Lark that is some list- when you consider that up to 2/3 weeks ago, the players were all isolating in various parts of the world, and doing instagram chats!

Lark this is the thing, no one knows the long term affects of it. Or even, at this stage, if you can get it again. It's the arrogance of people like Djok (who infuences a lot of people), who is going to put a lot of people in danger. Well, he already is. We said he would, when he was spouting his anti-vax views.

Raahh Yes. The arrogance. Risking not just the health and livelihoods of the players who took part (and their families, coaching teams, spectators etc) but also the viability of the tour going forward. This story is just so damaging to tennis as a whole.

To lighten the mood I’ve just seen a picture of Rafa on a jetski - I’m sure he’s got some trunks on but it’s not obvious from the picture - although I’m not sure that naked jetskiing would be a good idea

I'm just watching the GB thing at the mo, the place looks practically deserted apart from the players and some coaches, I presume, dotted around. There aren't even any line judges!

There's a women's exhibition event in Charleston this week as well, and that also sounds like they have all sorts of restrictions etc in place.

I think it was either Dan Evans or Kyrgios who said they should be leading by example - you have to agree!

Private I think I’ll have a look at the Brits tournament just to see what it looks like but it just makes me want to watch proper tennis . I’m sure they’ll be being extra extra careful now.

I think both Kyrgios and Dan Evans have been pretty scathing about Djok.

I watched the second half of the first GB match and was impressed with the standard of tennis. Really enjoyed watching a good match and didn't really notice there were no line judges, ball boys and girls etc. The biggest difference obviously is no spectators, so no noise, but you get used to it. Giving it a break now but would like to watch the Evans and Murray matches later. Annabel announced the Cock news after the doubles match. DH's reaction was "brilliant! Don't wish them any harm....but brilliant!!"

Is anyone else watching Andy's match just now? He's looking good from what I can tell.

I just saw the end Spidey so couldn’t really see how well Andy was moving. It does look a bit as if it’s taking place in a school hall with garden benches for the players to sit on.

Was pleased that they just touched racquets and nodded to the umpire at the end of the match.

I am no fan of Djoko but hopes of course he and Jelena recover, and all the others, but -cant believe I'm defending him here!- hes not the only one to blame, surely?

Dan Evans is spouting off on one again, but the other players could have said No to the tourney, no?

and the crowd should have had more common sense and social distanced,

ALL the players shouldn't have been touching each other, playing basketball and dancing too.

They could have ALL turned around and said , ''no, Novak, its a stupid and crazy idea, and we wont risk ours, or anyone elses health.''

I note that Andy is still playing his chances down. He played some brilliantly instinctive shots at times but he also looked and sounded knackered at other times

Looking forward to more tomorrow. I think it's showing a more positive side to tennis after the disaster of Cock and his clueless chums.

Djok has been vocal about being an anti -vaxer. His wife has a negative disclaimer on her instagram account , because she claimed Covid was caused by 5g signals. Unfortunately, he does himself no favours. He is the world number one, with a lot of clout and influence. Of course, the other players should have been more sensible- but they followed his lead.

I'm sorry, but I blame him , and his team. He did it to raise his profile- because he thought people would like him more. It has back fired , in a big way.

kazza the bit I liked was the headset interviews with Andy at the changeover

He didn't really seem to rate his performance but I thought he was good, especially considering how long it is since he played. Some lovely volleys!

On a more important point private I wish Andy would trim his beard a bit. It's far too scruffy and patchy and is half way down his neck.
