Having lived in Jersey for 26 years, I’m loving the way the island is being shown but OMG the women are just cringe!

Thoughts anyone?

Two eps in here. Enjoying it more than RHOC as they at least admit they don’t know each other. I did think that in ep 1 Tessa introduced Sasha as either her husband of 24 years or ‘we’ve been together for 24years?’. He is as likely to be 40 as much as Margaret is 47 though 🤣 and his accent has changed several times in 2 episodes 🤔Tessa ‘bopping’ away to her child rapping/caterwauling about oral sex was as cringeworthy as it was bizarre. Like everyone else I’ll finish it tho’ 😆

I have a friend who knows Hedi pretty well and also reckons she’s coming across very badly compared to her real self. She was really surprised when she saw her name in the line up.

I know a few Jersey people who dislike Bean as they see it as a term imposed by the British. They all prefer Crapaud.

We have just watched all of 24 Hours in Police Custody. It was amazing. Couldn’t stop laughing at the gluten-free vegan shenanigans.

Very interesting read about the SFA there! Tessa started the 'Jersey Style Awards' here a few years back. The first one made a splash, Shirley Bassey performed and guests included Professor Green who was a bit of a thing at the time. The following year was Alesha Dixon and Gemma Collins, the year after an assortment of old Love Islanders. Hardly the Oscars.

I've seen (and taken part in) plenty of debate about the voting system for those awards. They cover all kinds of broad categories (restaurants, hotel, attractions, spa, retail, philanthropist, whatever a 'tastemaker' is etc). The problem is that to vote for one you have to vote for all categories, so to vote for my favourite restaurant I also have to vote for a corporate philanthropist and an independent retailer - I don't have strong opinions or much knowledge on those subjects so my votes count for nothing, I'll just pick the closest box to tick, I'm sure everyone else does the same thing. It makes the whole thing a complete farce

Oh, so this. I only ever know or care about restaurants or coffee bars and end up clicking all sorts of random nonsense because I want to support my favourites.

I was in the lounge at Jersey Airport the day after the Style Awards one year and it was a sorry collection of mahogany plastic with real hair extensions, clutching hat boxes.

I put the first episode on while dh was here. His response was "is this Grab a granny or what?"

Think it's coming across very flat.

@Dailyhandtowelwash SNAP! I was in departures after the last one (2019?) and Dr Alex from Love Island and his girlfriend were wandering around. I snuck a photo for a mate by pretending to take a selfie with some duty free sunglasses on but actually pointing the camera at them

I did smirk at "chef tess". Those chef whites have never been within 12 foot of a frying pan let alone the young pretender wearing them. The whole family reeks of desperation.

Margaret has had a series of terrifying self promotion photos of her estate agency starring herself with a rictus grin for years. There is always a massive one in the baggage hall at Jersey airport. I'm Jersey born and it made me want to get the next plane out of there 😂

The latest one on the estate agency website is a bit more natural but the previous ones were eighties power dressing at their finest but 30 years late 😀

If Tessa is really a doctor of fashion (if indeed such a thing exists), why does she regularly dress like airline cabin crew?

Sasha and the desperate pop daughter writing a song together about oral sex was just uuuuurrrrgh. I too am trying to work out how he could possibly be 40. And it’s helpful to read here that Margaret is not 47, because I keep staring at her and thinking “how? What went wrong?”

And Jane - “They hate me because I’m nooooooortee. They hate me because I’m cute!” - for heaven’s sake, how old are you?! Seven?!

As a fellow over-invested person I've just been trying to find his birth certificate online but my German's not good enough to navigate the website!

Just been bingeing this series. Loving the thread as well. Horrified atm at what an utter bitch Tessa is being to Mia. I think she's jealous because she styled her so badly for that photoshoot and yet Mia still looked amazing.

Scarily those rainbow trainers they always show between segments popped up in my facebook feed yesterday as an advert. I actually like them but not paying £195 for a pair of trainers.

My mum was wearing clothes like Tessa wears, complete with gold coloured buttons, back in the 60s.

How can Tessa have set up her media company in 1996 with Sascha who would have been only 16 years old and 17 by the time the eldest daughter was born? Even if this is correct, facially I would put Sascha mid 40s at the least.

Kate is at least 55. My friend was at her 50th.

Ashley is 33. I’m 36 and she’s a couple of years younger than me. She’s married to a friends husbands brother.

Isn’t Mia 49? (Not that she remotely looks 49 - she’s the only one who looks way younger than she is!) I’m only assuming this because she said she was 24 when the incident occurred, 25 years ago. Although maybe she meant roughly 25 years ago, to make it even more in the distant past, rather than exactly 25 years ago!

That would make her 9 years older than Sascha

Jane looks good for 56. They must have all had lots of work done I suppose.

I am so here for this thread. Like Ladies of London it will be a classic. What is not to love about the scenery ?
