Ah thanks, I’ll have a goodie around. I find reddit really difficult to read, but sure why.

Nannyplumbrocks · 24/10/2018 20:43

Just finished it, I found it hard work but glad I stuck with it. I feel like I need to re watch the first one though. Bobby Dassey is a major suspect, and although I really dislike Scott Tadych I'm not sure he had anything to do with it. But my biggest question is were the bones actually Theresas? Did it say they couldn't actually confirm they were hers? If so then there is no proof she was actually killed at all!

qazxc · 24/10/2018 20:56

@dragonflyinn10 As far as I understand the Supreme court was Brendan's last hope, so he has now exhausted all his appeals.
Stephen Avery is at the beginning of appeal chain because he didn't have a lawyer until 2016.
I don't know what would happen to Brendan's case if Kathleen can prove her alternate theories or the killer confesses.

qazxc · 24/10/2018 21:00

I think that the bones were too degraded to establish that they were Theresa's. The blood in the back of the car was hers though so it's unlikely she's still alive.

SinkGirl · 24/10/2018 21:09

Not reading - place marking for when we are done!

dragonflyinn10 · 24/10/2018 21:31

@qazxc so the defense are at the end of the road with Brendan can they not appeal that and Kathleen needs to try and get her new evidence heard then, see I had to remind myself that although her evidence shines the spotlight on the other Dasseys/step father /exes her main objective is to free Steven Avery no matter what happens and no matter where that spot light falls or whose implicated x

I can't believe it took me this long to start watching this! I'm currently on episode 9 of season 1! Left to my own devices, I'd binge watch all night to see season 2, but my realistic side is telling me I need to sleep! Currently watching the part where they are questioning the 15year old cousin Kayla in court ....

qazxc · 24/10/2018 21:52

@dragonflyinn10 , no they can't reapply to the supreme court. The only thing that might get him back before the courts is new evidence.

InglouriousBasterd · 24/10/2018 23:27

Quack that’s a good point...I know he said he’d seen it ‘in a book’ but it’s the one thing that stuck with me!

qazxc · 25/10/2018 00:24

Bobby was at the time referring to himself as "the guy from SAW" in his social media bio. So it's pretty likely that Brendan would have seen the films too. In fairness I haven't seen all films of the franchise but from what I can remember they were pretty gruesome, Brendan could easily have "borrowed" from such films in his confession.

Interesting. May contain spoilers...

We're still searching , Grin

Battytwatty · 26/10/2018 13:09

I've just finished season 2. My god! Kathleen is brilliant. She's like a dog with a bone.
Did a bit of googling after , that cop Colborn has now retired. I was amazed when Kathleen found out about that witness who'd seen Teresa's car and reported it to him. He is one dodgy fucker!

Andylion · 26/10/2018 15:32

I finished the second series a couple of days ago, so I can't recall exactly the wording but Bobby said something that stuck with me. Something like all he cared about was clearing himself of any accusations. I thought he might have spared a thought for his brother, too.

bonfireheart · 26/10/2018 17:22

Wouldn't you think that with his "very low IQ" and lack of maturity that Brendan wouldn't be able to keep lying for 11 years? I just don't believe he is that clever or manipulative.

Owllwo · 26/10/2018 17:59

It didn’t surprise me to see a few of the main players from MAM1 no longer holding their positions.

Len is up on stalking charges and may face five years in jail.

Ken has had his license suspended and stepped down as state prosecutor after he was accused by several women of sexual harassment, including those he’d met via domestic violence cases.

todayiwin · 26/10/2018 19:22

@ClarasZoo hi, what is this on? I'm so baffled by this case

Twogirlsandme · 26/10/2018 20:42

Just finished season 2, gosh it's sad. His poor parents, I doubt they will survive until he is released.
I can't believe all the stuff Kathleen uncovered!

Cocolepew · 26/10/2018 22:52

Just finished it.
Kathleen is amazing.
Kratz has the most annoying voice ever.
Watching Stevens parents was heartbreaking . Barb looks like a broken woman.

Hardyloveit · 27/10/2018 08:43

Ahhh I love this series!! I'be got episode 10 to watch tonight!
I'm sure bobby did it and that's why he won't visit Brendan in prison. Their brother Bryan has been saying since 2005 that bobby told him he saw TH leave the yard! There's now an affidavit saying it. The police were so corrupt!
I just can't believe those judges went against Brendan though! It's sad that with all the evidence they are still in prison!
I've researched so much on the cases and there was a juror who said they voted guilty because their life had been threatened and when MAM started filming a judge ordered this juror to not speak and tell them this!
Kathleen is about to submit another big paper thing to the courts in December (I'm half way through reading the first one she did!) be good to know what is in the December one! Hopefully she can free SA and that will help BD get released

qazxc · 27/10/2018 10:27

I feel for Barb, whatever happens it's not going to end well for her.
If Kathleen get SA conviction overturned, can BD use that to get a new trial? They were to separate trials and the only "evidence" against Brendan is the confession.
I still cannot believe that people can think it is a true confession, when to me it looks like a textbook example of how to wrangle a false confession from a young person with special needs.
I suppose that the best outcome here is that the killer confesses (Kathleen did get a killer to confess in one of her previous exoneration cases), but I don't think it likely.

SinkGirl · 27/10/2018 22:59

Finally finished.

I get that people complain it’s one sided - and it is. Nevertheless, the state’s story of what happened makes no sense whatsoever.

The things that are most important for me, regardless of whatever is missing:

  1. From the very start of being arrested and interviewed, Avery didn’t change his story, even under quite intense interrogation. He said things that seemed crazy (like blood being taken from his sink) or unlikely (like him seeing the car leave the property and turn left) which only now is being corroborated by evidence

  2. The deliberate attempts to conceal the content of Bobby’s computer

  3. Avery’s reactions - he wants her to pursue every lead. He wants every test. His reaction when he was about to have that brain mapping test is not the reaction of someone who’s guilty and I don’t believe he’s intelligent enough to cover that up.

  4. Bobby and Scott lying on the stand, demonstrably so, and Scott not following up when someone he knew had evidence.

Kachinsky is an utter discharge, as is Kratz. I hope they both get what’s coming to them (looks like they are).

SinkGirl · 27/10/2018 23:00

Oh and the coroner! I am stunned that she was not allowed to testify. I also found her interview interesting as it implied to me that it wasn’t an isolated event and the threats continued.

winteryslippers · 27/10/2018 23:12

Is there anywhere online to follow and see updates?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 27/10/2018 23:41

Kathleen zellner is on Twitter an dposts about the case and seems to answer questions about it. Not sure if anywhere that has consistent updates though, I just google every now and again.
