Can't wait!!

Middleoftheroad · 14/08/2017 07:32

Here's tge HBO ep 5 insight

Summerisdone · 14/08/2017 07:34

I can't stop thinking of Eastwatch by the sea as a holiday resort name. Who wouldn't want to holiday with zombies in freezing conditions with just ice for entertainment? I could cope in a cave with Jon Snow though....

Tbh this does sound more fun than a week away in 30 degree heat with a hot and flustered toddler Grin

RhinoGirl · 14/08/2017 07:37

Am I the only one who does believe Cersei really is pregnant?

PaintTheWholeWorld · 14/08/2017 07:38

Tarly BBQ Grin

AryaUnderfoot · 14/08/2017 07:57

RhinoGirl I believe Cersei is pregnant.

So, Sam now has evidence that Jon is the legitimate son of Rhaegar. Theoretically, his 'claim' to the throne is better than Dany's.

Dany just flame-grilled Sam's little brother.

This can't be coincidence.

christmasunicorn · 14/08/2017 07:59

I thought Jaime asking who the father was just shows how little faith he has in here.

Surely even Arya would understand that even if Sansa had meant that scroll at the time, surely after everything f that has happened: being married off to Tyrion, running for her life after "her husband murdering Joffrey", being married off to Ramsey and the horrific things she went through there.... her loyalties may just have changed.
I love Davos. "Don't listen to me. I'm just a silly man who's lived to old age" Grin

AryaUnderfoot · 14/08/2017 08:02

I think Arya came across as a real brat this episode. 'You always liked nice things'. Yuck.

Oh well, I suppose they have to string out the faux-conflict between the two sisters in order to create some kind of story for Littlefinger. He's definitely on borrowed time.

christmasunicorn · 14/08/2017 08:08

Funny Randall saying Dany couldn't give him the option to take the black as she's not his queen - pretty sure he didn't ask the monarch of the time whether it was ok to send his eldest son. Surely roasting them must have significance. I'm more and more certain each episode that Dany will sit on the throne.
I think Cersie is pregnant but I believe the prophecy that she will not have this child. A lot can happen in 9months including her death. Jorah will travel to kings landing from winterfell and hopefully Arya will see her chance to finish her list and hitch a ride. At the speed they seem to travel, she'll get there before Cersie starts showing

Summerisdone · 14/08/2017 08:12

I'm am so happy that someone (Arya) is seeing Sansa like I have been for weeks.
Ary sees right through people for what they truly are.

Sansa has always liked nice things, and to feel important and powerful. Yes she's been through a lot of awful shit, but Ramsay did also make the comment "I'm apart of you now".
She's been surrounded by such nasty and power hungry people for years, that some of it has probably ended up rubbing off on her, along with the fact she already had a bit of spitefulness in her and thought she was better than Arya and Jon when they were all younger.

RhinoGirl · 14/08/2017 08:13

I wonder how they're all going to take if Jon does actually bend the knee...

Summerisdone · 14/08/2017 08:26

After me getting my distrust of Sansa off my chest, I forgot to mention my excitement with the rest of the episode:

Dany is going batshit crazy and I think whilst she will be winning for a while, she'll ultimately be her own downfall if she doesn't get her morals back in check.
She's also definitely not going to like it when it comes out that Jon has more claim to the throne than her now we know he's actually legitimate (OMG!)

Gendry is finally back!!!!
If he dies on the other side of the wall I will be so pissed because I don't think they're all coming back from this expedition, at least one of them will die, and most likely it will be a beloved character as we've not lost many of them yet (which isn't like GOT to be so kind to us viewers).

The dragon accepted Jon and allowed him to pet him, this shows that the dragon knows his loyalty also belongs to Jon, and I don't think Dany likes it too much, but was also in awe and impressed with the entire interaction at the same time.

Samwell best had of taken that clearly very important book along with him, as this is the proof needed for Jon to claim his place and true identity, especially as many are still unbelieving of Bran's visions.

I do wish Arya hadn't said all her thoughts to Sansa about her behaviour, because now she will have her hackles up and it's even easier for Little Finger to manipulate Sansa, which I think he is definitely planning to do with that scroll. I thinking catching Arya and knowing what she's up to was just an added bonus for him.

