So who's the mystery graffiti-artist, do we know?

I don't know but I was wondering if it was Tyrone ? Les was pretty obnoxious to him in the cafe about his reading ?
MrFsAunt · 01/02/2022 10:45

Good point x2boys that would make perfect sense.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 01/02/2022 12:50

Where did Tom suddenly get a car from?

When he left he was loading stuff into the boot of what looked like quite a sporty car (frameless windows too!)

I remember when he first arrived he was driving his late Mother's VW Golf.

And his Dad, Dougie, demanded they keys back from Tom to take the car away.

So when did he buy another car? And why didn't we know about it when he did? 🤔

CounsellorTroi · 01/02/2022 12:51

Given Tyrone is just now starting to read and write, would he be up to it?

x2boys · 01/02/2022 15:57

Honestly it was a guess i didn't remember the storyline 🤣🤣

WomanStanleyWoman · 01/02/2022 16:21

I love Gabrielle Glaister, but she’s horribly miscast as Debs. She can’t keep up the accent and, whenever she turns on the whole ‘Ey up our Natalie, where’s the action round here?’ routine, I just think ‘But you’re Patricia Farnham…’

Jennifer James who plays Geena is married to Lee ‘Jez Quigley’ Boardman in real life, fact fans.

I quite often see them in my local Morrisons!
WomanStanleyWoman · 03/02/2022 15:53

Oh Sarah Lou Sad

I remember watching that episode. Even though we knew what was coming, it was still a Shock moment when it actually happened. It’s a shame really that the storyline was revealed in advance - we’d have all been expecting an eating disorder storyline and it would have been a huge shock.

I can remember that episode! Can’t wait for tomorrow now how Martin is going to handle it !

MrFsAunt · 03/02/2022 17:00

I definitely missed it first time round. I was surprised it just went straight to the pregnancy, no build up or boyfriend in the storyline unless a bit of eye contact with a boy at the football counts!

eggandonion · 03/02/2022 17:14

It was handy at the time, my kids are younger but it opened up conversations. Now I just have to warn them to get surveys in case an area is prone to sinkholes.

I think that was supposed to be the biggest shock originally,we haven't seen her with a boyfriend and she's only 13.
BrambleRoses · 03/02/2022 18:30

It doesn’t feel like 22 years ago …

HuntingoftheSnark · 03/02/2022 18:33

I've only just started watching this (because it's on at 6am) and the acting compares so favourably with what we have now, as well as the heartwarming relationships between female characters in particular. What happened?

I know it's sad ,it's the crazy over the top story lines I think ,I only watch modern Corrie now and then if happen to switch over ,,and it's just appaling imo
HuntingoftheSnark · 03/02/2022 19:56

@x2boys although we all disapprove, the emotion between Martin and Rebecca is so real and raw. We hate him for sleeping with them both yet understand where she is. Contrast to now and all the utter drama, sinkholes et al. And Alma! What a lovely lady.

x2boys · 03/02/2022 20:37

I know she's stunning ,my dh never watches classic Corrie apart from bits he catches when I have it on ,but commented on how stunning Alma was .

Mairyhinge · 04/02/2022 11:29

Anyone else picked up on who does the voice over when the adverts come on? It's Jill Halfpenny, who plays Rebecca! She's also the voice over on present day Corrie but it's not as coincidental.

eggandonion · 04/02/2022 11:30

Is that the argos ad?

Yes, gorgeous eyes.
Lightning020 · 04/02/2022 15:05

Gail carries on doesn't she. No wonder Martin has been involved with another woman.

GreenClock · 08/02/2022 00:00

I don’t recall the Debs character at all. Is she go supposed to have a Tyneside accent like Denise Welch’s? She sounds like Patricia Farnham to me. They look like siblings though.

Alma is beautiful.

I think that the chemistry between Sean Wilson and Jill Halfpenny is amazing. Gail is now wrapped up in the pregnancy and understandably oblivious to everything else. Great acting all round.

x2boys · 08/02/2022 07:44

I don't think Debs is in it for long ,and yes her accent is totally different to Natalie,s 🙄
They do have a lot of characters from the North East 🤣
