oh goodness, I thought that April would be ambitious, but it's just been announced season 3 will start in ... September!

Lessstressedhemum · 15/02/2017 18:14

I saw that on Facebook earlier. I am Sad. On the plus side, it gives them longer to make it lovely. And Sam is looking good!

snozzlemaid · 15/02/2017 18:14

Just seen this too. I wasn't expecting it as early as April as they've only filmed half the series so far but wasn't exoecting September.
Wonder how many times I can rewatch S1&2.

CiderwithBuda · 15/02/2017 18:40

Hello! I'm a recent Outlander nut. Finished watching it on Saturday. Am bereft. I read the books years ago - started shortly after Crosstitch as was came out and have read them all almost and I did sort of go off them. I think there was a big gap at one stage and by the time I read the next one I had forgotten who anyone was! Haven't read the Lord John ones.

Anyway - was on a plane and the man beside me was reading Written in my own heart's blood and we chatted about it and I thought to myself I must read it.

Only watched Outlander to catch myself up a bit! Am now obsessed. Have read the threads on here although am avoiding spoilers if I can - haven't read the spoilers threads but couldn't resist posting when I saw this in Active Convos. Have a Pinterest board. Am rereading the first book and had to break my "not buying any new books this year" pact. Am following on FB. Can't remember being this obsessed by anything for a long time!

I do remember seeing a pic of SH shortly after he was cast as J and I thought no, he's not my Jamie. OMG he is fantastic as Jamie. Really like CB as Claire too.

I might have to rewatch them all.

I think they've done a really good job in making the series. I thought it might be a bit meh but I think it's really good.

Might have to change my name to "MrsJamieFraserisonlyMrsJamieFraserashehasntmetme" Grin

Can you tell I'm obsessed?!

Lessstressedhemum · 15/02/2017 18:54

Now, now, Budapest, he is MINE.
Sam is perfect as Jamie. It's like he stepped out the pages of the book, at least for me. He is just how I imagine Jamie to be. Anyway, he has been my true love for over 20 years, so you can't have him! Grin

SeamusMacDubh · 20/02/2017 00:40

Can't believe it has taken me so long to find an Outlander thread on MN.

Hello, fellow Sassenachs! I love the show, I LOVE the books and Jamie has ruined me for all other men (including my DH).

CiderwithBuda · 20/02/2017 10:15

Lessstressed - as he is a figment of Diana Gabaldon's mind I think we can both have him! Grin

Seamus - I can't believe it took me so long to get around to watching it! Am now re-reading the books and started watching again too. DH is away all week so I can watch to my hearts content.

And when I'm not reading or watching I'm looking at Outlander stuff on Pinterest.

And yes Jamie has ruined me for all other men too!

JuneFromBethesda · 20/02/2017 17:52

September!!!! 😫

I saw a suggestion somewhere the other day about April too and it seemed like a fast turnaround, but I persuaded myself that by companies really do work that fast and obviously they want to start recouping their money as soon as possible Blush

I think I've watched season 1 so many times it's almost unwatchable now. (I rewatch bits of season 2 as well but I don't love the French episodes as much as the Scottish) I'm halfway through book 1 and greatly enjoying it so I guess the books will have to sustain me for the next six - SIX - months Sad

JuneFromBethesda · 20/02/2017 17:54

Funny that you saw a man reading one of the books Cider, I somehow imagined that Outlander fans were pretty exclusively female Grin

JuneFromBethesda · 20/02/2017 17:55

Autocorrect in my earlier post - I persuaded myself that tv companies really do work that fast ...

CiderwithBuda · 20/02/2017 18:02

June - I know! It was on a flight in Australia. He was an older man. 70s I'd say. Had read them all. Talking to him I initially thought he was gay as he came across as quite camp but he mentioned a wife.

Lessstressedhemum · 15/04/2017 08:55

Have you seen the new picture of Sam from season 3? Outrageous hottie as usual!

gamerwidow · 15/04/2017 18:39

Yes I was a bit worried about how they were going to age him but he looks great.
Season 3 trailer is due for release tomorrow, can't wait!

SeamusMacDubh · 15/04/2017 20:19

I'm so excited! I'm rereading the books, halfway through fiery cross at the moment.

Lessstressedhemum · 17/04/2017 09:55

Saw the teaser this morning. I didn't realise till after, but I was holding my breath all through it. It was heartbreaking.
On the bright side, Sam was looking ravishing (shallow pervert alert!)

gamerwidow · 17/04/2017 13:59

Loved the teaser it all looks amazing and it was very Jamie centric which is fitting because I always think Voyager belongs more to Jamie than to Claire.

Lessstressedhemum · 17/04/2017 17:55

Yes, I think so, Voyager is definitely a Jamie book. He has by far a more interesting storyline. Think I will probably cry a lot, just like every time I read the book.

JuneFromBethesda · 18/04/2017 21:47

That really was a teaser. Far too short [sulks]

I'm halfway through book 2 - turns out the French scenes are as turgid on paper as they are on screen Grin Wondering whether to hold off reading book 3 until I've seen the programme, or read the book first ....?

Lessstressedhemum · 18/04/2017 22:03

Read the book. It is soon good.

Lessstressedhemum · 19/04/2017 08:34

My Facebook is going mad with speculation, now. The sad thing is, I recognised every scene in the teaser, the same as all the mad women!

JuneFromBethesda · 19/04/2017 13:43
Grin
CiderwithBuda · 19/04/2017 14:01

I'm currently re--re-reading all the books. I have to admit I am skimming through a lot of the non Jamie/Claire/Brianna/Roger stuff.

Someone needs to lock DG into a room till she finishes the next book! She is too busy swanning around on location and writing short stories.

Lessstressed - I did too! I'm slightly obsessed. Even have a Pinterest page. I find it soothing. Blush

And I followed Sam H on Twitter. Then I was immediately followed by and Outlander actor. Was so excited. Unfortunately not the lovely Sam but the guy who played Ross the blacksmith! Grin

SeamusMacDubh · 19/04/2017 14:17

Totally agree with locking DG in a room until Go Tell The Bees is finished. Maybe she has writers block or something?!?! I hope not, I love her books. I'm planning on treating myself to Seven Standing Stones or whatever it's called in June 👌🏻

Shosha1 · 19/04/2017 14:18

Only found Outlander a few months ago on Amazon.

Loved it, so downloaded all the books on Audible, and have spent the time since with earbuds in :)

seedsofchange · 19/04/2017 19:58

Hurrah! Found you!
