Yes, Sandor and Jaime both looked on as Sansa and Rhaella were beaten, and seemed to be the only Kingsguards bothered about it. People keep going on about Aerys's amazing Kingsguard and how it all went downhill with Jaime. I think Rhaella Targaryen, Brandon and Rickard Stark would beg to differ.

As Brienne 's grandmother was a Targ, she could easily be Dunk's

I think I may have found the 'evidence' linking Birnne with Dunk....

In her second chapter in Feast she gets to Duskendale and decides to have the Lothston shield she was given in Harrenhal repainted (for obvious reasons). She tells the painter that she wants it to be re-painted based on a shield she used to look at in her father's armoury.

When the shield is later delivered she reminisces again on how she used to look at that painting on the shield in her father's collection and how it isn't really a coat of arms.

The picture is (no prizes for guessing at this point) a tree and a falling star....

Apparently Martin did say that a descendent of Dunk's would be in Feast. Maybe it's a bit too obvious.

I love Dunk and Egg stories - I love the insight into Targ history without having to wade though a 'fake history' such as WOIAF.

I, too, find Westeros.org a bit too... intense. There is some strange sort of Godwin's Law that says every thread about Dany/Sansa ends up in discussions about Stockholm Syndrome and any unidentifed character always has to be Howland Reed. Then there are the 'flat-earthers' who just will not accept that R+L=J!

Dunk's descendant could even be Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion. Their great grandma is Dunk's love interest from the Sworn Shield, the Lady Rohanne Webber. Who really fancied Dunk even before he was powerful.

'Leaked' scripts seem to suggest an implication of Cleganebowl in S8. I may have a rant about that. I'm not convinced by the dragonpit scene and the fact that Cersei seems to be clinging onto power into S8. Jon/Dany I can cope with and Wight dragon.

I had not realised Rohanne Webber was an ancestor of Cersei's. The thing I found most 'eww' when reading about her was the fact that she gave birth to her first child when she was 13 and her husband was 55!

I'm sure I've heard that Hodor could also be a descendent of Dunk. Maybe it's all of them - he did travel a lot!

I'd also like to bagsy Gwendoline Christie if I could be cheeky and have two. I'm not at all that way inclined but I do have somewhat of a girl crush on her. Her interviews with Nickolai are always hysterical.
