Thinking back to the Dean/Davina showdown I just don’t understand why Tracey was given a chance to change her mind about Dean and Ryan wasn’t able to change his mind about Davina.

The only reason is because Davina is so awful she’s good tv.

And maybe they knew that Tracey could be manipulated into staying whereas given the option at the time Ryan almost certainly would have left.

What was the story with Matt and his drinking? I've completely missed that. Can someone summarise please?

I can't remember the details - someone with better recall can fill in the details - but effectively he was getting more and more stressed and wound up; all of her attempts to coax him and be pleasant just served to irritate him and make him mildly aggressive (in his tone).

He said that she was too good for him and he couldn't relax with her and she wanted a knight in shining armour and he wasn't that man. He had nothing to talk to her about as they were so different.

Effectively, he was getting more and more jumpy - I suspect he was desperate for a night sinking pints followed by a kebab and a long dreamless bladdered sleep in a skip somewhere. He is a lager and pie and quick sh*g behind the bins bloke, and she wants champagne and lobsters and romance.

I can see why his mother was so thrilled t have him married off. A shame in a way, because he wasn't a bad man at all - just way out of his depth and with the wrong woman. As usual, the "experts" were sacrificing the female half of the partnership to "fix" the male.

Just finished the series, and watching the reunion I realised who Davina reminded me of. After racking my brains for days it came to me in a flash that she's the wicked witch from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs.
Great news is that the waiter who announces dinner has moved on from "Dinner is serve Ed" to "served". So at least he wasn't one of the participants wasting his time.

This was actually the highlight of my evening - I used to say it with him.

I actually really judge Tracey for being so fucking stupid as to take Thumbface back.

If they'd been in a 20 year marriage, had kids, had stresses and strains and he'd text another woman in a moment of boredom/frustration I can understand her forgiving him and not throwing their life out the window.

But they've been together for THREE WEEKS and she's happy to be a massive doormat. Last night when Thumbface was telling the story of how he plotted to steal another man's wife and dump Tracey, he said at the end something not-actually-very-romantic like "Tracey is an amazing girl she's great" and she actually said "Aw isn't he sweet"

Someone whose had that much (AWFUL, she should sue) plastic surgery clearly has self esteem issues so my I can't imagine how she is gonna take it when she finds out Thumbface told DaviNA that "Tracey's looks aren't her greatest feature"

How heartbreaking it is to see how many women are made to feel so insecure about their appearance that they do these things to their perfectly healthy, and often very beautiful, bodies.

I'm no oil painting (well - possibly a Picasso), but I wouldn't put myself through that.

My twopeniths worth re thumbface's complete U-turn back in to Tracy's arms is that he and Davina were all for getting together and binning their spouses and taking each other on to the home stays... cue a complete 180 to wanting to try again with Tracy. I believe the producers told him that no, he can't take another wife to homestays and he'll have to leave the show if he wants to be with Davina. Watch him drop her like it's hot once he's had all the airtime and payment he can squeeze out of the show...

Yes - it's getting old.

I could almost feel sorry for Thumbface - and it's obvious he doesn't want a relationship after the experiment - but he is so VILE he really, really deserves every humiliating moment he gets. I just worry that he will take it out on Tracey because she is really making him seethe.

I can't understand Tracey's parents being so "understanding".If that git had treated my DD like that I would have painted the walls with his life\s blood!

It was the same with her friends - they obviously didn't like him, but accepted her excuses for his behaviour.

Is she so emotionally fragile that they just don't want to cross or upset her in case they send her onto a downward spiral? That's all that I can think of - that they are afraid she'll withdraw from the, to keep him, and that when the crash comes, she won't have loving network around her to keep her together. I could see her cutting everyone off to "stand by her man".

She's a very sad and wounded creature, poor soul.
