I’ve binge watched for 2 days as I’m ill. I never tire of it. I have one niggle: about Pete and Dawn’s children. Why do they look so young in the vow renewal scene? If they were that young, they’d have been round at Pam and Mick’s all the time too.

Was a bit weird yesterday seeing Pam Ferris in G and S followed by Matilda.

My favourite characters are Ness and Bryn. I like Ness the way I liked Father Jack. Every single thing they say is funny and you just want to hear more.

It is the same person. Marco is also who hires Stacey to work at the ice cream/snack stand at the beach on the island.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 14/01/2019 17:45

I love when the wedding DJ calls them Kevin and Tracey.

Helipad · 14/01/2019 19:08

two soups It's about 1-1.5hrs from Swansea to Barry Island. Barry Island is very close to Cardiff, If it helps.

Helipad, I wish Pam was my Mum. I love her.

icelollycraving · 14/01/2019 22:03

What's the big pen? Have I missed something Confused

DisposableNN · 15/01/2019 07:10

The big pen was referred to when Pam made a huge banner to welcome G and S back from their honeymoon ( its not a honeymoon, its just a holiday! Grin ) and Pam couldn't spell Stacy because of the big pen.

Pinkyponkcustard · 15/01/2019 07:10

@WheresThatCatGoneNow it’s the first episode of the second series where Gavin and Stacey come back from honeymoon and Pam and Mick meet them at the airport.

Pam has made a really ott banner and took ages doing it because she was confused about how to spell Stacey “because of the big pen”

Totally a thing - When I used to train I used to forget how to spell stuff on the whiteboard “because of the big pen”

Crosspost!

This has brought back so many happy memories! That a tonight's entertainment sorted. I noticed the pp who asked what age kids could watch it - was thinking my 13 yr old would like it but I'm not sure of the first ep and the toilet brush!

ItsJustASimpleLine · 15/01/2019 08:02

I remember laughing at the 'big pen' but 2 kids later I totally understand ho2 this can happen. Blush

SavageBeauty73 · 15/01/2019 08:05

My 13 year old twins have watched it but lots of things have gone over their head. My now 16 year old said she didn't get loads of the ruder references when she watched it younger.

We love it. It's so brilliant. We've always hoped they would do a one off special,

Neil. The baby would be 11 now!

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 15/01/2019 11:17

I bet the references wouldn’t go over NTB’s head! He’ll be a very streetwise kid!

My 12 & 14 year olds love it.

LuckyLou7 · 15/01/2019 11:53

One of the many poignant moments was when Smithy bought Neil the baby his first Westham shirt, and Dave Coaches announced he'd already got him a Cardiff shirt. Smithy looked utterly betrayed and Nessa looked really uncomfortable.

glamorousgrandmother · 15/01/2019 14:08

was thinking my 13 yr old would like it but I'm not sure of the first ep and the toilet brush!
I'm not even sure what they did with the toilet brush so I would think it would go over a 13 year old's head. Ditto when Nessa was telling Dave nothing had happened between her and Smithy when they woke up in bed together because 'I didn't have my bag or my tools … or my cape'.

Kelpiex2 · 15/01/2019 14:30

I'm listening to desert island discs. Definitely worth it Smile

My DD's best mate is nicknamed Smithy in this house because she's always here. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we didn't see her quite as often as we usually do. On Christmas Eve, she rocks up mid afternoon and dishes out some celebrations, individually wrapped, in tin foil!😂
