Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

**the the off spring not Tyrion!!

RuffleCrow · 27/04/2019 09:27

I'm not sure tv Daenerys was going to marry her brother?! Haven't read the books. I'm sure she has expressed some distaste about the inbreeding at some stage. Can't remember when.

hellodarkness · 27/04/2019 09:56

I can't see Sansa and Theon together romantically. They grew up as children together and surely only see each other as siblings. If it happens, it has come out of nowhere imo and would be very unsatisfying. For me it's enough to know that she has forgiven him everything, and that he is redeemed and loved.

Just read a complicated theory that Bran will ask Theon to kill him so that he can become a WW, albeit an all-seeing, all-knowing one with the benefit of foresight.

Honeyroar · 27/04/2019 10:43

I can't see that hellodarkness, how does he know he will retain his independence and faculties if he becomes a Ww? None of the others have.

Re Sansa and Theon, despite her looking at him a bit lovey dovey, they must be in the friends zone. Theon had his bits cut off, he couldn't have a relationship. I think their hug was the end of the circle for him, he's come back to the fold, been accepted back into the family, not just as an apprentice but as a valued and loved family member.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 27/04/2019 11:25

Yes, Jacqen has to have a more significant part surely, and the many faced god storyline has to have something else to it too as there was loads and loads of focus on it for seemingly nothing, all thats came of it so far is Arya killed the Freys. It cannot just have been for that.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 11:39

Between this and Line of Duty I’m a nervous wreck.

Everyone seems very convinced that Jaime will survive and kill Cersei, but I’m not so sure - it’s tricky because almost everyone has a reason to kill Cersei and I’m not sure Jaime is the one to do it. I’d much prefer him to sacrifice himself for Brienne, although I guess that will be Tormund’s job.

The gooey love eyes between Theon and Sansa made me a bit sick. Sure, he saved you from Ramsay, but his actions led to Ramsay being at Winterfell in the first place. And I’m not sure it’s ever possible to fall in love with a man after spending months around him as Reek, especially him having witnessed her being violently raped. Hardly the basis of a great love. Sansa deserves better after all she’s dealt with.

Also, they’ve just given me Gendry back and they’ve made him ridiculously hot
so if they take him away so soon I will not be pleased.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 11:40

Even without the trailer, we all know shit is going to go down in the crypt. They have just had way too many scenes down there, and way too much focus on the statues - it’s almost as if they’re going to somehow animate, the camera is so obsessed with them.

agirlhasnonameX · 27/04/2019 12:02

Theon and Sansa 🤮 just no. Plus Theon is definitely going to die.

I can't stay up this week to watch (killed me last week and there was no school), does anyone know how to stop notifications from this thread coming through on my phone (use the app)? If I hide the thread can I find it again?

hellodarkness · 27/04/2019 12:22

Honey, I think the theory is that he would be the three eyed raven/WW combination and therefore an ultimate weapon. He does seem quite unconcerned that the NK is en route.

I do hope that Jaime survives or at least goes out heroically. I'd love it if he killed the NK actually, he is the Kingslayer after all.

Surely there must be some significance to the fact that Jon has already died otherwise what would be the point of that whole storyline.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 12:49

Surely there must be some significance to the fact that Jon has already died otherwise what would be the point of that whole storyline.

They had to put it in because it’s the biggest cliffhanger hanging over the readers, and that’s not even getting into the necessity of proving Melissandre can bring people back which I think we’ll be coming back to.

ElenadeClermont · 27/04/2019 13:05

If Theon killed Bran, Bran would only become a wight (zombie). I thought only show Night King could create white walkers, probably from babies.

Although book Night's King (the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch) was an adult when he married a white walker woman. I am not sure if he was killed in the ensuing war or fled and been turned a white walker.

IceniSky · 27/04/2019 13:07

I think there is some significance in the amount of times they point out which characters have Valerian steel blades.

And Uncle Benjin, Jon, Barec and The Mountain were all brought back from the dead. Wonder if that has significance?

yumyumpoppycat · 27/04/2019 17:13

Aberforthsgoat - jacquen is rhaegar? That would be very interesting if true and a big plot twist. I am glad that character is thought to be back. I would def watch a walking dead/survivors type game of thrones sequel but wouldn't really want it to go that way.

I don't necessarily want arya to be NK but I want him to be someone important and not Bran. I would kind of like her to settle down with gendry but her character has gone through and done so much that it is like she needs a less normal ending.

