Is this going to be our new Revenge/Desparate Housewives fix? www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/feb/17/big-little-lies-nicole-kidman-and-reese-witherspoon-shine-in-masterful-twist-on-desperate-housewives

I've just watched episode 3 and also found it a bit slow. I'll stick it out to the end though (if I can watch all of Lost 7 eps of this will be a doddle!). I have read the book and found it a lot better and I don't remember there being so much emphasis on the sex? I still don't like NK she seems too old and botoxed and some of the male characters are a bit creepy. I like LD as Renata best at the moment.

Clawdy · 29/03/2017 22:27

The sex scenes are beginning to get on my nerves - they're so over the top.

EachandEveryone · 30/03/2017 02:03

Im still enjoying it. I just dont get why she came back to where her rapists lives.

Harvest Moon is one of my all time favourite tracks, makes me yearn for a road trip.

Do we know it's the same place? All they've shown is a hotel room and a beach.

TheShapeofYou · 30/03/2017 11:36

Dozer did you know James Tupper and Anne Heche are together? And have a child together Smile Maybe would be a bit tricky to be on the same show together.

Enjoying this thread more than the show

Muddlingalongalone · 30/03/2017 12:51

Just found this thread. I found episode 1 & 2 a bit me & really enjoyed episode 3 - actually starting to feel sucked in.
I agree with the speculation that Perry is Ziggy's dad - but maybe too obvious??

Oblomov17 · 30/03/2017 13:40

OMG David Clarke, is with Anne Heche? Who was with Ellen de Generes, until they split and Ellen got with Portia de Rossi?

Blimey. I cant keep up!!

Oblomov17 · 30/03/2017 13:50

Where was Jane when she got raped? In her old town?
Why did she come here?

Because Celeste said in counselling, I gave up my career and my friends to move here with you (Perry). So where was Celeste before? And that means that Perry has lived here for some time? because Celeste moved to monteray, to be with him.

QuinoaKeen · 03/04/2017 06:32

Hang in there til the final episode. IT IS WORTH IT.

I've just seen it and it's the best episode of the series.

Dozer · 03/04/2017 07:23

Remember, no spoilers! How many episodes are there?

QuinoaKeen · 03/04/2017 07:51

I didn't give any spoilers. There are seven.

farfarawayfromhome · 03/04/2017 08:23

Watching final episode 7 tonight. Even though I've read the book and know what happens...I CANT WAIT!!

Dozer · 03/04/2017 10:36

Know you weren't, just worried that someone might!

So in the UK we've had episode 3, 4 to go!

Oblomov17 · 03/04/2017 23:10

Just watched 4. Don't know what they say. Wierd episode. What did I learn? Nothing. How has the story developed? Not much. A bit slow and non descript. Again. Isn't that what I said last week. Am I really enjoying this? Not sure I am.

Or, change that. Plastic NK, who I haven't enjoyed so far, was BEYOND superb as a lawyer, with the Mayor.

That was the only bit I really enjoyed.

5,6, and 7, better be REALLY good....

25bottles · 04/04/2017 00:45

Yeah found it a bit shit and predictable.
Nk resists and gets her throat grabbed again, saw that coming.

differentnameforthis · 04/04/2017 10:14

Nk resists and gets her throat grabbed again, saw that coming. Yeah, DV is predictable like that... Hmm

happystory · 04/04/2017 10:27

What's up with the teacher? 'I'll keep it secret' err no teachers shouldn't say this. Also meeting Ziggy's mum privately and making out there is some big problem...

HollyJollyDillydolly · 04/04/2017 10:53

Watched final episode last night. It was alright, preferred the book but that's usually the case.

QuinoaKeen · 04/04/2017 10:57

Just read an article from The New Yorker (don't go searching for it, it has spoilers) praising Nicole Kidman's performance to high heaven.

Um what?

It really is when it's badly portrayed Hmm

farfarawayfromhome · 04/04/2017 14:46

Watched the finale last night and loved it. In NK's defence she really grew on me as it progressed.

TheShapeofYou · 04/04/2017 21:21

Just caught up on last night's episode (#4). Quite enjoyed it, but think it's because I have such low expectations...Hmm

Agree NK was finally watchable. That was really weird with the teacher, as if that would happen ! She has no proof that Ziggy has done anything.

I'm on holiday next week, and can't say I'm going to miss it/be desperate to catch up when I'm back!

Missanneshirley · 04/04/2017 23:50

I've also read the book and am enjoying the show more now!
I raced through it and was half asleep a lot of the time I was reading, but is the theatre guy who kissed RW in the book? And if not, why would they add him? I think madeline is much more likable on paper!

Oblomov17 · 05/04/2017 07:33

No, Joseph (Santiago Cabrera) ❤️ is only mentioned in the book. David e Kelley chose to make the part bigger, to convince Santiago to take the part : the implication that there was a previous affair, the declaration of love now: all directors choice and not in the book.
