Wow. Ford does care. So that's why he keeps telling the hosts not to trust the humans. They needed time... So 35 years ago the robots didn't go crazy. That's season 2.

Giselaw · 06/12/2016 07:42

So who thinks Maeve was programmed to return to the park at the last minute? And who thinks that was free will? I suspect she was programmed as Ford told Bernard he still need to suffer more before they're ready.

I don't understand why the human keeps helping Maeve.

It looks like her new storyline is not a loop but then it has to be if she's part of the new narrative, no?

Whether or not it's a loop would determine if the staff are really humans or she just can't see it. Doesn't look like anything to me.

Bernard made a good point - she never asks herself why she feels the need to do something.

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 08:03

What did the note to Maeve say?

Also happened to Stubbs?! Or did I miss that? Confused

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 08:04

What happened to Stubbs?

yumyumpoppycat · 06/12/2016 08:15

Think stubbs is for season 2.

The note gave the location of maeves daughter in some kind of coordinates. Why would tech guy give it to her as she was leaving though and not earlier on?

Does Ford care or does he just want to pay back the board? Although MIB's face was a picture of delight Grin I think the swooshy Board woman is a host possibly - her movements looked slightly robotic in Ford's office.

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 08:23

I didn't think the final was amazing tbh. It threw up more questions than it answered (which is fine) but I was expecting some more twists I think. Have to admit I was a bit disappointed that MIB turned out to be William, who in turn was a complete areshole.

I think the thing about Ford being a host will depend on whether Hopkins wants to return for S2. Apparently Ed Harris has already confirmed he's coming back.

As for the hosts going 'rogue', shooting the board etc., how will that free them? Surely it's more likely that they'll be destroyed and the Park shut down? I'm assuming this is still a world in which the Terminator movies exist Wink

Excited about the possibilities of other 'worlds' though.

Orangetoffee · 06/12/2016 09:49

I thought it was very cleverly done, the beach scene was a brilliant twist.

Lots of questions still to be answered but it didn't feel like we are left hanging.

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 09:54

Yeah, I thought the beach scene was brilliantly done.

I also laughed when Felix discovered Bernard was a host.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 06/12/2016 09:57

I wondered about whether the hosts going murdery would be counter-productive, as surely the park would close down. But who pretty much owns the park and WANTS them to go murdery? MIB.

Best quote I read was on Reddit where someone said 'So basically William turned bad because he lost his saved game data.' Genuinely laughed at that.

Orangetoffee · 06/12/2016 10:23

Yes that Felix moment was funny, I do like the chemistry between Maeve and Felix.

That reddit quote is great Grin

lurkinghusband · 06/12/2016 11:53

Could the hosts replace the board ?

Pleased I wasn't the only one left wondering about Stubbs.

BeyondTheHarpy · 06/12/2016 11:56

I'm rewatching with DH now, I missed felix's reaction to Bernarnold first time Grin

I hope maeve meets up with him on her way to find her daughter and they leave happily ever after and have half host half human babies!!

BeyondTheHarpy · 06/12/2016 12:13

I bawled my eyes out at maeve getting off the train this time

I also spotted clem was the woman in the woods with the shotgun

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 13:09

Also, anyone catch the Jurassic Park reference when Delores was talking to MIB?

Poor old Teddy though. He comes across as not very bright, bless 'im. How did he know where Delores would be when he had the flashback?

Orangetoffee · 06/12/2016 13:22

Ah so the hosts charging out of the woods were the ones from the cold storage, the one that was empty when designer bloke went there at the end. I hadn't spotted that.

BeyondTheHarpy · 06/12/2016 13:24

IMAGINE IF ONE OF THE OTHER WORLDS IS JURRASIC PARK!!! Shock

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 13:28

So what happened to Peter Abernathy? I don't think I understood what Charlotte Hale and Sizemore were supposed to be doing there.

Also, the bit where Bernarnold said it wasn't the first time he'd been awake and it wasn't the first time Maeve had woken him up? What did that mean? Even Maeve looked Hmm at that!

lurkinghusband · 06/12/2016 13:42

Also, the bit where Bernarnold said it wasn't the first time he'd been awake and it wasn't the first time Maeve had woken him up? What did that mean?

The implication is the events we saw had all happened previously (hence Fords unsurprise that Bernard/Arnold had "turned on him"). Also Fords complete lack of surprise that Bernard - who blew his brains out previously - should reappear back to rights.

Groundhog Day, springs to mind ....

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 06/12/2016 13:46

I think Ford intended for Bernard to be brought back online after shooting himself though. It adds another layer of suffering to help make him conscious.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 06/12/2016 13:47

And Felix has to be a host, surely.

Orangetoffee · 06/12/2016 13:53

Maybe Abernathy is leading the rebellion hosts. Charlotte and Sizemore needed the storage hosts for their own storyline I think.

TheHiphopopotamus · 06/12/2016 13:59

Didn't Hale & Sizemore upload some data or something into Abernathy but how were they planning on getting it out of the Park? I think he will have been among the host posse, but if they're all the ones who have previously gone mad due to the maze thing, why have them hanging around instead of destroying them.

Also, have I imagined it or does the maze say DIG in the middle of it?

Giselaw · 06/12/2016 20:01

All the ones in cold storage were begining on the path to consciousness/sentience or were well on their way. Dolores' father could "see" the photo he was meant to not see. Bernard mentioned it's not the first time Maeve "woke" and he and Ford talked about "rolling them back." Even Dolores attained it - she solved the maze and as she tells MIB, she lost it. They rolled her back. Ones in basement didn't get rolled back, just decommissioned as they were deemed too unstable. And as Bernard told Maeve, most go insane.

Badcat666 · 06/12/2016 20:06

God it was SO GOOD! SOOOO GOOD! So many twists and turns. Me and OH were watching with mouths open.

I think with Mauve she had her code changed JUST to the point of her getting on the train but after that it was her own free will that made her get off to look for her daughter.

And I don't think Ford is dead. I think he was building a host of himself in the basement of the house so the host copy got shot but he is still alive. No way do I think he would leave his creations alone at this stage.

I WANT MORE!!!!!!!!

AlabasterSnowball · 06/12/2016 21:53

Just finished watching it, mind blown. That was AMAZING!!!!! Shock
