Did they get sorted by pottermore? Dd1 is hufflepuff too. Both of mine took the pottermore test and treat it as absolute truth lol

No I don't fancy SH in rl either, I can see he's a good looking man, but Jamie is the whole personality etc. and also as seen through Claire's eyes. There are other fictional tv and film characters, who have attractive personalities and other traits, but I don't find the actors themselves attractive. I do like the 17th century men's clothes, tricorn hats, breeches, etc. very (new) romantic Grin.

I have grey arm warmers from hush that I've had for a few years perfect for chilly autumn days but not warm enough for full on British winter. I would recommend arm warmers, I wear mine loads. All the costumes are so breathtaking, I really love Claire's outfit with the white fur edging in Rent from Season 1.

Me too. The clothes maketh the men in most of these cases. There’s just something about a man in a tricorn hat and breeches (Ross Poldark I’m looking at you, you brooding arse of a bloke, you 😋).

iamdivergent · 25/10/2017 16:48

Yes they did AKA DH and I are in Gryffindor

LonelyOversharer · 25/10/2017 16:51

Oh, I actually typed that I didn't fancy SH, then deleted it! I think I felt disloyal. I fancy Jamie, but if I see a pic of Sam as Sam I go, meh! But I think it's the story, the romance, thier relationship that I fancy more. Actually as I'm a grown up, I don't fancy anyone! I think I know what I mean.

I did watch a very funny clip on you tube of the blokes who play Dougal and Murtagh, but I got bored very quickly of the q and a panels. DG always looks a bit smug and sinister.

quirkychick · 25/10/2017 17:28

Lonely I know what you mean, it's the whole thing. It's definitely the whole story, romance, relationship.

Courtney Grin at Ross Poldark.

iamdivergent · 25/10/2017 17:29

Yes lonely I know what you mean. I feel too old to say I fancy someone so I get it.

MoNigheanDonn · 25/10/2017 17:33

OMG I just went and changed to an outlander name...fifteen different goes and look what it let me have Grin

(Its iamdivergent btw) Grin

gamerwidow · 25/10/2017 18:15

I like SH he comes across really well in interviews but I don’t fancy him at all unless he is playing Jamie.
It’s a mark of how good an actor he is that even when in full costume you can tell in pictures from the set when he is being Jamie and when he is being Sam.
I don’t care if he is gay or not but if he is I do think it’s a terrible shame to have to be closeted just to appease some people who can’t separate reality from fantasy.

ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 18:39

For me its only ever Jamie, much as its only Ross Poldark. Never Sam or Aidan.
But I find Jamie in the books quite attractive and that was before I saw him on tv.

AKAmyself · 25/10/2017 18:41

So let’s get this straight. Too old to fancy an actor, but definitely young enough to fall madly in fictional love with a fictional character.

ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 18:46

AKA I think you have hit the nail on the head there.

MoNigheanDonn · 25/10/2017 19:11

I've never watched Poldark - is it worth a watch? Am I just going to become obsessed, I'm running out of space in my head for all my book/tv boyfriends Blush

DryWhiteagainW · 25/10/2017 19:13

Basically fancy any man with muscles in period costume.....apart from medieval tights, nooooooo Grin never too old

MoNigheanDonn · 25/10/2017 19:14

Haha Dry

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/10/2017 19:20

I dunno about that. Aneurin Barnard as Richard III was quite tasty (even though I’m probably old enough to be his mother older sister).

And let’s not forget that Game Of Thrones is based on the War of the Roses. Jaime Lannister, Bronn and my imaginary husband Jon Snow all wear medieval-ish costume of sorts.

MoNigheanDonn · 25/10/2017 19:29

Oooh Jon Snow...

ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 19:35

Jon Snow is a bit too brooding for me. But Bronn, he is brilliant. A man who can make me laugh.
However Richard Armitage as 'Guy of Gisbon' wasn't bad.

AlbusPercival · 25/10/2017 19:40

Toni - Richard armitage as guy of gisbourne was perfection.

Lessstressedhemum · 25/10/2017 20:19

Fergus is supposed to be 30 now. He is young compared to Claire, though.

Re. the social media stuff, I don't know if its true or not but it is what the naysayers come out with. I think Sam is lovely in "real" life as well. Very different from Jamie, but lovely nonetheless.

Lessstressedhemum · 25/10/2017 20:24

Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisbourne was almost as hot as Jamie. And then there were the Musketeers. I struggled to pick one of them, but Athos won by a whisker.

LonelyOversharer · 25/10/2017 21:51

Oh I had forgotten about that BBC Robin Hood one. Yes, Richard Armitage has always been a bit brilliant. He had me in North & South!

I've thought of just one I'd fancy regardless, in films or irl (as if!) Hugh Jackman. Right up my street. I could watch Australia until the cows come home pun intended

PenguinDi · 25/10/2017 22:39

This guy has a good vlog for the Outlander series, and he’s Scottish

quirkychick · 26/10/2017 08:31

Oh, you are definitely my people Grin.

Dunlurking · 26/10/2017 09:13

Another one here who swoons for the character Jamie but not the actor but I wouldn't object if SH fell madly in love with my good looking gay son - gay couples always take their mums, don't they?
