Sorry - miserable title, but I just noticed we were nearly out of thread.

Nasser was like the Princess and the pea with those bed slats. Making out that he was in agony with his back because a few slats went? I wouldn't have noticed!

Tracey and Sean have a really dysfunctional relationship. If she's willing to take him back after the the betrayal she really needs to move on from it and stop revelling.

Sean was a twat. Blair is just another notch on his bedpost.

AltheaThoon · 02/09/2020 22:34

Dean not Sean.

YourVagesty · 02/09/2020 23:00

Sean is just dead inside. I've got no idea what his story is and at this point, I don't care.

OH! BY THE WAY!!! Does anybody know what happened to his forehead? He had a massive red mark for ages with no explanation?

rainbowlou · 02/09/2020 23:09

Checking in!

I wonder if the ‘quieter’ (nicer) couples look at the likes of Dean/Tracy/Davina/big Sean etc and appreciate their partner so much more?!

Egghead68 · 02/09/2020 23:15

Part of me wonders whether Sean and Justin have already got partners outside the “experiment”. Neither of them seems to have been remotely engaged in the process.

Eaumyword · 02/09/2020 23:16

Maybe Sean burned his forehead with his styling tongs?Grin

Italiangreyhound · 03/09/2020 00:03

I had to look up 'Pyrrhic victory' LarkDescending. There was a picture of a dog jumping off a cliff to catch a bird.

I think that says it all. Thank you.

I think part of the trouble is neither Deano nor Davina really knew what they have done. Because Davina wanted to do it, and because Dean didn't actually have sex with her he doesn't understand that he massively betrayed Tracey, and further blindsided her by talking about his betrayal at the 'commitment' ceremony, oh the irony.

I think Carly needs to give up on Justine, he is not for her. I can't blame him if he isn't attracted to her. Of course she is an attractive woman but perhaps just not his type. I think he just needs to admit it.

I think that would be the honorable thing to do.

Sleeping with the partner and then saying that they don't see a future is not the honorable thing and that is what Sean did.

I wanted to see more of Patrick and Charlene but I was so sleepy I think I missed that bit!

John and Mel bore me. The fact they both have kids and she has a school age child and grandchild means she isn't free to move easily. It sounds like they live quite close by but I don't know, things are quite spread out in Oz!

I though Ashley stepped up but I am still not sure why a stunning, fashionable women with amazing long blonde hair aged 28 needs to go on a show to meet a fella.

Nasser is not for Gabrielle and she just needs to cut her losses and go. She rented a place because she didn't want her young daughter to have to have a unknown guy come and live in the house. I don't blame her but why go on that programme.

Sarah and Telv are a breath of fresh air.

They certainly made Australia look fabulous.

Colouringaddict · 03/09/2020 00:40

Loving Sarah and Telv, Charlene and Patrick, but the others I feel are just treading water, looking for fame, apart from Gabrielle maybe.
Carly it’s never gonna happen love, cut your losses and cuddle up to the pig, it shows far more personality than your husband!

happinessischocolate · 03/09/2020 06:36

Yep, personalityless needs to be added to the boatless, employeeless, presentless groom.

They had a view over the whole of the city and still neither of them could think of anything to say to make conversation. Nothing. Nada. People may think John and Mel are boring but at least they can both make conversation.

houseymcmousey · 03/09/2020 07:04

The first time I saw Nasser I assumed he was going to be on the show marrying a guy. It seems clear as day to me (and this may have been discussed already, I've only just found the thread!)

Justin is a personality vacuum. Carly seems like an intelligent woman so why she’s hanging in there I don’t know.

Nasser is just mean, I hope Gabi says leave again and he does too at the end of the week as he’s just stringing her along.

Tracey is a fool.

I thought John and Mel had promise but after this episode I’m not so sure.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/09/2020 07:59

I am sort of glad Nasser is showing his true colours. I ( smugly) had him down as a superficial tosser from the start and never felt any love for him. He's got shifty eyes. ( And the rest)

LarkDescending · 03/09/2020 08:13

I would like to see much more of Patrick and Charlene, and understand what is going on with them.

I never really bonded with Blair and Sean as I missed their wedding episode and they barely featured after that, but I cringed to see her wittering on about “a glimmer of hope” to Sean as he was telling her bluntly, and not for the first time, that he wasn’t into her.

The desperate clinging on to no-hope men is painful to watch. See also: Tracey, Gab and even Carly.

Mel on the other hand appears to have a happy, settled life in a place she loves and isn’t going to chuck it all in for NPJohn or anyone else. Good for her.

Out of interest , does anyone know , from those who have watched all the series , whether Australia MAFS has had a same sex “marriage” ? Or is Australia not ready for this ?
Egghead68 · 03/09/2020 09:18

They had a same sex marriage in series 3. It had to be conducted in New Zealand as not legal in Oz at the time (although as the marriages are fake anyhow I’m not sure why this mattered).

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/09/2020 09:46

Nasser is beyond all redemption - how can Gab not see it ? She seems intelligent enough . She must really want the relationship to work but she looks close to tears most of the time

I think she can see it - she wanted to leave at the commitment ceremony (Nasser's face was picture - he was biting back his rage!), but was told that if he didn't agree she had to stay at least another week - I also felt that they put pressure on her to make more effort ( [hmm!] )*.

I think Gabrielle is seriously clinically depressed at the moment, and because she is low, she is doubting herself and perhaps feels it IS her fault - and also doesn't have the energy to fight the situation and stand up for herself.

I'm really hoping that her sister tears Nasser a new bumhole for the way he is behaving. He's definitely punishing Gabrielle for wanting to leave the show before he is ready to go.

*This is also what everybody seems to be telling Ashley - "you need to make more effort "- THE WOMAN IS A SAINT! I would have throttled that idiot in his sleep long before now. Angry

I remember on the first S5 thread where most of us saw nasser and instantly disliked him, but then when he and Gab got married and he seemed to have substance to him, we let him off the hook ( not fuzzypuffling as you’ve always had his number, lol) and now he’s shown his colours in the worst possible way, we’ve reverted back to calling him a prat, lol

I was so cheesed off when I saw how he switched but annoyingly as watched ahead I couldn’t discuss it. I’m so glad it is at this point now.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/09/2020 09:47

What was the story with Matt and his drinking? I've completely missed that. Can someone summarise please?
