Is anyone watching this series? Have only seen the first episode but just love the kids. They can't hide their emotions at all Grin liked Paul Hollywood as a stand in for Liam too, thought he was good with the kids.

Watched the first one too. Those mini rolls were a really tough first challenge.

Yes really tough, the end result of some of them though Grin (I doubt I could do better so hopefully it's acceptable to laugh!)

Watching this with my 5 year old - we both loved previous series. I thought it was really funny how Paul Hollywood was so obviously conscious of not wanting to hurt the kids feelings

Ellmau · 12/01/2022 19:01

I love it. Loved seeing the little boy get a Hollywood Handshake :)

jay55 · 12/01/2022 20:02

It's quite annoying how nice and still constructive Paul is. Shows the sneers meanness is a real choice on the main show.

I normally hate hate hate cooking programmes.....but I really like this!! The kids are great, and love HH, Paul and Ravneet BlushGrin

Adorable and has the coolest name

I'm loving this series, great children and a good presenting team, Harry Hill makes me laugh.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/01/2022 18:01

Placemarking to remind myself to catch up with this!

ParkheadParadise · 14/01/2022 18:03

I've enjoyed it. The kids are great.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/01/2022 19:14

I think my favourite is Lola - she's so excitable and it's hilarious how she manages to get covered in the ingredients! But it's so sad when one of them has to go and bursts into tears.

I wasn't paying attention at the end of today's episode but why is there a whole tranche of new kids starting next week? What happens to the four left from this week?

NotJustACigar · 14/01/2022 19:18

Harry Hill is so good as the host, he was absolutely made for the role.

The kids are really cute but it surprises me they have 9 year olds going up against 13 year olds as there's such a huge difference in ability and maturity at that age. But some of the 9 year old are doing great. I saw on the website that in the second heat there's a 15 year old!

Justkeeppedaling · 14/01/2022 19:26

IMO this is currently the best programme on TV. The kids are great, and Harry Hill is so funny.

There's a new batch of kids next week.

PS I predict Quique to top the U.K. name charts next year.

Yes another 8 children start next week including 2 aged 15, I guess 4 go forward to the final week that follows and will meet up with the final 4 shown today.

Eliza is the daughter of Eastenders' star Natalie Cassidy: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10404717/Natalie-Cassidy-proudly-reveals-Junior-Bake-Offs-Eliza-daughter.html

Thanks @sunshineclouds24. Though pitching 15yos against a 9yo hardly seems fair, especially considering a few teens have competed in the adult Bake-Off!

I'm sure they are aware of the age range when they apply.

maddiemookins16mum · 15/01/2022 18:47

Lola is just adorable, she is constantly beaming.

Justkeeppedaling · 15/01/2022 21:02

DH says she looks like a child from the 1950s.

CouldBeHere · 15/01/2022 21:06

I adore this programme!

clpsmum · 15/01/2022 21:11

I want to adopt Lola and quique tbh

longtompot · 15/01/2022 21:13

We love it. So much more in the spirit than the adult one. I am amazed by what they can bake, especially some of the younger ones.

longtompot · 15/01/2022 21:18

Lola reminds me of my friends daughter. Very similar manner and open smiley face.
This is the next lot of contestants. Mia looks older than 15 imo and reminds me a bit of Saoirse Ronan.

Oh I think he's AWFUL. I cant stand him in this at all

Cant believe how good the children are. They're fantastic. Mind you I never progressed further than chocolate krispies
