A new adventure awaits us in the New World. It's going to be savage!

I've watched this in pieces on my tablet, as I have an ill dd2 on my lap (I need to make Lessstressed's Elderberry and Ginger syrup to keep the bugs away). Very harrowing, even though we had a Dr's visit halfway, dd fine but needed chest checking. When this season is finished I think I'll have to watch them all over again.

I also agree about LJG Grin.

legolimb · 21/01/2019 12:07

I haven't watched this latest episode yet, but did watch last week's again last night for the benefit of DH. ha ha

I can not get over Lieutenant Wolff.. (Lee Boardman). I just see Robbie Williams 10 years down the line. Grin

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 21/01/2019 12:19

Just one more episode?
Is it too much to expect a Roger Rescue, a Brianna Baby and a Bonnet Bump-off before the credits roll?

MummaMinnie · 21/01/2019 12:48

Oh my - that last scene at the end of Ep. 12! I didn't see that coming. Sad And the music - I love Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings.

I kept hoping that Jamie and Claire were about to arrive and save the day. Hoping that they turn up and rescue Roger in next episode.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 21/01/2019 17:06

I skimmed over the book today and there's quite a bit to pack in if they are remaining truish to it. Duncan, for example has to ask Jamie for Jocasta's hand in marriage.... instead is Marsali going to hide Murtagh at River Run where he gets a new identity without a criminal past?
They swerved the whole Hodgepile nonsense I noticed as well.

phlebasconsidered · 21/01/2019 17:10

I think that's the first time i've actually like Roger. Back to the idiot hut.

Lessstressedhemum · 21/01/2019 18:26

No Jamie again😭 too much time with the idiot priest and not enough with jamie and Claire. It was very harrowing.

I feel like next week’s needs to be a 3 hour extravaganza!

Really missed Jamie this week —shallow— but did think it was excellent, loved Brianna and Lord John.

TheNavigator · 21/01/2019 20:02

Wow that was some ending. Craigvinean Forest & the River Tay looked fab - favourite haunts of mine. Next time I am there I will be picturing tragic burnings.

Roger was much more bearable this episode and Lord John Grey -swoon. I'd marry him in a heartbeat - he did say he was capable of fulfilling his conjugal duty - yes, please!

Macaroonmayhem · 21/01/2019 20:46

Ooh Navigator, I wondered if that was where it was! A fave spot of mine too.

sonjadog · 21/01/2019 21:08

I don´t really understand why Briana wanted to visit Bonnet so much. She didn't really say anything of particular note, did she?

Whisky2014 · 21/01/2019 21:15

No she didn't.

And Roger should have just made his escape and got on with it

Whisky2014 · 21/01/2019 21:16

But also, Brianna and Roger didnt seem to be head over heels in love. I dont root for them because I don't believe they care very much

Arkos · 21/01/2019 22:04

I loved Marsali this episode... the lassie who plays her is really knocking it out of the park. Can't stand her in the books.
Love LJG. Yum.
The guy who plays Fergus is playing him far too wide eyed and weak in my opinion. He comes across as an idiot when he should be streetwise and quite ruthless as per his brothel past. The young actor who played him in previous seasons had it down right... very spunky.

blibblibs · 21/01/2019 23:00

Just watched this weeks and definitely missed C&J especially since they were there in the books.
Watched with DH who mostly took the piss the whole way through so he's been told I'm watching it alone next week! Although I have a feeling they're going to have to miss loads out and if Jamie isn't there for the birth I'm not sure how they are going to get his and Bree relationship back on track.

gamerwidow · 22/01/2019 06:24

I don´t really understand why Briana wanted to visit Bonnet so much. She didn't really say anything of particular note, did she?
Because Jamie had told her in his note that forgiving BJR was the only thing that allowed him to heal and move forward so she was trying to do the same with Bonnet before he died.

DryWhiteagainW · 22/01/2019 07:30

I don’t remember Fergus ever having metbLord J before Confused

reallyneedmoresleep · 22/01/2019 07:33

I have to say, the idiot hut didn’t look very substantial, did it? Bit of a waste of time to scrape that hole when they could have just leaned against the side wall gently.
Loved Roger’s heroic return to the camp and I agree that so much of the acting this series has been excellent.
Also missed beautiful Jaime. Off to stare at my Outlander calendar for a while....

Florabella · 22/01/2019 08:28

Fergus and LJG were at the same ball in Jamaica, so have to assume they spoke there (off screen)

endofthelinefinally · 22/01/2019 08:47

LJG hasn't aged at all. It is a bit confusing.

legolimb · 22/01/2019 11:37

Roger- you should have just kept going.. aargh.

I think Stephen Bonnet will have survived . He will torment the Frasers forever now he has fathered Briannas child. It would be too easy to hope he died in the blast.

Agree that Marsali is becoming quite a woman now. She seems very strong and is a likeable character.

Looking forward to next week but also dreading it. Hate it when a season ends.

Is there to be a 5?

sonjadog · 22/01/2019 12:13

Maybe I am just getting old and cynical, but if I were Roger, I´d have cut my losses and gone back through the stones when he had the chance. Love is all very well, but there are plenty more women out there, and if I were him, I´d take up my nice Oxford lecturer job, start dating, and move on. Plenty more fish in the sea, etc.

quirkychick · 22/01/2019 12:17

When we first meet LJG he is sixteen, just before Culloden, so at Ardsmuir it is quite a few years later (doesn't Jamie spend 7 years in the cave and LJG isn't the first governor at Ardsmuir), so he is younger than C & J.

I thought we might at least have had some of the rescue party, where they're up to etc. There's a promo on YouTube with lots of shots of the Cherokee holding J and I at gunpoint Shock.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/01/2019 12:57

I agree Sonjadog.
I don't see that Bree and Roger have a deep irresistible passion for each other

Holidayshopping · 22/01/2019 13:02

I don’t get why she told Bonnet the child was his!?
