Could the ghost nation hosts that Asley wandered upon at the end of the episode be the mystery hosts? They didn't respond to him in the same way Ford's family didn't obey Bernard? I actually really think Ford is creating himself....ooh or a man in black host. Has anyone seen the 1970s movie that the series is based on (it was on nowtv movies recently)? If so a MIB host makes total sense.

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 18:58

Bernarnold Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 30/11/2016 18:58

I don't think Elsie is dead because we didn't see her actually dead.

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 19:40

Yep. As said above, if it didn't happen on-screen, it didn't happen.

I wonder if Bernarnold is actually more in control of himself than Ford realises and is pretending to obey.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/11/2016 20:00

That could be interesting. I thought Ford talked about 'us' in terms of having been crested as well - but then the line about not trusting humans made me doubt that.
I thought Maeve's new abilities were down yo the alterations she got Velix and Sylvester to nake, rather than her evolving. Is it possible Arnold made Ford, who then killed him but was able to recreate Arnold's superior abilities in Bernard? Maybe Ford doesn't know he's a host?
I'm being silly now, aren't I? Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 30/11/2016 20:04

Shotgun that is a good idea!

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 20:06

But Ford is aging unlike the hosts, so unlikely unless he is a very advanced version

TheInternetIsForPorn · 30/11/2016 20:27

I thought they were building to a Teddy IS Wyatt revelation but it appears not.

KickAssAngel · 30/11/2016 20:28

My take: 35 years ago, William and Delores were at the village with the church spire. They're attacked by William's BIL, and William kills him. Then Arnold (and maybe others) attempt to sort out the problem, and Delores kills Arnold. That area of the park is shut down, and the town is covered by sand, leaving just the spire sticking up & decaying.

No-one realizes that William killed his BIL, they think it was Delores. So William goes home, marries, and becomes a model citizen. Each year he returns to the park and reminds Delores of what she did (hence the screaming in the barn when he drags her in there). He ages, and becomes the MIB. Eventually, his wife kills herself. Even though William behaved impeccably, she always knew that he could be a killer.

This means that William/MIB is one of the key investors in the park.

Not sure about all the stuff to do with constellations and the information that the corporation are after - I suspect that those will be Season 2 explanations.

Possibly the gun and photo were buried by Delores' farm by William/MIB to see if it would jog her memory. Possibly her mother is a host version of his wife.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/11/2016 20:31

And with the barn scene, what does he say to Dolores before we hear the screaming? Is it something like, let me tell you how it is! (Guessing) Time for a google!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/11/2016 20:35

Ah, he says, 'Why don't we reacquaint ourselves, Dolores, start at the beginning.'

superoz · 30/11/2016 21:49

When Bernard asked Ford to show him his past, was it all real? If so Theresa was definitely a host?
dh has a theory they are in fact all hosts!

I wonder if Elsie is still alive, I hope they haven't dragged it out just to reveal she is actually dead in the next episode.

MIB definitely has to be William, though I'm trying to work out what timeline all the scenes are on.

Is Dolores Wyatt? She seemed to have the ability to kill quite easily. In one of her revisits to the past she was also at the village where everyone was murdered.

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 22:15

Wyatt can persuade hosts they are seeing what isn't there (teddy killing 'the army' who were in fact regular civvies) which points to maeve imo, not Dolores.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/11/2016 22:17

Good point - she could have been dictating the narrative, as when she got the gunslingers to do target practise on each other.

ijustwannadance · 01/12/2016 08:28

It would make more sense to me if Bernard was Wyatt then, as he likes whispering things to them. Perhaps he sussed what Ford was up to before he died and buried a piece of code deep in the hosts minds so he could regain control if he eas nrought back.
Bernard seems the most 'real' host so maybe Ford finally figured out the whole part human brain/part robot thing.

I wonder if all those naked ones in the cellar are going to come back online next week.

ijustwannadance · 01/12/2016 08:39

Although, the little girl that played Lorenzo's daughter is would be my personal choice. Never trust the kidsGrin

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 01/12/2016 08:47

I thought that Dolores having her clothes swap as she was walking through the church was an indication that she had made this journey before and her mind was flashing back and forth from each of the times she had, occurring in different timelines. We know hosts have already done things 'for the first time' only to discover they've actually done it before (Maeveand the drawings, Bernard and the conversation with Ford).

My dh was distraught at Bernard's death but I was very optimistic - told him 'they're doing a Jon Snow! if they can bring Jon Snow back they can bring Bernard back.'

'Til My dh pointed out 'but what if he isn't a Jon Snow? What if they've just pulled a 'Ned Stark' on us?'

Bastards!!!!

rumbelina · 01/12/2016 12:38

I'm starting to understand the towns - thanks. I might try the youtube/timeline things as I'm finding it really hard to organise it all in my head. The Missing had nothing on this!

So...Wyatt....? Haven't we seen Wyatt? In my head he has a beard. Or is that what the hosts are remembering but it's not actually him...?? Confused!

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/12/2016 13:29

In the last episode, how did Maeve know that Bernold was a host?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 01/12/2016 13:37

Was that just down to her increased capabilities? So she's now able to recognise them?

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/12/2016 13:41

Hmm, maybe...

Also, when Bernold was remembering stuff, why did Theresa freeze in the middle of the conversation about practicing. It seemed to imply that she was a host, but was it just a corrupt memory?

KickAssAngel · 01/12/2016 13:52

I thought that was him freezing the memory.

All the times when Delores changes clothes - she has repeatedly attempted to get back to the church, but previous times have gone wrong, so she's seen flashbacks (like Maeve and her daughter) of those previous attempts. Although the memory was erased, somehow she kind of knows about it and keeps trying to get back there.

For all we know, she could have got back there before, then she gets picked up, reset, and put on her farm to start over again. atm it reads like this is the first time that Delores & William have got back to the church (partly because it was buried) but it may not be.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 01/12/2016 14:16

.

Embolio · 01/12/2016 14:28

A theory I've read on Reddit is that 'wyatt' is based on Dolores - it was her that carries out the massacre 30 odd years ago and Ford has appropriated it for his new storyline for reasons unknown.

There are also I think 3 timelines -

  • 35+ years ago, church is unburied, Arnold is talking to Dolores (she wears blue dress) about the maze. There is a massacre, Arnold is killed.
  • 30 years ago- William and Logan storyline
  • the present- MIB, Dolores retracing her steps.

The subreddit is great for theories if anyone hasn't seen it but watch out for spoilers after Sunday (when new episode airs in US)

yumyumpoppycat · 01/12/2016 16:27

Bernards a robot so not dead ... surely Ford will wipe and restore him, if not maeve could have him fixed by her tech friends?
