@nannannanana it was Matthew Doward the replacement submariner who had flown in on the helicopter with Amy.
He was also doing the sonar tracking/listening in the control/command room

I just caught up on the decontamination theory in the previous thread - it actually makes sense to me as I was wondering how on earth Dowden would explain her mysteriously vanishing to the rest of the crew! “Oh yeah she came in with the tin of nerve gas and then I don’t know where she went soreeee”.

He has to knock her out to get her in there cos no one would shimmy into a torpedo tube to be locked in there…
Although why would he take the note… also decontaminating it…?

Ffs it’s my birthday next week and dh has invited both our families round on Sunday for a big dinner and celebration - I’m going to have to tell them all to fuck off at half 8 to get myself ready to watch - this is never going to work Angry Grin

When they went up to get Amy and Burke replacement why didn’t they do something then

Vigil would still have been able to fire if attacked then, i think, but now the capability has been removed because of the contamination.

I agree he can plausibly claim to be cleansing her if he's caught.

I know they only had 15 minutes but it felt as though Amy plucked 'what if it was someone who wasn't on here before' out of thin air.

@TimeIhadaNameChange it’s been well past the 3 hours I think, I’m sure they issued the instruction late at night (it was dark when longacre got home and her boss told her that vigil hadn’t responded to the message to return to port and that it had been a couple of hours by that point) and later on in the episode it was daylight.
I know @JanglyBeads - I never do anything for my birthday! I’m a birthday denier and I’m celebrator! He obviously thought this would be a lovely surprise (I was at my mums when he phoned to tell her) but he doesn’t realise the importance of a Sunday night Hmm

I noticed this seems quite a quiet thread? Is it possible a lot of people who joined initially have become totally disengaged and given up like me? I couldn't find anything I cared about in this show at all, not even the Whodunnit. And Suranne Jones is a terrible showy actress, I find her completely unwatchable.

DH is still following so it is on in the room. I did LOL when she was running around with that nerve gas in a dulux tin and bin liner.

Yeah, and there'll be lockers of Atropine too because all British Military units have access to it on deployment.

No idea how I manage to walk around in a dry suit all day when kayaking, it's a black one too - hours of fun on a sunny day. Never needed ice cubes pouring in it though! Grin

So many holes in it, I'm hanging on just to get it out of the way....

Found you! Thank you for the new thread Blondes. I'm just catching up as we watched Endeavour last night- the other Shaun Evans one!
So the cook was so upset because she was being blackmailed, Doward wasn't incompetent but evil and baby Morse isn't the baddie but it ain't looking good for him right now. Oh and Da Silva is reliving her worst fear.
Can I check, they (the Russians?) had 1 asset on Vigil (Doward), one in the camp (?Tom Bagley?) and presumably one in the Naval base (do we know this??).
Have I missed anything major??!! (Answer most definitely yes).
