GBBO - opinions?

What are people's opinions on the new Bake Off so far? And yes, I know we're only a few minutes in. IMO the new presenters feel a bit like they're trying a little too hard to be Mel and Sue.

Opinions?

I feel like the judging is a little rushed 🙁

I'm reserving judgement but then i hate the early weeks when i can't seperate the bakers! Early impression is that they are trying too hard to not be different and it just doesn't work as it is different. Would be much better if they mixed it up

I actually really like Pru!
Sandi's got one of those faces that makes me want to throw the remote at the tv so I can't watch when her face is on the screen.

Judging is always quick in the first few weeks though as there are so many contestants.

I'm not sure about the judging being done at the work benches.

But it's exactly the same as old bake off otherwise isn't it. Wish they'd binned off Paul. Too smug and self satisfied looking. But the other 3 are very good impersonators of Mel, sue & Mary.

Liking it so far, nice touch a lot of the adverts being baking related.

Noel just seems out of place it's like he's been sent on a job by an agency and really needs the work so he's trying his best

Maybe I'm just not remembering properly.. I guess in the first few weeks they have to squeeze in a lot of cakes to judge. Was it always a bit swift in the first few episodes?

Is it really five? I've never noticed that. And I've watched every series. Wow, just goes to show how unibservant I am

I don't mind Paul, Sandi's bubbly personality is actually making me warm to her a bit, Noel does look out of place doesn't he

Sandi can present and seems quite a good choice (given the above)
Noel - waste of space so far....
Pru - lacks personality but nothing really objectionable

In the voiceover, Sandi's voice kind of reminds me of Sue! Anyone else?

I'm really liking it. It feels familiar yet a bit fresh.
Loved it when Noel ate the marigold and a bit of weird slipped out.

I like it.

I like Noel's slight vulnerability and acknowledgment of the 'new kids' doing a 'new job'.

Hating the ads but otherwise finding it ok. DH is sulking and pretending not to watch because he misses Mary Berry.

It is the same but different. I'm happy.

Now if we can just get ch4 to adopt the Sewing Bee and Allotment Challenge as well...

I went right if Sandi Toksvig when I heard her on Desert Island Discs, takes herself far too seriously. Bit really enjoying it so far, it's missing the warmth
