I'm with you Oblomov. I've not read the book, and have just finished episode 2. I'm not massively sold on it yet...if I never saw another episode I wouldn't really care. Hoping it picks up soon!

Am scratching my head at that too Clawdy. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that he isn't an ordinary kid imo.

No, it was the way she crept into his bed and said "you are COMPLETELY normal", which made me think, no, no you're not.
I mean the sentence in itself is an odd thing to say.
Made me suspect that the opposite must be true, if she's going to such an extent to convince both him and herself.

She's in denial. She knows something isn't right and doesn't want to admit it.

Maybe he has something about him, some fits, or memory loss, or did something very bad at his old school? That no one could prove? Or that he genuinely couldn't remember. Like a split personality.
Maybe severe anger problems. Like in a fit, and then can't remember anything about it?

But there is something there I think.

I'm not enjoying the whole Celeste thing. I like skarsgard a lot (true blood) , but I'm not enjoying him in this.
Not enjoying the horrible him and the abuse of her, but I'm also struggling to watch her.

Then after that particular scene, she had only just had sex with him before he left to go on his business trip. She then told Madeline that she liked the rough making up sex? Is that how she sees it?

Does she just put up with it. As someone who is abused?
Or worse still, does she also have anger issues? And also quite enjoy the hard aggressive side of the sex? Because if she did, would that make it very dark? That can't be it, can it?

And does David Clarke appear in all of Kelley's programmes?

I'm reading the book at the moment... it is better than the programme as obviously it has more written detail that doesn't come across on TV. I'm going to finish the book before I watch anymore episodes. Am really enjoying it though.

I struggle with watching Nicole K in general too. I find her flawless plastic skin (also body) distracting - for a better word - and really spoils her acting

WRT to Celeste and Berry, my take is that they both equally enjoyed the rough / violent sex but things are rapidly deteriorating and going off hand

Do we know from the witnesses tales who is dead? 'Cause I don't often catch what they say to the Police - I should rewind but haven't done yet and not read any reviews of the episodes so far

They haven't said who has died yet, but if it's anything like the book it will all happen right at the end.
