Eileen Derbyshire has been brilliant.

It’s sad that Maxine has gone, she was a great character and Tracy Shaw made the role her own and had great chemistry with Ashley. I loved her in the salon with Audrey too “ooo Max-IIINE!”

I've never watched modern Corrie, I got into Classic by chance (reminded me of my mum).

When does it go downhill? I'm gripped atm.

I think Tracy Shaw was going through a lot of personal problems at the time; alcohol, bulimia etc.

Yes, a lot of substance abuse issues. Claire McGlinn (Charlie Ramsden) went to the press and said she was hell to work with.

From memory, Tracy Shaw had said she wanted to leave, but then started trying to change her mind and saying she wasn’t sure whether she was going or not. I think the producers got pissed off and made the decision for her.

A fair point about the female customers leering at Ciaran ! No wonder Roy feels unsettled when his own wife is talking about the young man in those terms.

That said, women had been putting up with it for years and were expected to be flattered. So I’m not too sad that the tables were turned. 😀

Don’t understand how Dev has all these young girls falling for him. He’s about 40 in Classic Corrie.
It’s odd how past relationships are never mentioned either. Dev and Tracey, Maria and Nick, Maria Toyah and Fiz being flat mates.

Amy & Simon are older than the twins - certainly Amy hasn't been conceived yet, not sure about Simon. The twins were 'up-aged' at some point so it'll be interesting to see exactly when they were born. We're now early 2003 so anyone born soon would be 20 in modern day.

For my money, it’s 2014 onwards.

I stopped watching it when every episode seemed to half consist of Michelle screeching and some gangster rubbish in the other part.
Got sucked back in by the Yasmin and Geoff story.

The Geoff story doesn’t hold up well against the way the Richard story was done

They certainly knew how to do a good death and funeral back then. I had soggy eyes all through that last episode, but especially at Audrey doing Maxine's hair.

These days people get killed/die and we never hear another thing. Look at poor Robert who didn't get a funeral at all and was never mentioned again.

God they are all going to be mortified when the truth comes out! All going on about how Richard is a living saint 😀
