Sunny has always seemed too fond of Cassie to mind any adverse consequences of working with her.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/03/2021 16:29

@SchadenfreudePersonified

Thanks, Blondes

If a new thread isn't posted early, I spend days looking for you all.

That’s why I link @SchadenfreudePersonified

Clutching at straws but... could Fiona have killed the child of Ram's wife? Could she have killed her own child, pregnant by Ram? Could she have been trying to commit suicide following the rape and successive pregnancy? And, the reason that Sheila H hates her daughter so much is because she is gay and that's what split up her and Fiona... pls accept my twopenneth oh wise oracles :)

JumpLeadsForTwo · 27/03/2021 06:59

Lots of interesting theories!!
The way it stands, they all will lose their jobs and get charged with concealing evidence and preventing lawful burial at the least. Would you get a prison sentence? Fiona will be done by her licencing body. They have all got a lot to lose even if they insist Fogarty killed him.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2021 07:20

Would you get a prison sentence?

If "Scott and Bailey" is anything to go by, then yes - yes, you certainly could be charged and get a prison sentence. This is perverting the course of justice.

(I learned all I know from TV, and have come a long way since Perry Mason)

ImAncient · 27/03/2021 07:58

Less than 72 hours to go. Cannot wait but so disappointed that this may be it. I just love the pace of this.

Thank the Lord for line of duty for another few weeks. Even though I’m usually at the end of my seat.

MargotMoon · 27/03/2021 08:15

Just caught up with the last thread, does anyone happen to know if you can stream Happy Valley anywhere? I can't find it on Netflix which someone mentioned

AuntieStella · 27/03/2021 08:19

Joining this thread, having lurked on the last, and just caught up in watching.

Cassie said that they didn't know nearly enough about Fog. It's made to look too glib to blame the dead guy with the head, but it could be right. He was second out of the car, taller (and faster?) than Ram, could easily have got there first. We know nothing of his background and whether high end fountain pens might feature. Or what he did instead of a police career

Ram and Liz would be the main architects of the cover up. And are perhaps both more bent as coppers than we're meant to believe at first.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 27/03/2021 08:41

Didn't we see Lizzie using a fountain pen in the first episode (before we had any inkling she was involved or the pen had been used?)

AuntieStella · 27/03/2021 08:47

Yes, I think we've seen all of the living four of that night using a fountain pen.

We don't know anything about Fog and pens, or Fog and anything else, other than easily led and hero-worshipping Ram. Nothing else about him individually, or in relation to the others in the cover up

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 27/03/2021 08:49

Yes, I think we've seen all of the living four of that night using a fountain pen.

Ah, thank you, I missed the other three Blush

SirVixofVixHall · 27/03/2021 09:27

How will all this get resolved in 45 minutes ??

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 27/03/2021 09:28

Aha, Fog!

By the time we reached St Oswald's, fog had completely smothered the coast.

Thus begins one of my all time favourite YA novels; Meg Rosoff's 'What I Was' - a story about a person entirely failing to see what is right in front of their eyes.

Fogerty, huh?

Bloodypunkrockers · 27/03/2021 11:53

Fog?

AuntieStella · 27/03/2021 12:05

Have I made an awful howler? Fog was short for Fogarty, the recently deceased freezer and storage unit owner. Have I completely goofed his name?

The think I think I must have misunderstood was that it seemed as if they were looking at a small space for an under counter freezer in Fogarty's (or whatever his name is) recently cleared house. But the still frozen, well below zero at core corpse was lying in a straight line. Even allowing for no head, I just don't see how it could have come out of a freezer where it needed to be folded to fit in, to be lying straight-ish in junk yard.

Or did I just mishear the temperature?

(Or perhaps this is my LoD accidental contamination, as too many freezers and fridges when you take the two together)

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/03/2021 12:13

I think the corpse had defrosted enough to straighten out. Because they only twigged the freezing when they got the core temperature and realised about the freezer burn marks.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 27/03/2021 12:27

No, absolutely not! But your shortening made me wonder if his name was actually a cryptic clue from the writer. It would indeed be amazing if, in the end, it was Fogerty who did the very bad thing.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 27/03/2021 14:30

I am, frankly, just existing until Monday ...

viques · 27/03/2021 14:35

@SirVixofVixHall

They will all have to speak slowly and clearly facing the camera, with lots of subtle pauses so we can absorb the dialogue. If necessary there will be a non combatative character to ask pertinent questions and say “ but why” or “but how” at pertinent moments.

Even so, I agree, it’s going to be tight, but I’m up for it.

Oh I see

I heard them refer to him as Rob. Fog wasn't a nickname I'd heard them use or seen written before.

MorrisZapp · 27/03/2021 14:47

I hope Murray gets to chuck in a handy development from behind his desk.

PhillipPhillop · 27/03/2021 15:23

Have just watched the whole lot. Can't believe I didn't wait until Monday then I wouldn't have to wait two days for the ending!! So we don't know where Liz and Dean were when the body was being worked on by Ram. I don't think it's going to be Ram as he's been the bad guy throughout. Not sure of the significance of the deal that Dean did where he left the truck and disposed of the mobile, was Ram involved with that? If I was Dean I would be hopping mad that my address had been given out by the police! And REALLY hope it's not the end of the series as we know it and NW already has plans for the next.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2021 18:16

I like Murray.

He looks a bit like a bear who has stolen a lot of pic-a-nic baskets.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2021 19:38

Was someone on the previous thread wanting to watchScott and Bailey?

They're on catch-up on ITV3 ATM.
