There is a girl on YT who has managed to find gay subtext in just about every minute of every Sherlock episode! I was listening while decorating the living room and ended up very absorbed. But I do worry some of the girls in that fandom are too invested. When the new trailer came out, with Sherlock saying 'I love you' to someone girls were posting clips of themselves crying hysterically over it. I hope they aren't disappointed, but I just can't see Moffat and Gatiss getting the green light from the BBC to turn Sherlock and John into lovers!

I can't see it either. They've always said they love messing with people's heads over such speculation - the fact Mrs Hudson and the cafe owner assumed they were a couple; the almost kiss between Sherlock and Moriarty, and of course THAT kiss between Sherlock and Molly

I may disappear from this thread. DD (2.10) is kicking off in bed because she needs a poo but is withholding (deep joy), so DH and I are taking it in turns to resettle her. I suspect the pause button will be employed a bit this evening

Not convinced we will get any Johnlock, although it would be cool. I'm a bit of a fangirl at heart - although not the hysterical kind.

I think half the fun is in the suggestion of it. To have Sherlock and John just out and out confess undying love and have a snog would be a bit after the fact. No little suggestions, innuendos, etc. It's more fun this way!

What was the point of John's little fling, to make us think 'Ah well, he was going off her anyway'? or 'Oh that's why he is so mad at Sherlock, his own guilt for playing away'

Bit too many dramatic side face shots and sweeping about a bit for me.

Can't put my finger on it but it's like it's taking itself a bit too seriously now and trying to go confusingsly 'Aha no it was the receptionist that did it!'

Perhaps the fling will return?

I'm disappointed. I actually liked Mary - they didn't need to make John redundant to have her part of the dynamic. And the fling bit was just weird and really out of character.

Just wasn't as gripped as I usually was. Bring back Moriarty!
