It's true the show could function without NW - but the writers would really have to step up the focus on Sunny - domestically and psychologically. And, as I said in the first thread, I'm convinced he would be passed over for promotion - which brings its own drama.

It's true the show could function without NW - but the writers would really have to step up the focus on Sunny - domestically and psychologically. And, as I said in the first thread, I'm convinced he would be passed over for promotion - which brings its own drama.

It could very well be a thing. Not sure if it will happen in the last episode but I think it might be what happens.

Do the police have someone "act up" when a more senior staff member is out temporarily? Who was filling Cassie's role when she was off sick just previously?

As I said in the other thread I just feel Sunny will mention racism he suffers. There's so much that Ram is 'playing the race card" and "alleged" racism, that at some point Sunny will note what he suffers.

At the moment he is very tolerate of things said to him he registered it certainly but doesn't react like Ram does.

On the CPR thing - I don't think that means he didn't kill Matthew. There was comment about him being quick react to anger. He could very well have snapped in reaction to racism (again) from Matthew killed him in a hit of rage. The CPR was because he didn't really intend or want to kill him.

It could be that which made him not tolerate any racism he experienced in the force from then on.

Much as I like Sunny, not sure I'd watch it without Cassie.

Yes the police have people acting up so I guess Sunny was doing that? He's a fantastic actor, so subtle and understated, I would like to see more of him.

I love NW but she's been a really misery for this series and the last half of last series. I get that her character has been through a lot but it's getting a bit hard to watch.

I'd love to know what happened with Ram and his dad and more about Liz and her mum. This series has been a real slow burn, they need about three episodes to wrap it all up!

Sorry, I've not read first thread, so maybe this mentioned. Perhaps drama in ep 6 will be Cassie live or not, while Sunny closes the case and we get to know him better.

Then s5 could be Cassie better but still not able to actively work a case. But Sunny working with her, informally, so she and her recovery are still at heart of the programme.

I can't imagine the programme without her. Other series have survived loss of major character, but they have more than one person who we are invested in.

Placemarking. Just loved this! Can't believe we could have Unforgotten without Cassie but I just love Sunny. He is just excellent in this.

I lost my beloved fountain pen about 30 years ago now. It was a Sheaffer. So at least I can be ruled out.

First series Cass would be my friend. Series 4 - too miserable like me, so I think we would be competing as to which one of us would be the biggest misery guts & bring each other down.

Much as I love Sunny, I am not sure I'm happy with all this talk of him t 'acting up'/'it'll be fine without her': but then I thought Spooks really went downhill after she left too ;-)

I agree though that we are waiting to hear his stories of racism - and potentially of how it feels to be playing second fiddle to Cassie's grumpy brilliance: he's been tolerating a lot this series (not getting his moving in day off work for example) - perhaps