I think that whatever goes down in battle will make Theon shake off a bit more Reek. I don't think Sansa would want a traditional husband she will be independent and in charge, Theon would just be someone who she can now trust and who understands her. Sansa was pretty unlikeable at first too in trying to pursue what she felt her destiny was as a young teen. I don't think Theon will survive though.

I don't think Jamie will kill Cersie in a stab her in the chest kind of way, but she cant really survive and I don't think she can die in childbirth as there isn't time?

Aberforthsgoat · 27/04/2019 17:18

@yumyumpoppycat it's a theory apparently! That would be unexpected I think. I can't recall how Raegar died - I know in battle, but did King Robert actually kill him? I feel like he lamented the fact that it wasn't him who struck the fatal blow or something...
Maybe it would explain why Arya was allowed to return home without any consequences to failing her training/not staying on (did she fail? I kind of thought she passed as the waif was the final test)...if he somehow knew through the many faced God that she would be going back to Winterfell and linking up with Dany...or if he knew that Jon is ihis son and Arya is his cousin/Raegar's niece, hence why the interest in her...seems a bit out of left field though, although it's GOT so anything is possible

I'd like Arya to settle down with Gendry - I think precisely because she's had such a random journey to this point, it would be nice to see her reclaim her humanity/her personality and actually be like you know what, after all this, being happy with someone is actually enough. Albeit someone who is super hot and makes badass weapons, so she'd never be a proper 'lady' :D

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 17:29

Theon had his bits cut off, he couldn't have a relationship.

Doesn’t seem to be stopping Grey Worm, does it?

Honeyroar · 27/04/2019 17:39

Have they achieved more than a kiss Sinkgirl?

Holidayshopping · 27/04/2019 17:41

Did Grey Worm have all his tackle cut off or just his balls? Blush

SweetSummerchild · 27/04/2019 17:45

If Sansa does end up as Lady of Winterfell in the end (looking increasingly likely) then she will be expected to make some sort of political marriage to produce heirs. It’s just the way the society works.

I could see her doing an Olenna Redwyne and marrying someone ‘mostly harmless’ who she could then easily manipulate - like Robert/Robin Arryn.

In the books I could see Sansa marrying no one but Rickon surviving as a ‘wild child’ and later having children who could be heirs to Winterfell.

I don’t know what significance Robb’s Will (removing Sansa from succession to Winterfell) will possibly have. Either way, I don’t see Sansa remarrying Tyrion. If it happens, I’ll be seriously pissed off.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 27/04/2019 17:48

Have they achieved more than a kiss Sinkgirl?

They did “many things”.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 17:48

Seriously, they better not kill Gendry. I will be very displeased. Super hot is right, he’s come a long way from Skins 😂

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 17:49

All of his tackle, I believe.

I mean, does Theon still have his balls? If so, they can certainly make do, if Grey Worm is so hot for Missandei without them. Regardless, they’re definitely “in a relationship”!

Aberforthsgoat · 27/04/2019 17:51

@sinkgirl same, same. Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 27/04/2019 17:54

Aber I def would like to see some really clever fan theory woven in to the finale -and it will be brilliant to have another scene with jacqen and Arya. I am torn between wanting that happy Gendry ending for Arya - if the world becomes less civilised after whatever goes down badass arya with gendry making weapons for her is def what's needed. I could see her protecting a child - be it Jon's or her own.

Given everything that's happened to her with men I don't think Sansa will be bothered about Theon's missing sausage. Also there aren't that many great candidates her age out there for her at the moment? I think she will just be happy to survive and stay at winterfell with some one who wants to protect her. If theon dies and as a result she has a little more faith in men it will be lovely to think the character might go on to have a real love.

SinkGirl · 27/04/2019 18:03

There aren’t. At the very start I said to DH, if they’re going to pair everyone up, who does Sansa get lumped with this time? I was not pleased when it was Theon.

She deserves a lovely handsome chap but apparently the handsome ones don’t make it through this many battles. Jon, Jaime and Gendry are the only handsome men left and none would really cut it would they?

(Tormund obviously, but an acquired taste)

I’ve got it - Podrick! That amazing sex thing must have relevance at some point Grin

TeaForTheWin · 27/04/2019 18:09

Why do we always have to reduce women characters to their child baring ability? 'ooh Brienne will end up raising jamies and cericis baby' (great, strong awesome fighter woman to - nanny). 'Ooh danereys will die in childbirth', 'Ooh arya and gendry will have babies' (vom. I definitely don'w want to see arya popping out kids. She's a warrior...not a 'brood mare' xD). Totally don't want to see any of that.
