can't remember the reason they didn't show it.

SoupDragon · 14/08/2022 09:41

The episodes have been a bit odd recently. I've had the "not a continuation" feeling before with this Rash/Paige storyline.

I hope not. They constantly have this thing of demanding children/partners/parents showing up and expecting their HCP relatives to drop everything and listen to them, followed by said relatives feeling dreadfully guilty because they had to do what they are trained and paid for. But it's not as if they're at work 24 hours a day. In David's case, it's difficult to believe that there was no point when he was at home when Ollie couldn't have spoken to him if he wanted to.
