Who changed the bullets? That’s what’s most intriguing me. They obviously wanted to stop him using the gun to hurt himself/Julia/others but not enough to somehow grass him up...

captainpantbeard · 13/09/2018 06:41

FWIW I don’t think there’s anything more to the Nadia story than what we’re seeing.

PollyFlinderz · 13/09/2018 07:33

Frankly it could be any bloody one and it's really annoying me now to be honest!

I feel the latest episode turned the series on its head to being more about padding and less about substance.

It’s boring now.

LittleBookofCalm · 13/09/2018 07:42

i have enjoyed this but i didnt like that female police officer, the looks she gives david, really put me off. i dont spose they can all be good actors but she was Rubbish

wowfudge · 13/09/2018 08:28

I don't know how anyone can say it's boring. Anything but. It's not a film where it would be over by now, there's more time to develop the plot and the characters and to keep you guessing. Each to their own.

unique1986 · 13/09/2018 08:42

LittleBookofCalm
Which female police officer?

LittleBookofCalm · 13/09/2018 08:42

the female police officer with Budd when he interviewed Nadia

unique1986 · 13/09/2018 09:10

Ah ok thought you meant another one.
Someone said about the look think its Louise gave Vicky when she dropped David off to safe house.
Could be nothing but maybe they know each other?
Or she was just looking being nosy.

MissEliza · 13/09/2018 09:54

Dh thinks it's 'slow as shit'. This is the guy addicted to The Blacklist. If you're not familiar it's an American show with ridiculous plots moving at glacial speed. One of the main characters also faked her own death so he thinks KH has done that.
I think David is what makes this show for me. He's a good guy and a proper hero who is tormented. I was hooked after the scene with the suicide bomber. Why were they so keen to shoot her?

wowfudge · 13/09/2018 10:08

Because they didn't want her to detonate the bomb would be my guess.

FloralBunting · 13/09/2018 10:39

I'm loving the ambiguity in the way David is being played. His motivation is completely unclear. When he's upset is it because he had genuine positive emotional feelings for the Home Secretary, or because he's failed to do his duty, or because a plan has gone wrong', or something else?
Is he part of some kind of plot, did he hate her but find himself falling for her, is he being set up for something?

It's just delicious, I'm loving it.

DarlingNikita · 13/09/2018 11:30

wow, didn't Fred West have learning difficulties and that's why he was classed as vulnerable? I don't think Nadia is meant to have them.

Defrack · 13/09/2018 11:32

I like the mirror articles explanation that it's chanel, she was picked up by the guy from the veterans group. He also picked her up from the meeting with the journalist.

And she's listed as being in the whole show so must appear somewhere

Loopytiles · 13/09/2018 11:35

Nadia could be deemed vulnerable because she suffered long term abuse in her relationship.

VanGoghsDog · 13/09/2018 11:44

Dh thinks it's 'slow as shit'.

Your DH needs to eat more prunes, my shit isn't slow....

MissEliza · 13/09/2018 13:38

Your dh needs to eat more prunes. GrinGrinGrin. I might use that line next Sunday!

BlueKarou · 13/09/2018 14:12

Is there any proof the train attack was linked to the attempted school bombing? There almost seem to be too many 'baddies'; there was the train attack, the school attack, the sniper, and the auditorium bomb. Are we assuming all 3 bombs came from the same place and the same people? Surely the forensics team will be able to confirm this, but I don't think I've seen it mentioned on the show.

Also on that one, I was really expecting Nadia to turn out to be the bomb maker in a twist on that theme. That theory has diminished since the interview (a surprising talent for an ex-forces, now personal protection officer - to be able to smoothly handle an interview)

Gersemi · 13/09/2018 14:12

I feel the latest episode turned the series on its head to being more about padding and less about substance.

It’s boring now.

After two extremely action-packed episodes it would have been in danger of becoming ridiculous if they'd continued on the same path. They needed an episode where people actually had a chance to investigate and react. It's clearly going to build up the tension more slowly to a final episode full of shoot-outs and explosions, metaphorical and/or literal.

Interviewee1001 · 13/09/2018 15:09

Surely the “who ordered the bomb” is obvious though? We were shown head of SS bloke being pissed off that KH had gone to the PM before being told and his (SS) underling offering to solve the problem.

My bet is the person who actually planted the bomb will be identified in the story but no punishment will occur because Anne will block it, wanting to have permanent leverage over SS.

The briefcase is a red herring - it contained amendments planted by acting Home Sec and Rob (?) designed to make KH look bad during big speech. But if that comes out, they’re finished which is why they’re bricking it now.

wowfudge · 13/09/2018 15:14

When Nadia was interviewed by SlashDave they were trying to find out who the bombmaker is - the bloke who gave them the suicide vest in the car park so I'm assuming they have found the devices are similar enough to think there's one bombmaker or bomb factory involved.

PollyFlinderz · 13/09/2018 16:29

fter two extremely action-packed episodes

you can have substance without an episode being action packed.

PollyFlinderz · 13/09/2018 16:32

I don't know how anyone can say it's boring. Anything but. It's not a film where it would be over by now, there's more time to develop the plot and the characters and to keep you guessing. Each to their own.

Yes. Each to their own. And I can't say I watch films so its not as if I like things wrapped up in 105 minutes.

The last episode didn't really contain much if anything at all.

Piggywaspushed · 13/09/2018 17:00

I quite like slow for a change : programmes these days can be rather frenetic . Jed Mercurio is famous for his interview set pieces so I suspect we are due more of those. Now, Press was boring. Switched off afer 15 minutes. Bartlett needs lessons from Mercurio.

I do still think Line of Duty is superior fare, though.

Defrack · 13/09/2018 17:45

The writer also stated there might be a season 2 depending on the availability of slashdave.

So this could mean we may find out who the attacker is but not what happenes next.

Yellowsunredroses · 13/09/2018 18:29

The people who say it is boring just don’t have brain power to follow the plot!
