Cat does indeed look like his mother there. I still think the actress who played Geneva should’ve played Claire. Don’t shoot me 😂

She doesn’t normally look that old, but the hairstyle, the pose and the photo in general, hasn’t done her any favours at all 😳

It looks more like an advert for Dangerous Liasons : the Twilight Years. CB is playing a 60 year old Mertueil and Sam is her and Valmonts son and they are out to get revenge on the French court that shunned her!

I know we're all supposed to fancy SH like mad, but his weedy (ok long) legs and weird pose don't do it for me! Ffs he needs some messy dirty tartan, not a pansies blouse and some black wet look leggings.

Saying that, I adore all the costumes. Its the reason I like season 2 so much I think! Even the buttoned up bat suit is beautifully constructed.

Ah that cover is rubbish. You would think it was a Versailles type show. Poor CB looks like she has a cold and has been dosed up with Lemsips and Vicks, especially in the close ups.

Amen to that! The weird thing is, when he’s wearing his highlander stuff, he looks much bulkier (and better imo).

I think that photo is from the Governers Ball where Claire first meets LJG. Jamie goes as a French dandy as some kind of fairly dodgy disguise. In which case this photo works for me. As he does look a bit of a French dandy there.

Apparently, they aged Laoghaire by giving her Mrs Fitz's (Laoghaire's grandmother's) wig. That's quite funny.

Can’t say I ever felt any fondness for Fergus or Marsali in the book, but I’m actually looking forward to seeing how their relationship pans out in the show.

I think they were both a great bit of casting. I’m already loving Marsali from the tiny bit I’ve seen of her.

I'm still watching but THAT SHIRT is almost enough to make me stop. I hope that it looks better in action than simmering about on a garden bench with Claire.

I actually felt sorry for Laoighaire this week which I didn't in the books. The adaptation is much more... mature I think in the treatment of the characters than DG was.

gin I felt a bit sorry for her too, twice widowed, some dv implied with previous husbands, Jamie doesn't love her/unhappy marriage... I keep going back to Murtagh in Season 1 who says Jamie shouldn't be with Laoghaire as she'll still be a girl when she's 40 and Jamie needs a woman. I prefer the poorly matched idea than Laoghaire is just awful, I agree much more mature.

Fergus and Marsali get good character growth (alongside the usual shit-ton of tragedy) in the books, but I always felt that dg really doesn’t make enough of them as characters and their relationship with the frasers. At some point when Fergus behaves in a particularly shitty way (or, perhaps more realistically, the strain of his abusive childhood and disability finally catches up with him) Jamie finally has a good father-son chat with him but if I remember correctly it all gets resolved fairly quickly and superficially.
Marsali develops into a total kickass pioneer woman, much more interesting than boring Brianna

Marsali is much, much better than Brianna. I think Fergus is a bit of a missed opportunity for DG, but maybe she will grow him more in the next book. Although I won't hold my breath because the have sent Germaine back to Fraser's Ridge to try to escape the war while they stay in the city.

Fergus behaves really badly towards Marsali a lot of the time and seems to spend an inordinate amount of time wallowing in self pity and leaving her to get on with it. It kind of put me off him for a long while, but he has grown on me again since he took up the printing and sedition.

I must stop looking at Fergus in an adult sort of way, he is, quite literally, roughly half my age.

Oh dear, Sam really does look like a French fop in that photo and Claire looks like his mother! I am looking forward to that bit and seeing how Claire and John react to each other. I wonder how Jamie will survive on the high seas? Sadly, they appear to be doing the jumping overboard toed to a cask thing, baa.
