I’m not sure if there is a thread already, please direct me to it if there is!

It’s summer which means its the time of year I start musing about which celebs might be up for the glitter ball trophy this year! I was a bit worried we might not be getting a series this year but a quick google reassured me plans are in place.

So it looks like they are hoping for bubbles between the stars and professionals families, possibly weekly CV testing and temp checks. Hair, make up and costume to be done with PPE. Sounds like they could put on a fairly similar show to normal. No audience though, which will be weird. And I guess no gathering of contestants for the scores, which will be weird. Will the whole thing lack atmosphere?

Oh I’m so glad ITT is back as well. Wasn’t sure it would be with everything going on but I suppose BBC will want full mileage out of their Strictly investment this year! I really liked Rylan presenting (more than Zoe). I especially like when the lady who does the costumes (name escapes me right now!) is on. I’d love to know more about that side of it. Especially this year!

I didn’t think the COvid procedures were mentioned too much for the launch show. It’s sort of “setting the scene” so made sense to really drive home how they are doing this safely and within govt rules. I’m sure (I hope!!) as they series progresses there will be less mention of this. Perhaps just a reminder recap at start of each episode but not constant mentions. I agree we all want some escapism so I’d be disappointed if the level of Covid chat is as frequent in all episodes but understand the launch show.

I prefer Rylan on ITT too! I thought he'd be doing 3 days since Zoe has the R2 breakfast show. I find Zoe a crap interviewer - her questions are inane and she talks too fast/ over her guests constantly

I've not really been following the Strictly goss in the off-season, did AJ quit or was his contract not renewed? I thought the Beeb were quite into him for the younger demographic.

I was under the impression AJ wanted to develop a meedja career. Not sure how that's going. I see he's tipped for I'm A Celeb. I fear he may regret leaving Strictly - it's a regular paycheck and exposure afterall - but perhaps he found it too constricting.

The names and faces are a bit confusing this year, JJ , HRVY..... plus hair styles\colours changing.

Am I the only one that really dislikes Karen’s new hair colour and cut? I mean it’s obviously her choice, I’m just not sure I think such a short crop suits her and the weird colour matching with Jamie, whilst not intentional, is just 🤔

It doesn't do much for her Cave Maybe it's to tell her apart from Janette I used to get them confused.

I’m not a fan of Karen’s hair either. I absolutely loved it when she had it buzz cut on one side then kept a long fringe that was sort of styled up

Nah I'm to old to appreciate half buzz cuts, even worse IMO .

I’m not a fan of Karen’s hair, but at least she now stands out amongst the other pros - I often struggle to work out who’s who in the pro dances when they’re whizzing around quickly and all you can see is a mass of long blondish/brownish hair which is what all the other female pros seem to have (Diane excepted!).
