Having lived in Jersey for 26 years, I’m loving the way the island is being shown but OMG the women are just cringe!

And me! Luckily I hated the cut so much that I spent a small fortune on a day trip to London two weeks later to see my usual hairdresser when he was able to work again, and I still have that cut now. He does brilliant cuts that grow out beautifully. I have stupid tricky hair.

I am only a couple of episodes in but I am surprised at how nice they all seem.

It definitely went down a tier in July as I was able to book a break in early August.

There must have been filming prior to that as the beaches and restaurants are deserted. In August they were heaving.

Unless they filmed in the north perhaps ? Although I thought I recognised restaurants in Gorey and St Helier ?

They are shivering in a lot of the shots!

Margaret’s house is on Ouaisne Bay, which is next to St Brelade’s Bay, and usually less busy. They seem to have used private houses for some of the location shots that I’ve seen so far.

We started letting people in at the start of July, when commercial flights began again. We did get far fewer visitors than normal though. The island was busy with all the people who didn’t leave on their own holidays.

Iv watched a couple more, and it's obvious they don't have stylists, but in a way it's quite refreshing! They are not particularly svelte or fashionable, but it was quite nice to see women with lumps and bumps and making fashion faux pas (much like me!).
Lockdown hair and limited shopping is a factor as well. Like other pps, I really like Kate! I kind of admire her crazy style....

The break away shopping shots made me laugh; Michael Kors, Reiss etc not exactly high end, which is really the point of the Housewives brand.

Also, pp said her husband (Sasha?) owns the production company - I thought he was an artist?

I love that tessa is the dr of fashion.

Her husband produces their daughter songs and she is the daughter of a gazillionaire from Scotland apparently. (According to her bio).

She seems nice ish. Busy. And doesn’t take prisoners. But nice.

I am warming towards Kate. I’m three episodes in and think she is very much what she says she is. Loud. Likes attention. But seems to care. Maybe too much though.

I am Scottish and cannot STAND Tessa , her voice makes me cringe, as a pp said, she is a vile bully , ironically terribly dressed with awful claggy foundation and is soooo desperate for people to consider her the new Kris Jenner ( momager T-shirt ?!)

Tessa tried to make her look ugly for that fashion shoot , what was that wig and black lipstick all about? It was just bitchy. She looked good in the end though!

Love Kate and her terrible outfits and huge boobs , she seems a really nice person . And very Kate O Mara! I'd love to cut her hair just a wee bit though...
Like Margaret ( think she's been told to TALK SLOWLY cos of Glaswegian accent, we talk super fast!) she seems funny and quite kind

I follow Kate on Instagram (for shame) and there she is tonight making dinner with Margaret before they watch the show. I'm a little about that since we're not supposed to be mixing indoors at the moment thus I haven't seen a single sole except my DP since Boxing Day.

If anyone is interested by the way a couple of local guys are releasing a weekly podcast alongside housewives and it's absolutely hilarious (I wouldn't listen with kids around though!)

Just been googling and Tessa is 50, her husband Sascha is 40 and their eldest child together is 23?!

@ImInStealthMode the rest of the thread explains why they are allowed to meet etc Jersey appears to have different rules as us.

May I also start with a caveat that I realise that these people's characters have been exaggerated so I'm actually just talking about their pretend "characters". I hate being mean online but I none of my chums watch this kinda of stuff!! Or maybe they don't admit to it!!

Anyway ... poor Ashley isn't the brightest is she? When she was doing that word association with Tessa's husband .... cringeworthy .... the words she didn't understand. Although he wasn't very nice, he could have just then used words when he realised she didn't understand them. But that doesn't make good tv.

Jane ... oh Jane! She's another not so bright one. Does she say in the intro that people hate her because she's CUTE??? Wtf?? Do you think she was told to throw her drink over Ashley? I mean who does that in real life???

If anyone find any links to their backgrounds please post them. I've been Googling like and but can't find much. Except some guy on Twitter who was given Tessa a roasting about how mean she was when he delivered a Chinese Takeaway. But who knows if it's true :)

@diamondsandrose just had a look myself and apparently she set up her company with her husband 25 years ago........that would have made him 15??!!!! So unless she's talking about another ex who must be the dad to the elder two then she's in trouble.

@TartanLassie I live in Jersey too so I know what the current restrictions are! We're not supposed to be meeting up indoors at the moment, it's not strictly illegal but cooking dinner & watching Housewives (that you're in) doesn't strike me as being essential either
