I remember at the time TV Quick described it as ‘Not so much a haircut as a cry for help!’ Grin

It’s interesting that Gail said the headmistress (Gloria Weaver/Pollard of Emmerdale, if you’re thinking ‘Ooh, what’s she been in?’) was ‘very nice’. I seem to remember thinking at the time she was quite understanding, but watching now, the comments about not being seen to condone Sarah’s behaviour seem rather old-fashioned now. I think she’d be treated with more compassion given she’s in a clearly vulnerable position.

Comparing the believable, although obviously exaggerated, meeting between Sarah Lou, Gail and Martin then that ridiculous one between max, David and most unprofessional headteacher ever was stark.

Classic Corrie is putting me off normal Corrie.

I just can’t take my eyes off the deputy head’s hair in modern day Corrie.

Yes I thought it was an odd comment too I mean nobody thinks such a young teenage pregnancy is a brilliant thing But the condoning comment was unnecessary.

Just caught up and came straight here to ask who scalped Sally? No wonder she put that woolly hat on for the rest of the episode.

Classic Corrie is putting me off normal Corrie.
Welcome to the club !

My goodness, Les Battersby is beyond obnoxious, isn't he?

Why the hell did Janice tell him about Hayley's admirer? She must have known that he would spitefully use that information at the very first opportunity.

I did hope that Shaun the builder's reaction was going to be more positive than it was, and that he would tell Les exactly where to stick his vile insinuations.

On a different note, I really do think that Tina O Brien is doing a cracking job portraying Sarah Lou. She's a natural actress, and SL is totally realistic and believable.

CounsellorTroi · 12/02/2022 18:16

I like the way Charles Lawson portrays Jim McDonald too, so I do. He’s a complex character.

FeltCarrot · 12/02/2022 20:26

Just catching up on this weeks episodes, poor Maxeem commenting on Ken’s murder mystery story and asking how many murders there had been in the street…

Cinders15 · 13/02/2022 10:57

I've been wondering who the corpse could be - who's gone missing in the last year
My money is on Tony Natalie's son

That rings a bell!

Hint: the answer is in this week's TV Choice!

WomanStanleyWoman · 17/02/2022 13:09

Oh Natalie Sad They don’t half pile the tragedy on for her. I know the tragic queen figure is a big thing in soap, but it’s going to the extreme here! I do wonder if it was dialled up to make viewers more sympathetic to her, given that she broke up the Webster marriage.

Candice is very good considering she’s only the token friend every teenage soap character has. It’s not surprising she becomes a full-time character. Normally the actors are never heard of again.

Poor Gary. He’s destined to amble about between the pub, the café and the shop telling people who are desperately trying to look interested that the twins are enjoying nursery and the window cleaning round is doing okay. Don’t hold your breath for a Best Storyline award, Gazza.

🤣🤣poor Gary indeed ,irl he wouldn't really need to work as a single parent of very young children would he ,apparently his mortgage was paid off when Judy died ,and he would be entitled to income support, tax credits ( or what ever the equivalent was ,child benefit etc ,surely that would be better than trying to do a window cleaning round especially whilst the twins are very young .
CounsellorTroi · 19/02/2022 09:31

I was a bit surprised that Gail didn’t want the baby’s father involved, given her own feelings about not knowing her own father. It’s not just about her, is it?

Lightning020 · 19/02/2022 09:50

Yes it was poor form to not allow the father's family to be involved.

x2boys · 19/02/2022 10:46

I agree ,but Sarah-Lou and Neil are at school together in real life once she had the baby ,school friends would be seeing her ,it wouldn't be fair that Neil couldn't see his daughter ,and his parents.

GreenClock · 20/02/2022 14:02

The headteacher reminds me a little of Denise Black.

I feel that it’s morally wrong to exclude the Fearns family but I accept that Gail has her daughter’s welfare at heart.

Karen should be arriving soon I think. Great character! Suranne Jones had so much chemistry with Simon Gregson.

x2boys · 28/02/2022 15:55

If you are going to open a hardware shop ,would you really pick a little back street in Salford to open it in 🤔

eggandonion · 28/02/2022 19:26

I wish Curly would come back, he was a kind soul. I also wish Karen would come back and annoy Tracey.

x2boys · 28/02/2022 20:42

Yes Curly and our Terry should come back and team up with kev again ,and be the old lads rather than young lads at the rovers😂
Vinny is annoying ,he's only being seeing Natalie a few months and already massively judging her ,she lost Des and Tony within weeks FFs

GreenClock · 28/02/2022 21:22

Vinny annoyed me when he started throwing his weight around after Natalie hired him. Great actor, irritating character.

Iwantacampervan · 02/03/2022 15:06

New David!

DratThatCat · 03/03/2022 08:06

I'm a few days behind but what was that veggie sausage 'casserole' that Maxime was cooking? It looked like the sauce was gravy but she served it with spaghetti??? It wouldn't be the sausages that bothered me if I was Ashley, it would be the gravy/pasta combo!

x2boys · 03/03/2022 16:37

I'm confused ,that friend of Toyah,s looks very much like Emma Kenney ( TV crime psychologist ) she was listed in the credits as Emma Taylor 🤔
I' watch a lot of true crime and she's always presenting them .
