I think, at this point, it’s not particularly important who dealt the actual killing blow - though I’m (fairly) sure we’ll find out tonight. The main point is that they’re all implicated in covering it up, and they have all suffered major consequences in their personal and/or professional lives as a result. I think the series is more about the impact on the people involved, than the actual crime itself.

I sort of agree. I have happily watched crime dramas where you basically get told from the start whodunnit, it’s not all about the mystery, I love all the background and emotional stuff. However I do think in this show there needs to be some kind of big twist as to how it happened, something else needs to be revealed! The way they’ve gradually got closer to the truth makes me think there’s more to come tonight.

I wonder if it’ll actually come out what Fiona did for her BIL or if we just assume it was sex? Whatever happened triggered her (maybe due to Walsh’s attack on her) as it was after that the floodgates opened and she started telling everything.

Aaaargh less than two hours to go!

Can't wait for 9pm!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 29/03/2021 19:44

SingToTheSky - the Donna Tartt novel is an absolute page turner and an incredible first novel, it caused quite a stir when it was first published ... but that was something like 1992! so probably reads quite dated now. But it was about a group of college friends who colluded in covering up a murder (that's not a spoiler, you read it in the preface). I would recommend if you like pacey thrillers.

SingToTheSky · 29/03/2021 19:58

Thanks chic that’s one for the wish list then!

It’s just made me sad all over again that Cassie and her dad both crossed out the same word in the crossword separately :(

minou123 · 29/03/2021 20:32

Only half an hour to go.

Im sticking with Fiona. I think she killed Walsh and crashed into Cass.

KittyMcKitty · 29/03/2021 20:34

I’m sure it’s Dean - all that controlled simmering anger - walking from the car etc. Ram and Fiona are all emotion and impulse - Liz and Dean calculating and ruthless.

Oh and I properly love Sunny and hope they resolve all the racism issues.

BruceAndNosh · 29/03/2021 20:49

I can't watch and comment at the same time, so I'll see you all back here at 10pm...

The crossword bit got me too. 😞
RigaBalsam · 29/03/2021 20:55

I am going for Liz out of love and rage for Fiona.

minou123 · 29/03/2021 20:57

I like we are all picking different people.

Just goes to show Unforgotten is so good at mystery.

AndwhenyougetthereFoffsomemore · 29/03/2021 20:57

Oooh, exciting! Dh and I have been watching on catch up after the teens are in bed: I'm wondering if we might just commandeer the TV at 9!
My money is on Dean (but agree that the overall take out is a Donna Tartt style ' you've all been punished for covering it up' : the comparison with Secret History is a really good one :-)

SirVixofVixHall · 29/03/2021 21:04

Woohoo here we go.

unique1986 · 29/03/2021 21:05

Doesnt look good.

colouringindoors · 29/03/2021 21:07

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2021 21:10

Who is the woman Sunni spoke to at the beginning (not his girlfriend)?

marplemead · 29/03/2021 21:14

I'm leaning towards Dean. I think he saw Fog in the dark, and it reminded him of one of his brothers. In a moment of pent-up rage for what they had done to him, he stabbed Walsh. When he heard Ram coming, he hid and pretended to arrive at the scene after him.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2021 21:15

Awwwwwe sunny and Sal 👰 ❤️

marplemead · 29/03/2021 21:22

@MoonCatcher

Who is the woman Sunni spoke to at the beginning (not his girlfriend)?
She's the forensic pathologist
minou123 · 29/03/2021 21:23

@MoonCatcher

Who is the woman Sunni spoke to at the beginning (not his girlfriend)?
The coroner/forensic woman.

At the end of last week's episode, Cass went to see her and talked about the pen.

unique1986 · 29/03/2021 21:24

I keep forgetting the names.
Who is Rob?

margoyuwer · 29/03/2021 21:27

Rob is the guy who was driving the car, the guy who is now dead and the body was found in his freezer
