Any Masterchef Australia fans (in the UK) about?

New season 10 starts tonight! I’ve watched it since the first season, got DP into it 5 years ago and my whole family are completely gripped by it every year. Gearing up for our lives to be taken over for another 3 months!

No one I know outside the family watches it so thought I’d see if there’s anyone else out there with the bug

I have just started watching it after it being recommended by a friend. How many episodes a week will there be?

TinselAngel it used to be 6 days a week (every day but Saturday) but I think it’s only weekdays now

It is all consuming, and unfortunately clashing with GBM at the moment. They used to do a weekend omnibus too, that was a marathon! Sometimes the editing seems odd as they splice episodes together.

Noooo, Matt's not even a chef. He just likes food. I could do Matt's job and gladly would.

George is definitely the best but I do love Matt

Shannon is nice but really miss Matt Moran from earlier series.

Another Australian here! MC was great, we at the OneTeen house were all a bit sad when season 10 finished. It was great family viewing, only problem was that we were all craving desserts after watching some of the incredible things they made. I also really liked the contestants this year, they were all supportive with none of the drama and bitchiness of some other seasons.

Hope you all enjoy it you lucky UK folks, just remember to have some chocolate ready for the inevitable sweet cravings!

Ooh! Used to love George until I read about him under paying his restaurant staff. Shannon too, has allegedly been doing the same thing withholding tips etc.

Such a disappointment, they do a fab job on Masterchef mentoring the contestants and I used to really enjoy George doing his heart-to-heart counselling sessions with distressed contestants.

The American version is terrible yet I still watch and there's no point watching the team challenges as they show you who's won by showing the contestants in the elimination round in the bloody trailers!

Part of the appeal is that Gary was British born. Highlights are when hot food makes George sweat and he brings along his mum! (And her legendary moussaka) Was originally drawn to the format when teammates got to vote off the weakest member by putting in the knife! Sadly that was a feature dropped in subsequent series.

Missed the first episode but i’ll be watching religiously from today. It’s my favourite program and so much more exciting than the British version

LIZS my DM watched GBM as well, I’ve (possibly thankfully) never got into that one as much.

George and Gary are the faves in this house, the face’s Gary pulls particularly.

@crocsaretoocoolforschool - I actually emailed Masterchef USA and pointed out that they were showing spoilers for the show, and got nothing back. Maybe they don't care, or maybe they think their audience are so stupid they won't notice.

Why did the judges divide each portion into three and put them on individual plates to judge the elimination? Was it so they didn't fight over it?

They always do that when they are sitting there.
