New thread for all things Jamie and Claire. But mostly Jamie
ToniMumsnet · 22/10/2017 17:14
I can't wait for tomorrow. Work is going to be impossible.
ToniMumsnet · 23/10/2017 15:07
How many episodes are in this season, because we are barely a 3rd of the way through the book. I have to say I am so glad they skipped the whole Claire has no clothes bit. It really was quite tacky. I took the lack of emotion from Jamie in the photos seen down to the shock of it all. At that point, its only been an hour at most since he saw her again. Also, the photos themselves would have been confusing and strange, along with how they look in them. I will be interested to see if he treasures them in the same way as he does in the book? Loved the breakfast seem. Absolutely perfect. Fergus was lovely and I thought Ian wasn't bad either. I prefer this depiction of Mr Willoghby. I hope they don't bring in all the stupid feet stuff.
I'm going to have to rewatch this again.

@LonelyOversharer
I think its Mr Willoughby that shots him. But in the book they were on the stairs. Not sure why he would come across them in the room.
Jamie doesn't find out what Laoghaire did until near the end of book 5 when they ask Ned to find out if she is settled with another man. It really doesn't make any sense that he would consider marrying her knowing what she had done.
ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 18:39
For me its only ever Jamie, much as its only Ross Poldark. Never Sam or Aidan. But I find Jamie in the books quite attractive and that was before I saw him on tv.
ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 18:46
AKA I think you have hit the nail on the head there.
ToniMumsnet · 25/10/2017 19:35
Jon Snow is a bit too brooding for me. But Bronn, he is brilliant. A man who can make me laugh. However Richard Armitage as 'Guy of Gisbon' wasn't bad.

@Whatthefoxgoingon
I need a t-shirt with that on it. In the middle of a ring of standing stones.
ToniMumsnet · 26/10/2017 20:55
I mean standing stones on the t-shirt, rather than some OTT moment, where I'm spinning around wearing an Outlander t-shirt in the middle of StoneHenge.
ToniMumsnet · 27/10/2017 17:27
One thing I noticed in the book was that She also thought Jacks brother was a closer match to Frank Randall.
ToniMumsnet · 27/10/2017 17:59
The Alex/Mary/Jack did happen in the book. But Jamie was a witness to the wedding. Because Mary doesn't know whats between Jamie and BJR.
ToniMumsnet · 27/10/2017 18:38
I have always thought that too. How could you go back to living with a man who looks exactly like a man who tried to rape you twice and tortured your husband? It's really very weird.
TwilightToniMumsnet · 28/10/2017 19:44
Nothing on CB. Well, there was that pinnacle of her acting career, the film 'Escape Plan' I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to erase that from her past.
TwilightToniMumsnet · 29/10/2017 12:40
With half term, I haven't managed to fit in a re-watch. It was hard enough just watching it the once. Every time I try again I get interrupted. Random visits from PIL, DS friend over to play Xbox. So I might just skip the 2nd watch and go straight for the main event tomorrow. I can't wait.
TwilightToniMumsnet · 30/10/2017 17:44
Mr Willoughby seems a much more likeable character in the series. He's a really silly in the books with the foot obsession and being fairly unhelpful. I'm glad they missed the whole smuggling bit.
ToniMumsnet · 03/11/2017 12:03
Wow, that's incredible makeup. A bit disturbing for the actress though. Surely Laoghaire is only 36ish. Seems quite extreme.
ToniMumsnet · 05/11/2017 14:25
I love Mumlanders too. Should definitely be in the next thread title. The preview for next weeks episode looks great. I have been really looking forward to the ship. Will I be able to figure out which Black Sails ship they have used?
ToniMumsnet · 06/11/2017 18:51
There is really something quite wonderful about a man in a kilt. I love it when my dh wears his. This season without them has been such a shame. Thanks for the preview clip. I noticed the crocodile head was still in it. I was hoping they would skip that bit.
ToniMumsnet · 06/11/2017 20:18
@GreatWhites
That line is one of the best in the whole 3 series.
ToniMumsnet · 06/11/2017 20:59
Maybe that should be the title of our next thread.
ToniMumsnet · 06/11/2017 21:53
I might be remembering this wrong, but its all related to Geillis and using the stones to get back home. She knows about them because Dougal told her I think. So is it just a coincidence they were all there at the same time? There is another weird thing about her needing young men too but that just went right over my head.
ToniMumsnet · 06/11/2017 22:41
He turns up as they are about to sail a ship they have borrowed from Jarrod in pursuit of Ian. He has Masalli with him and tells them he plans to marry her.
ToniMumsnet · 09/11/2017 20:06
I think that photo is from the Governers Ball where Claire first meets LJG. Jamie goes as a French dandy as some kind of fairly dodgy disguise. In which case this photo works for me. As he does look a bit of a French dandy there.
ToniMumsnet · 10/11/2017 18:58
I'm assuming that Muturgh will take on the roll of Duncan Innes in series 4. It could make more sense having Muturgh marry Jocasta as he was in love with her sister.
ToniMumsnet · 11/11/2017 09:50
I find the character of Ulysses a bit hard to accept anyway. Perhaps they could tone him down a bit so that Murtagh is a combination of both Innes and Ulysses. At least that's what I hope they will do.
ToniMumsnet · 11/11/2017 11:10
Perhaps Mrs Bug would be a better match for Murtagh.
