Just finished episode one and need to talk about it!!!

Didn't like much of the episode to be honest. But the ending! I'm floored! Was not expecting that.

I'm not sure when I saw it coming because the original thread gave it away, I thought. I'm a bit preoccupied with stuff today so normally I would have bawled.

I haven't seen the second episode but I imagine if Carrie didn't call, it's because when you know, you know. I didn't think he'd be able to hold on to see her.

I have a horrible speculative feeling about what's coming next - can I say it here? It's only my brain, I haven't heard any rumours.

Pedantic point - the actress playing the piano, her hands are far bigger than liky's!

I think I see what they're trying to do, and I think they're doing it well but that's based on one episode. Yes, certain aspects have been added with a shovel but I think that's commentary on how they've been added to society with a shovel.

Oh and TowandaForever the woman at the funeral was one of Carrie's friends from S1 or 2. She had a really horrific husband who shouted at her loads.

Oh and TowandaForever the woman at the funeral was one of Carrie's friends from S1 or 2. She had a really horrific husband who shouted at her loads.

I fear the next thing will be Big was in a lot of debt and Carrie won't have any money. I'm not sure what the situation is with her money apart from his, though.

Like the flat will have three mortgages on it and he'll be heavily invested in Bitcoin etc.

Oh I haven't even seen that, I just think it fits if you're a series writer. I used to do creative writing as a hobby so I'm a total bore about this stuff.

Next step, Carrie would have to take work in the current journalistic environment....hence more of those god awful podcasts.

@DaisyNGO that's a good shout, I reckon you might be right there. Thr secretary said something about all others being let go but I thought it was an age thing rather than a money thing.

I think 'the twist' was a wise move tbh. I don't think I could have coped with any more of their relationship ups and downs as a plotline.

I think they had to make him die as if they broke up the whole series would just be about them getting back together again
It opens up a world of plotlines
I expect one will be the money
I can't bear the wokeness, would be fine if it was natural but it is so forced and down your throat

Samantha would never have ditched Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda like that. She’s a mature, sensible woman. And they all love each other. It’s just not realistic that they wouldn’t have spoken for so long. Still, I guess it’s good that they’re leaving the door open for her.

Big’s death was heartbreaking Sad

Overall, it was pretty much what I was expecting. The wokeness was very heavy handed. The new characters took up too much space. The podcast bit was awful (Carrie running her own podcast in her own style would have been much better). Still, it was nice to see nearly all the old characters back together again. I don’t really mind that Samantha wasn’t there, just seeing the other three girls together made me very happy.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the show but they’re all awful and deserve each other Grin And it is very funny.

I never watched the 2nd film due to the terrible reviews and it seems that was a wise move from the chatter about it again recently.

Carries remark about Samantha made me laugh - as if Carrie was Samanthas highest paying client?! As if!

Just watched the first one and I quite liked it.

Things against tough:

Although I know they had to bring it up, I felt quite uncomfortable when they talked about Samantha.

Miranda is way more socially aware than they’ve made her to be, there’s no way she would have approached the teacher at the tube station (by the way, she looks so different from The Morning Show)

Also, I’m sorry, there’s no way Stanford and Anthony would ever end up together.

I actually thought Big was dead from the beginning and it was a sort of Sixth Sense situation. I though I must have misheard her when she mentioned them driving to the Hamptons at the beginning of the episode. The scenes together seemed off to me.

I’ll definitely keep watching and will probably enjoy the ride. I hope it’s not Carrie throwing herself a never ending pity party though.

Watched both episodes today, devastated that they killed Big!

I thought they were very heavy handed with the ‘wokeness’, I understand where they were coming from that people are worried about saying the wrong thing but I don’t think Miranda was the right character to approach that with, she’s always been very savvy and intelligent so I don’t like the way they are going with her character so far.

Hope we don’t start another endless stream of Carrie dating again - I heard Aiden comes back, he was the worst, well except the Russsian of course!

Yes, the trailer shows her with short hair. I really hope they aren't going to go where I think they might, it would be so unoriginal.

The first episode was a bit cringe but SJP was amazing in the final scene.

I wish in this season they hadn't killed Big off. Maybe his heart attack could have worked as an end of season finale but I enjoyed seeing the couple be in love together :(

The clothes are still fabulous. SJP's hair is utterly divine.

Sometimes it's a real give away if a part is played by someone who is not unknown. I recognised the secretary so it's made me suspicious!