Oh my god, there's just so much that went on this episode that I could go on for ages about each scene Grin

Trills · 14/08/2017 08:29

Pay attention to Gilly - she is reading something interesting!

Trills · 14/08/2017 08:29

I think Cersei is lying. I don't think she's pregnant. She's just worried she is losing Jaime.

AryaUnderfoot · 14/08/2017 08:46

he didn't ask the monarch of the time whether it was ok to send his eldest son.

Sam took the black voluntarily - he wasn't sent. Randyll gave him the option to take the black or he would suffer an 'accident' when out hunting.

Don't get me wrong, Randyll is a horrible character. I think it's the burning of Dickon that's going to turn Sam against Dany. At the moment he doesn't know about it, but I'm sure he'll find out.

Weirdly, as the season goes on I think it's less and less likely that Dany will sit on the Iron Throne (or what's left of it). If she does, I hope all the dragons die first.

MyOtherProfile · 14/08/2017 08:51

Won't be able to watch this for days. Lets cut to the important issue. How was the Hound? Grin

TheNightmanCometh · 14/08/2017 08:55

So Cersei telling Jaime she's pregnant means he's not going to off her.

AryaUnderfoot · 14/08/2017 08:55

How was the Hound?

I think they should make him stand next to Kit more. He makes him look like a Hobbit! Grin

He has the sexiest glower in the world!

TheNightmanCometh · 14/08/2017 08:58

If he dies on the other side of the wall I will be so pissed because I don't think they're all coming back from this expedition, at least one of them will die, and most likely it will be a beloved character as we've not lost many of them yet (which isn't like GOT to be so kind to us viewers).

Tormund seems the obvious choice. Him and one of the non-Hound Brotherhood lot. Possibly Davos but I reckon the other two are more likely choices.

WingMirrorSpider · 14/08/2017 09:05

Davis isn't going with them though so I think he'll be ok Wink

It's Jon, Tormund, Jorah, Gendry, Beric, Thiros and the Hound.

You'd think they'd have taken a couple more disposable random wildlings with them.

I loved Tyrion and Varys' scene. It was nice to have a quieter scene in amongst the fast pace of everything else that's happening. It took me back to some of the earlier series.

TheNightmanCometh · 14/08/2017 09:10

Is he not? I'm going for Tormund plus one of the Brotherhood then. Maybe Beric as it would be interesting to see what happens if immortality meets White Walkers.

Underthemoonlight · 14/08/2017 09:23

What a scene Jon stroking the dragon. I sense daneries feels threatened by Jon but also drawn to him. Glad he's not a bastard and has more claim to the throne however I can't see Jon wanting to rule the 7 kingdoms! Bloody Sam better have taken that book!!!!

I think cersi will be pregnant but have a miscarriage. My thoughts on Dany killing the tullys - They beytrayed the Tyrell's who they were loyal to, Randy sent his son to the wall or have him killed if he didn't . So there was no love loss there. I did feel sorry for Dickon but he made a choice. I don't think she's any harsher than the lannisters when they got the bolton and Freys to attack at the red wedding or when rob beheaded lord karstark or when the lanniasters raided kingslanding and ordered the mountain to kill Elia Martel and her children or when Jon hung those who beytrayed him. As Stannis Baratheon said "you show to much kindness people don't fear you" she gave them a choice and they made their choice.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/08/2017 09:41

Great episode. Only two more to go and it's the end of the series. Sad

I have no idea how I'm going to wait for Series 8. I bet they make us wait longer than a year again. Hmm

So good to see Gendry again. Hope Bronn has the sense to get out of King's Landing before Cersei gets her hands on him.

NotYoonique · 14/08/2017 10:07

If they have brought Gendry back and put him in the opening credits just to kill him I will be so angry.

I love Sam but I was shouting "SHUT UP SAM" at the TV

Underthemoonlight · 14/08/2017 10:16

I have a feeling that gendry might challenge his claim to the iron throne next season. He seemed to refer to his father a lot considering he didn't know him.
