Programmes that never get repeated

Every Easter I hope (in vain) that The Passion will be repeated on tv. It was in the late 1990's with Gina McKee and Paul Nichols and set in Devon, never even been released on dvdConfused. Does anyone else remember it? What other programmes have only been on once and you'd like to see again?

OP posts:
NerdyBird · 30/03/2018 11:01

The Passion was filmed near my home town, v exciting for sleepy Devon!
The Brittas Empire is sometimes on one of the channels that shows repeats, it's still good.
I have a dvd of This Life if anyone wants it!

LockedOutOfMN · 30/03/2018 11:07

Drop The Dead Donkey was great!

Cocolepew · 30/03/2018 11:10

Southland, it was on More 4 I think. I loved it.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 30/03/2018 11:15

I'm not sure we should revisit stuff we loved on tv years ago. I used to watch 'may to december' - the daughter was always portrayed as being a stick in the mud and totally unreasonable for not liking zoe. But in retrospect, wouldn't most of us be a bit Hmm if our dads married someone who was younger than us.

I caught an old episode of Bread the other day. Used to love Joey it back in the day. But all I could see was Freddie Boswell not getting the criticism he deserved for being a cheating arse. All the characters annoyed me (apart from Julie) for being so bloody wet!

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 30/03/2018 11:17

Having said all that, I wish they'd made more Ultraviolet. It was the best vampire show ever - pisses all over twilight type films. The closest thing to it in quality was Being Human

ChampagneSocialist1 · 30/03/2018 11:22

The ones I’d like to see again are:
Clocking On
Shine on Harvey Moon
1980s BBC dramatisation of “To the Lighthouse”

OutsideContextProblem · 30/03/2018 11:26

I’ve rewatched Ultraviolet a few times - the only thing that’s aged at all is the mobile phones.

CluedoAddict · 30/03/2018 11:32

A lot of these have been repeated recently. Brittas Empire was on a few weeks ago on one of the sky channels. Ballykissangel has been repeated a few times.

NewNameADayKeepsSpiesAway · 30/03/2018 11:40

Yes to drop the dead donkey, dear George & brittas empire, all absolutely brilliant for proper out loud belly laughs. Have seen the odd repeat over the years.

The one series’s I dearly wish would be repeated is House of Eliot which was the 1929s fashion house serious and I loved it. One of the women in it is now Mrs Rabbit in Peppa Pig so I think of it often when I hear her voice. It’s on DVD but bloody expensive.

Also Bernard & the genie which was a Christmas film and so funny but never gets repeated in spite of having brilliant & still popular actors in it with so many cameos.

If anyone works in TV listings, please get on the case Grin

SadieHH · 30/03/2018 11:40

Shine on Harvey Moon is my all time favourite show and no one ever remembers it. It has been repeated on UK Drama or whatever it’s called but the first series is missing lots of episodes and they’ve never been repeated. They were also missing on the DVD release. Sad

BellMcEnd · 30/03/2018 11:44

Adrian Mole! I would dearly love to watch that again.

Wish Me Luck which was a great wartime drama about the French resistance. Loved that.

DadOnIce · 30/03/2018 11:44

Blake's 7 is out on DVD and a lot of it's on Youtube. Paul Darrow, who played Avon, has been quite seriously ill and I think is now in a wheelchair with part of one leg amputated. Gareth Thomas (Blake) and David Jackson (Gan) have both died.

Iamtheresurrection · 30/03/2018 11:46

Pulling. Bbc3 showed an episode as part of its final programming but that's it.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 30/03/2018 11:51

Pulling was hilarious. Surprised it’s not repeated since the success of Catastrophe.
Shine on Harvey Moon was a big part of my childhood!
More recent ones I’d like to see again are
Sensitive Skin
Marion and Geoff
Jam and Jerusalem and
Roger and Val have just got in

SeaLionsOnMyShirt · 30/03/2018 11:56

Bell McEnd I just came on here to say Wish Me Luck! I have the first 2 series on DVD but would love to see the third again.

I'd also love to see the first few years worth of Neighbours being repeated as well (am obviously in a nostalgia fest for the late 80s today..)

BexleyRae · 30/03/2018 12:02

It has been bothering me for ages that I couldn't remember the name of Game On.
DP didn't know what I was on about

Creambun2 · 30/03/2018 12:14

BBC show called "the rock and roll" years - music of the year/decade show to news clips of the time. Can't be sold on dvd due to music copyright stuff. Not really repeated other than odd episode.

Mrspotter12 · 30/03/2018 13:10

Not with a bang
A short problem

Flightywoman · 30/03/2018 13:42

Oh CreamBun, my husband dearly loved The a Rock and Roll Years, I think he has a number of them on video tape! There were O many clips that clearing the copyright would be a mammoth task...

Just heard of the death of Bill Maynard and one thing that never gets shown is Oh No, It's Selwyn Froggit. But that's probably a good thing.

LockedOutOfMN · 30/03/2018 13:44

YY to the poster who suggested 'Roger and Val have just got in'. That show was fantastic. So poignant. I'd watch Fred Molina doing the washing up, tbf, he's that good.

Also Adrian Mole - I missed it first time around.

Waspsarewankers · 30/03/2018 14:20

RedCap with Tamsin Outhwaite

prampushingdownthehighst · 30/03/2018 14:30

Gosh just had a rush of nostalgia seeing the rock and roll years - we all loved sitting down and watching that.Smile
I would love to see The Secret Life of Us again, used to watch it when I worked nights.

onemouseplace · 30/03/2018 14:32

Newname I loved The House of Eliot!

I'd love to see Derek Jacobi as Cadfael again, and Peter Davison as Campion - they probably do pop up somewhere, but I never have the patience to scan the tv papers each week. Instead there are just endless repeats of Miss Marple (which I also LOVE, but I'd like a bit of variety.)

onemouseplace · 30/03/2018 14:33

And I was also a big fan of Game On - but only the ones with Ben Chaplin in.

Twogoround · 30/03/2018 14:50

UK tv play app has campion on .always looking at if they drama are doing a run on something .
Watching
And shine on Harvey moon were brillant.
They was a show called flickers about old movie making on itv never soon again.
