Sorry I’ve just binged watched all of this in the past 24 hours!
Who was the document that Julia had stashed away that was about a sexual attack referring to? Think the name was Foxfield, do we know this person and what the relevance is?
I’m a bit lost to be honest, seems to point to security setting this up doesn’t it?

Gre8scott · 12/09/2018 04:31

I think julia set off the bomb. I think she's not dead and if trying to frame someone for it.

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 05:40

I think we should remember David’s kids have been the subject of two attempts too - on the train and their school. I think you can assume David wouldn’t kill his own kids.

Possibly there are two ‘bombers’ David and the army people trying to kill Julia for the war and the security services trying to kill David/warn him off doing it and also getting the right climate for their new law by targeting him and his kids.

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 05:41

Hence I def think we’ll see another attempt on his kids as a finale

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 05:43

For one - there has to be attempt on someone to make it interesting at the end. David needs to be the one saving or causing it. The prime minister we don’t reallly like so wouldn’t be gripping enough. Julia dead so only pretty Vicky and the kids left.

HandOff · 12/09/2018 07:02

Maria's accent is really confusing. It switches from Scottish to a South Asian accent and makes no sense.

Believeitornot · 12/09/2018 07:28

I reckon that the suicide bomber cell is genuine but that Julia didn’t want it thwarted in the way David did it - she wanted it to happen so she could push through RIPA.

I reckon that the veterans group is also a terror cell but has links inside government, hence the leaks etc about David’s kids’ School and Julia’s itineraries etc etc to make her a target. They might possibly be part of the same cell as the suicide bombers - after all the veteran talked in a way which was sympathetic to Islamic terrorists.

I also think that David used to be part of the setting up of the group back in Helmand but has come back home and with his kids being more important, he’s just not interested in the same way. The group know that and are pissed off for a number of reasons.

wowfudge · 12/09/2018 09:58

Who is Maria?

ElenaGreco123 · 12/09/2018 14:32

The unlikely-named suicide bomber.

Believeitornot · 12/09/2018 14:52

Nadia? Not Maria?

DarlingNikita · 12/09/2018 15:17

Nadia, yes. Which reminds me – I'm still not sure why she had an appropriate adult. She's surely not meant to be under 16, and her English seems good. I know she's potentially threatened by her husband, but she's in police custody so surely isn't 'vulnerable' in that sense?

wowfudge · 12/09/2018 15:19

Fred West had an appropriate adult present when he was interviewed by the police.

HandOff · 12/09/2018 17:51

Sorry I meant Nadia (autocorrect!). Also I'm not sure how believable her story is. Could it be possible that she new David before the train incident?

Believeitornot · 12/09/2018 18:10

I don’t think she knew David? He told her he had children and she didn’t know that?

LemonRedwood · 12/09/2018 19:15

The Mirror thinks the killer has been revealed...

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 20:02

Watching back episode 2 - the threat to the school is after the October attack but before the Home Secretary intervenes in the sons schooling. So def a police leak or his ex military friends.
Who put David on the Home sec job and for what purpose? Was someone trying to get him off the job of protecting her by bombing his kids school??

Piggywaspushed · 12/09/2018 20:41

That is definitely not Chanel in the background of that freeze frame , and it's not Tahir beside her.

Chanel really does not seem the type to turn up at a bombing and risk death herself, must say.

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 21:17

Chanel used by her boyfriend to get info behind her back
Chanel was probably one who arranged Charlie’s school move so this is where this leak came from - but she probably wasn’t aware of what she was doing

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 21:18

Also she was probably fired because Julia had suspicions about her - knowing that’s where the link came from maybe?

Yellowsunredroses · 12/09/2018 22:35

I think Julia knew she was going to die too - she looked so nervous which isn’t like her at all and she fessed up to dave about the school

Gersemi · 13/09/2018 00:57

I think julia set off the bomb. I think she's not dead and if trying to frame someone for it.

It seems pretty clear from the Mercurio interview linked upthread the she is definitely dead.

FloralBunting · 13/09/2018 01:36

I've just caught up with this. My gut is telling me that Nadia and David already knew each other - there was such a connection between them in that interview that it was almost like he was trying to communicate something to her that she was trying to read.

Everyone seems to be concealing something, so I'm really not at all sure who is playing whom. I'm veering towards there being some twist and double twist ending, where David is looking like he's being set up for the fall, and then it being revealed that he's been part of the conspiracy all along.

But mostly I'm really enjoying something challenging me, because I've usually got this kind of thing sewn up in the second episode.

PollyFlinderz · 13/09/2018 03:48

and David already knew each other - there was such a connection between them in that interview that it was almost like he was trying to communicate something to her that she was trying to read.

I felt she was trying to communicate to him who it was. And there would be a connection considering what they’d been through together on the train.

SippingSipsmith · 13/09/2018 06:33

I thought the female police officer was looking really weird in that interview. Also there was a strange exchange of looms between same officer and Vicky when she dropped Vicki at David's house?

Frankly it could be any bloody one and it's really annoying me now to be honest! Usually with these things it turns out to be someone COMPLETELY RANDOM. Roll on Sunday.

SippingSipsmith · 13/09/2018 06:33

Exchange of looks not looms! No looms were exchanged Grin
