I thought I might as well start it. As then I won't have to go searching for the new thread.

I've no idea why but I've thought for a while that Clare was gay.

Same here.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 26/06/2020 14:52

It would appear so

Binglebong · 26/06/2020 16:08

@MonsteraCheeseplant

And I think the criticisms were really comparing the difference between fitting a dress to a woman's figure versus a man's. Clearly it is easier fitting to a man.
That's my objection. Models should all be the same sex to present a similar level of challenge.
Al1Langdownthecleghole · 26/06/2020 16:36

I've no idea why but I've thought for a while that Clare was gay.

I don't think that affects her ability to sew. Or presumably her career as a lung surgeon.

mouldygrapes · 26/06/2020 16:48

I bet Claire's mum would be over the moon if Claire met a lovely man and gave her a grandchild!

Dunno, she seemed pretty damn proud of her just as she is. It’s not all about procreation.

IntermittentParps · 26/06/2020 16:49

Al1Langdownthecleghole, that's very presumptuous and rather a silly thing to say. Where do I say I think it does? And how do you know I'm not myself gay?

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 26/06/2020 16:55

No? I see no reason to comment on a thread about a sewing competition about who a contestant chooses to have sex with.

Who you have sex with isn't relevant either.

IntermittentParps · 26/06/2020 16:58

Al1Langdownthecleghole, show me your thread police badge and I'll hold my hands up.

Otherwise, maybe stop being daft; people can say what they like and often speculate mildly on contestants' lives/personalities etc on these threads.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 26/06/2020 17:02

Oh dear I think the hot weather must be getting to us!

IntermittentParps · 26/06/2020 17:06

Monstera, yeah Grin

On that subject (kind of): anyone else having weird issues with this thread? It doesn't appear in my Active conversations, or if I look in the Telly Addicts section. I can only get to it by finding the previous thread and clicking on the link that someone set up for this one. Confused

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 17:42

Have you accidentally hidden the thread?

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 17:43

@Al1Langdownthecleghole

No? I see no reason to comment on a thread about a sewing competition about who a contestant chooses to have sex with.

Who you have sex with isn't relevant either.

The only reason it was mentioned was because of the "find a nice man..." comment.
SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 17:46

Models should all be the same sex to present a similar level of challenge.

It doesn't present a similar level of challenge if you are used to fitting the other sex.

The models as have all been the same sex apart from this challenge and the one with the children. Infact, apart from the shirt challenge they have all been female.

exLtEveDallas · 26/06/2020 18:01

I preferred Nicole’s final dress to Claire’s, but Claire’s kilt was fantastic and she was a worthy winner.

I liked Matt’s dress, but actually thought he had a huge advantage, as he has made numerous dresses/outfits for his partner, whereas I doubt the ladies had. He knows, intimately, his partners measurements/dimensions and is used to dressing him. I also agree it’s easier to dress a flat chested male than a ‘lumpy’ female!

IntermittentParps · 26/06/2020 18:04

Soup, I did hide it ages ago as I didn't watch the final until last night so didn't want to spoiler myself. But now I've got the option at the top to 'Hide this thread', so can only assume it's NOT hidden. Have hidden and unhidden it a few times too, and even logged out of my account and back in, to no avail.

Really odd.

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 18:32

The option to "hide this thread is there even when it's hidden.

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 18:34

I've just hidden it and unhidden it and it has disappeared and reappeared as expected.

I guess you'll sort it just in time for the thread to die a natural death 😂

IntermittentParps · 26/06/2020 18:36

Probably Grin

MorrisZapp · 26/06/2020 18:40

They were all lovely but Nicole was my absolute fave. So lovely to get little bits of back story in the final! Hope lockdown doesn't play havoc with creating next year's. It's a relatively cheap programme but it serves as national diazepam.

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 18:52

Hope lockdown doesn't play havoc with creating next year's

OMG! Don't say that!

That hadn't even crossed my mind... noooooooo! They can film in the autumn, surely.... it'll be fine...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/06/2020 20:18

I liked Matt’s dress, but actually thought he had a huge advantage, as he has made numerous dresses/outfits for his partner, whereas I doubt the ladies had. He knows, intimately, his partners measurements/dimensions and is used to dressing him.

That's a good point.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/06/2020 20:20

Course it will . . . they can wear masks and everything . . . I'll even offer to go in every night and disinfect the sewing room.

SoupDragon · 26/06/2020 20:34

I'll clean the haberdashery.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/06/2020 20:43

Excellent Soup

We'll work it between us.

We can do this . . .

Jellykat · 26/06/2020 20:43

Guess what!
I actually went to my local Haberdasheries today, they reopened yesterday.. i practically ran in, and said 'boy, am i glad to see you lovely ladies', i could've kissed the ground.. it was sooo good to have a catch up and see it all again! (also to tell mum owner off for not wearing her face shield, shes in her 70s)
So happy Grin
