Is anyone watching this series? Have only seen the first episode but just love the kids. They can't hide their emotions at all Grin liked Paul Hollywood as a stand in for Liam too, thought he was good with the kids.

This and Gogglebox are shows I watch with a smile on my face!!!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/01/2022 11:29

Don't agree that they are all stage school kids. Fraser, Aisya and Salma from this week don't come across that way, nor does Kezia from last week. Lola, Mary, Gabriel and Quique might be but are lovely talented kids so I don't care.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/01/2022 11:31

Macy! Autocorrect doing its level best to 'correct' unusual words. Pah.

ChessieFL · 23/01/2022 05:23

I don’t think they’re stage school kids. I just think they’re all kids from families that support and encourage their children with hobbies. I think baking is quite an expensive hobby to become good at - yes you can make a basic cake/bread loaf or whatever quite cheaply but to bake often enough to become really good at it doesn’t come cheap when you start adding up the cost of all the fancier ingredients. I therefore suspect that most of them are from more comfortable backgrounds and that also means there’s more money to support them in their other hobbies.

Who got star baker? I was t paying attention!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/01/2022 18:00

Lola! I love how excited she gets.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/01/2022 19:09

Excellent I love her!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/01/2022 19:27

Yes, Lola Star.

Fraser possibly a bit overconfident there. Kezia had a blip but fortunately came top in the Technical, so was safe. Macy bottom in Technical but did extremely well in the Showstopper, phew.

Poor Gabriel! Finally came a cropper. His apron was a sight to see by the end of the day. More chocolate on the apron than in the bake!

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2022 15:28

Shame to see Gabriel go, but he should never have made it through in the first places

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2022 17:03

Chicken waffle sandwiches, sound revolting

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/01/2022 17:47

They looked OK in the end, but frankly I'd rather have that without the waffle.

I don't want to see anyone eliminated today. Lovely kids, all of them.

Blueberrycreampie · 25/01/2022 17:58

They complained a couple were too dry but if they had added more than a little dressing, surely the waffle would go soggy? Has anyone ever eaten a waffle sandwich with a huge wodge of chicken in? I'd be surprised.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/01/2022 18:01

Getting very difficult now. Such talent in such young bakers! I don't see Lola winning but I will be very sad to see her go. What a livewire!

Ellmau · 25/01/2022 21:24

Fraser possibly a bit overconfident there.

Worse today - I found him really annoying.

I rather liked the giant snacks.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2022 22:32

They are all lovely kids. Don't want Fraser to win though as he's too confident. Would love for Lola, Kezia or the girl with the scarf and glasses who's dad is a GP. Can't remember her name. But she's really good.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/01/2022 22:34

Aisya, I think. Yes, she is very good.

LavenderAskew · 26/01/2022 15:15

There's so many lovely kids.

I do wish Liam could cut off bits rather than take a bite out of things that aren't a slice or forkable (real word) like the chicken waffle and chocolate mint.

Blueberrycreampie · 26/01/2022 17:32

That washing up sponge technical was fun!

KillingMeDeftly · 26/01/2022 17:56

Ooh controversial! I thought Aisya would get star baker.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/01/2022 18:02

Must have been close for Star Baker. Poor little Macy. What a lovely child.

CrossPurposes · 26/01/2022 19:55

I thought Aisya would get it just because hers was the one that made me go wow.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 26/01/2022 20:29

I really admired Macey's resilience when her cake fell off the bench. No histrionics, just a calm 'I know what I can do'. That's a brilliant quality for a child her age to have.
I'd like Kezia or Aisha to win now. Fraser's confidence doesn't annoy me, but his instructing of the other bakers does! It could be that as the oldest, he feels he should help them and of course it may be the edit. Lola and Quique are both lovely but possibly don't quite have the same skill level yet.

fluffiphlox · 26/01/2022 20:33

I do feel if I was in Gabriel’s company for more than two minutes I’d want to scream.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/01/2022 21:01

@fluffiphlox Imagine being his teacher!

fluffiphlox · 26/01/2022 21:18

@KillingMeDeftly You’re not are you ?! 😀
