New season 10 starts tonight! I’ve watched it since the first season, got DP into it 5 years ago and my whole family are completely gripped by it every year. Gearing up for our lives to be taken over for another 3 months!

No one I know outside the family watches it so thought I’d see if there’s anyone else out there with the bug Smile

I suspect our series is heavily edited. Tagging the occasional masterclass onto an elimination episode, the variation in programme length, odd ad breaks and the unevenness of time between cooking and judging.

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/11/2018 18:21

It's actually the exact same in Australia. We just don't get the "next time" or "last time" part so cuts the episode down a bit.

Also the one in Aus uses Katy Perry as their theme tune.

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/11/2018 18:22

Masterclasses used to be a separate episode and annoyed me as I don't like them. So I'm glad they are on the ends now as I can just turn it off.

Agreed, I hate masterclasses

Witchesbritches · 21/11/2018 23:51

I hate the Masterclasses too, still, easy enough to delete when they start.

Never been keen on SB.

The runner up should have won. Hands down.

The ‘winner’ is a one trick pony. Nice person, but not an all rounder.

Davros · 22/11/2018 08:30

Totally agree WB. Was he knobbled?

GrandTheftWalrus · 22/11/2018 12:21

I agree. The runner up showed the most promise and getting better every week whereas the winner was good from the start.

LIZS · 22/11/2018 12:42

The final was lost rather than won. Both seemed to have limited repertoire though.

The final was lost rather than won.

Completely agree with this. It was a shame that the full finals week wasn’t taken into account because the runner-up pretty much stormed it, whereas the eventual winner had had a very uneven time and went to pieces on more than one occasion. The runner-up had learnt so much more and made huge progress over the course of the competition. Looking at the starter and main that they served in the final, the winner could have produced theirs at the beginning of the competition.
