I have thought all along that really, the rest of the year should have been scrapped. I don't want it to be - but tennis is an international sport. Too much travel involved. I am not even convinced Rafa will play in RG, he was certainly not sure when he was interviewed, afterall, he has spent months in a country with strict lockdown, not able to go out, and no tennis court to practice on.

And there's Djok and his mates, acting as though nothing is happening.

I have to agree with you Raahh - I also think the whole year should have been scrapped. It’s not a level playing field. As you say some players are from countries that have been hit really hard eg. Spain, Italy, France, Uk. I don’t think tennis should come back until all players can safely participate - whenever that might be

Meanwhile, back in the real world, the Battle of the Brits starts tomorrow. No spectators, no hugging at the net or socialising at limbo parties, hand sanitisers and one way arrows everywhere, a socially distanced player's lounge and repeated testing of players.

DS and DH have just gone off to the local tennis club for an hour, so I have the house to myself for a bit - bliss . I think the club only opened again a week or two back. We aren't members but you can book pay and play. DS doesn't have lessons this afternoon and I was getting fed up with the pair of them, so thought I'd see if a court was free. Only booked it an hour ago, for 3-4pm. Result! £7 well spent! They did ask if I wanted to play aswell but obviously, that would have defeated the whole point of it

DS1 has got a temporary job starting on Thursday so I’m wondering if I might get some time to myself at long last. I could send them all to IKEA again but that cost more than £7.00!

And from a health point of view, we don't know the long term affects of Covid. Just because he is young, doesn't mean he might not be affected. Soderling was young- mono destroyed his health and career.

I was thinking that Raahh - I was reading over the weekend about a young, fit person who had Covid and has really struggled to get back to any sort of fitness - it’s not a harmless virus than can just be shaken off - fingers crossed they will all be ok and will make good recoveries.

Fizzy for all his fitness, Djok never looks well to me, anyway, with his gaunt expression . I hope all the players recover- and that they haven't passed anything onto anyone else that is affected in a worse way. I also hope the Adria tour is now cancelled.
