I thought we could do with a thread for those of us who have read all the spoilers for the full season.

Nothing is not allowed.

I assumed they included Sam and Gilly's flying visit home so that Sam ended up with a valyrian steel sword. I don't want Sam to have anguish etc, he's too nice, bless his little cotton socks. I do wonder about him returning to Jon though, wouldn't he still be bound by his oath to the nights watch?

On another spoiler it said Sam.would meet Jaquen hagar (excuse spelling) en route. I just cant believe that.

Yes, two words Zombie Dragon

So glad I found this thread.

What's the relevance of Cersei's miscarriage? Can somebodly explain in simple terms please?

AryaUnderfoot · 06/08/2017 19:53

That sounds like book fanservice Middleoftheroad. In the books Sam meets Jaqen at the Citadel. I don't think there's time for them to 'go there' with the show. There are too many other storylines to follow.

Relevance of the miscarriage is that Cersei's life has been dominated by the Maggy the Frog prophecy. To summarise, she thought she would have 3 children who would all die. Then a younger, more beautiful queen would take her place. Then (book only) the Valonqar (younger brother or sibling in High Valyrian) would strangle her. If she is pregnant again and has another child then she 'breaks' the hold the prophecy has had over her life and caused much of her madness and irrational paranoia.

Thanks Arya
Have read first two books and watched show too many times, yet still overlooked that Shock

Thanks for the simple explanation. I love these threads as the knowledge is just incredible.

AryaUnderfoot · 06/08/2017 20:05

You're welcome Middle

I don't actually feel knowledgeable enough about the books to post on Westeros.org. That's where the real experts hang out!

Middleoftheroad · 06/08/2017 20:13

God, I'm such a novice then!

Though DH thinks I'm obsessed. He watches on a base level, for the dragons and walkers on a Mon evening (my 2nd watch) and still asks who's who every week, rustling crisps, wanting to pause for comfort breaks Angry

I love the early morning watch. On my own, uninterrupted and without somebody saying "didn't he have his nob chopped off?' Shock

Figureof80 · 06/08/2017 20:18

Does Jon go beyond the wall to grab the Wight? If so why can he go backwards and forwards across the wall when Benjen can't? They have both been dead and reanimated.

I also wonder with Jon being a undead Tergaryen can he perhaps ride the zombie dragon?

AryaUnderfoot · 06/08/2017 20:19

I'm very obsessed. It's better and less stressful than worrying about 'real' events like the state of world politics. The worst that can happen is the annilhilation of Westeros and at least I don't have to live there.

AryaUnderfoot · 06/08/2017 20:23

Firegureof80 that's what's known as a plot hole. Maybe they go by boat around the wall. It's supposed to be at Eastwatch by the Sea. Maybe he goes along the beach at low time Hmm.

Only time will tell.

I think an undead Targ should be able to ride a zombie dragon. Maybe the zombie dragon is the song of ice and fire...

Leaks suggest he does go beyond the wall on the Wight hunt. The trailer scenes certainly look like it.

MrsJoyOdell · 06/08/2017 20:35

I am ridiculously excited at the prospect of seeing zombie dragon.

DH thinks that Sansa will be queen of Westeros in the end. I am more Hmm

Mrsmartell08 · 06/08/2017 20:38

To me it's obv jon is the song of ice and fire - he is also legitimate if spoliers are correct.
He is the heir to the iron throne. Can't see;
A) dany accepting that
B ) Jon wanting that
All the stark kids are now officially a sandwich short of a picnic because of the awful things that have happened to them :(
Gendry and arya - is like to see that but arya is very different now to the girl she was when they first met.
I'd like to see Jaime and brienne get together - won't happen but it would be nice
Can't wait to see jon and arya reunited

Mrsmartell08 · 06/08/2017 20:39

Sam will be the hero of this story
Mark my words

Figureof80 · 06/08/2017 20:39

Firegureof80! Why didn't I think of that? Will have to do a name change.

I think Jon is ice (undead) and fire (Targaryen).

I also suspect the bittersweet ending is they have to remove all the children of the forest type magic from the world to save themselves. So all the undead turn to dust including Jon and the dragons disappear. Danny gets the throne but loses everything she loves.

FanwankTheAbsurd · 06/08/2017 20:40

I think Jon and Dany will both perish in the end. I think Sansa will want to be Queen in the North and Lady of Winterfell, with Arya by her side to kill anyone who pisses her off.

I'd like to see Jamie and Tyrion reconciled, perhaps with Jamie on the Iron Throne with Tyrion as his hand. If that happened then maybe Brienne as his Queen? I know it would never happen, but they're so sweet together...sorry Tormund.

I'd also like Ser Davos to find love.

But I'm a hopeless romantic.

In reality, they'll all die and the Night King (who is weirdly sexy in his own way) will rule all.

FanwankTheAbsurd · 06/08/2017 20:41

Is it wrong that I think the Night King is sexy?

Didn't Cersei & Robert have a child that died? In the TV show she mentions it to Catelyn after Bran's 'fall'. And later she says something about the loss of their first son to Robert.
And in the books she has an abortion.

I agree with you that I think it's to do with the prophecy, and I can see how book-wise it wouldn't affect the prophecy. But in the TV show the child was alive for a short time, meaning she's already had 4 children.

Middleoftheroad · 06/08/2017 21:16

WhittersE

Yes I recall they had a child in the show.

And if a reanimated Jon can cross the wall I definitely don't get how they could Wightnap a walker across...

ElenaGreco123 · 06/08/2017 22:39

You can go round the Wall at Eastwatch, you don't have to cross. I forgot this, but the wiki says:
Because their mammoths are too big to travel through the Wall at Castle Black, the giants are sent east to round the Wall at Eastwatch.

Furthermore there was a raven from Eastwatch in the books reporting about "dead things in the water" - whatever that means.
