Strictly 2020, Bubbles and no Bruno?

I’m not sure if there is a thread already, please direct me to it if there is!

It’s summer which means its the time of year I start musing about which celebs might be up for the glitter ball trophy this year! I was a bit worried we might not be getting a series this year but a quick google reassured me plans are in place.

So it looks like they are hoping for bubbles between the stars and professionals families, possibly weekly CV testing and temp checks. Hair, make up and costume to be done with PPE. Sounds like they could put on a fairly similar show to normal. No audience though, which will be weird. And I guess no gathering of contestants for the scores, which will be weird. Will the whole thing lack atmosphere?

We're usually away this week and they announce whilst we're away - so fingers crossed for some news soon.

Still not really any substantial news as far as I've seen... unless I've missed something? I haven't seen any judge announcement or any celeb news, even the rumours of celebs have died right down from the looks of it.

I did notice they have cancelled the Christmas Special & are replacing it with a different show.

It's all very odd, I would have thought they'd have started to announce the celebs by now even with a shorter series.

I did see that Neil has a new partner ( a fellow dancer) , seems to be doing well. I hope he gets a celeb again this year. I loved some of his routines with Alex last year, and was gutted when he had his injury.

If there's no strictly, there will be no strictly threads. Honestly the glitterball gossip gets me through the dark evenings of autumn.

Shirley Ballas and Co are all insisting it will go ahead. We'd better watch this space!

I saw they were doing a series of "specials" or best of type programmes which I assumed was instead of a full series. I cant believe we wouldnt know any celebs by now if there was going to be a normal series.

Apparently the BBC have issued a statement saying it will certainly go ahead, but with fewer episodes. Still no confirmation of any celebs, though.

How is this going to work? So with the news that they aren't going to replace Bruno, I'm even less certain that it's going to go ahead despite the BBC saying it will.

More line up rumours but these look mostly terrible, so hoping there's no truth in them.

Still no confirmation, but some news outlets are reporting Cheryl is still topped to replace Bruno, so god knows what's going on. But I wish the Beeb would hurry up and make more official announcements regarding this year.

I wouldn't pay any attention to rumoured line ups. Craig himself sneered at the thought of Gemma Collins being a contestant last year some time.

According to Instagram the professionals have arrived at their hotel to isolate ahead of filming the pro dance numbers.

I think she was strongly rumoured last year wasn't she? So I wouldn't be surprised.

I noticed Kate on Twitter last night, speaking to the one of the costume designers.

As a PP said, I'd heard that Matilda Ramsey was a target (she's very competitive) but I think she's broken her arm recently so that might put her out of the running for this year.

I'm still hoping for Owain the weather man. Bruno is definitely staying in the States but might manage the last few weeks. I thought I'd read that he might be contributing from home, but the time difference would make that tricky!

Owain would be great fun! Has he been mentioned?
