The office under the church scenes were very confusing, I for sure couldn't make out which timeline was which and which bodies belonged where.

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 13:19

There are also some good videos on YouTube explaining the 'presumed' timelines and putting the storylines into what they perceive as their order. Obviously, this might all be rubbish, but it does kind of help get your head around it a bit more (I'm overly invested in this series Grin).

I suppose the big question that needs answering is why and how did Delores kill Arnold? And why was she put back into service when she'd killed a human unless it was at Ford's behest.

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 13:59

What baffles me is that why would he bother making Bernard once Arnold died. Arnold was clearly the better programmer and Bernard seems almost better than Ford. So how would Ford be able to programme a better programmer than himself?
Was his brain downloaded somehow? Maybe Arnold is still in there. I also don't think he shot himself. That was for show.

Hate that it will most likely have a cliffhanger ending next week!

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 14:40

I def agree that Bernard shooting himself was for show. Important deaths happen onscreen, not behind screening Grin

I was wondering where Dolores wound went, so yes I thInk she's been sleepwalking through her former life. That would also explain how she saw that flashback of herself dead in the water, in the cowboy outfit

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 14:42

I do have a question though. Bernard was made when Ford was younger - how did no one notice he didn't age over that time period?!

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 15:20

I think the bit earlier on in the season when Delores has the run in with MIB and runs off and comes across William & Logan was a bit of misdirection.

I think the W&L bit was part of her original storyline.

Then later on, MIB visits the park, triggers Delores memories and Delores retraces her steps that she took previously with W&L (which would make sense of someone saying to Stubbs that a host had gone out of her loop and also how Delores is seeing herself apparently dead in the river and in the parade at the orgy town).

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 15:32

I wonder where Peter Abernathy's photo comes into it all too. Does anyone know how long the final episode is? They have a lot to cram in if it's just an hour.

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 15:49

Bernard wasn't made when Ford was younger after he first died. He is a more recent host. When he regressed his first memory of coming online was talking to older Ford who said, " It's been a while old friend" (or similar) I'm thinking Ford had to wait long enough for people not to remember what Arnold looked like.
Some of the older flashbacks will be from when he was Arnold.

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 15:55

Of course if all of the staff are hosts, they wouldn't notice Bernard's lack of aging... (and it would also mean that the staff storylines could have happened at any time between the 35 years ago 'start' and the present...!!)

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 15:56

Yes Ijust, it was an older Ford, but not old Ford. I'd say about Hannibal age at a guess Grin

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 16:20

Final episode is 90 minutes and apparently all our questions will be answered except for one..................................

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 16:23

Some obsessive rewatching later... Dolores whispers "william" when she hears the door, while mib is still outside. Then he comes in, says "hello Dolores" and she backs away.

Pictures here of Hannibal age AH along with Ford from the later scenes with Bernard, and from the scene where Bernard is switched on...

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 16:31

Dopey moment, that image is from silence of the lambs!! Here's one from Hannibal...

Who is interested in making a list of all of the questions we want to be answered in the finale

Mine are:

Who is the host Ford was creating when Bernard killed Theresa?

How did the picture of William's fiancé end up at Abernathy's farm?

Is MIB William?

Who is Dolores's mother?

And I wonder which of our questions will go unanswered...

Brightermornings · 30/11/2016 17:58

I am loving westworld. I am tempted to rewatch it to see what I've missed. Antony Hopkins is sooo good.

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 18:02

DH was telling me earlier, that apparently this entire season is a prequel and the 'real action' will happen in S2

Giselaw · 30/11/2016 18:03

Billy and his brother in law to be are discussion buying into the park and how they're unable to get any details about the incident - I can't remember if he says they can't even find his name or they can't find what he looked like. Which is puzzling, if Arnold's kid was in a hospital and died. You get the feeling death due to diseases was rare even 35-40 years back.

So I don't think Ford has any problems making Bernard as the identity of Arnold is so secretive while he was alive (but was he ever...hmmmm)

I don't quite understand how Bernard became a better programmer than the person who made him either - and I wonder if this is the downloading of human consciousness being the ultimate target for the board comes in. I don't think Ford is a host because of that key line...

"I've told you, Bernard, never place your trust in us. We're only human. Inevitably, we'll only disappoint you. Goodbye my friend."

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 18:11

How did the picture of William's fiancé end up at Abernathy's farm

Ooh, how did you find out it was Williams fiancé?! I don't think they've mentioned anything yet have they?

As to Bernard being a better programmer, surely that's natural progression for a host. Felix (?) said to Maeve something about the hosts being more intelligent or powerful (or something) than humans because of their processor and look at how Maeve has evolved since the start of the series.

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 18:22

Beyond I just meant Bernard isn't 30 years old. He's one of the newer bots. 10 years?

Maybe Ford has been messing about with them all in the hope of perfecting his techniques as he is bloody old and maybe wants a fresh body to put his mind in. Maybe the body being made under the house was a younger Ford.

BeyondTheHarpy · 30/11/2016 18:29

Ah yes, agree ijust :)

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 30/11/2016 18:32

TheHipHop Logan got the picture out of his pocket and showed it to William and said something like 'this is the woman you are supposed to marry'. You have got me doubting myself now though! Blush

Can anyone else confirm it was the same picture?

ijustwannadance · 30/11/2016 18:37

Maybe logan was buried on the farm. Grin
His gun was there too. The one he swapped in the bar fight. Did dolores pinch that one last night when she shot his men?

Orangetoffee · 30/11/2016 18:44

It was the same picture. Logan's sister, William's fiancee

More questions:
What happened 35 years ago?
What is Teddy's role?
Who is Wyatt?
Who is controlling Maeve, is it another storyline?
What is Charlotte planning?

yumyumpoppycat · 30/11/2016 18:45

Yes I thought it was the same picture from the farm. It was a picture of a girl with a blurry city in the background.

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/11/2016 18:53

Ah, right laundry, thanks. I missed that (I always miss something which is why I have to watch them at least twice Grin).

More questions for the list:

What happened to Elsie? Is she actually dead (I don't think we've saw her die, just Bernarnold attacking her)

What's the relevance of the constellation with the extra star?
