Who watched Cold Feet, was great. Really enjoyed it.

Just got to watch Victoria now and then it's OG time!

Been busy baking tonight. After I mentioned the apple and ginger cake last night, I thought it was time I made it myself, so I did. Three blackberry and apple sponges as well. Kitchen was a tip afterwards!

Just loving all the OG hype. Watched the BBC Breakfast interview with MK twice (ok, mainly to see the CJ stuff) and enjoyed the link ice posted about the more mature CJ.

The prequel .... quick question. How on earth does Elvis Harte get away with that hairstyle, nice though it is? Thought the army was all about short back and sides.

Just thinking about regional accents Rhu. I find them fascinating, do you? I used to work for an Australian HR manager (in the days when HR was Personnel) and he said when he first came to Britain to live, he was intrigued with the variety of accents we had. He said that in Australia, you could go for hundreds if not thousands of miles and people still sounded the same. Less dense population maybe?

I'm northern born and bred as the likes of Rich and Nickel will verify, but I sound nothing like MK and she was brought up only around 30 miles from where I live. She has a very distinctive Mancunian accent.

I had the opposite reaction to her accent ilove, it was very recognisable to me as a south Manchester/north Cheshire accent (where I was born and raised). I just googled and find she is from Stockport! I haven't lived in the North West for 30 years now but I'm still recognisably a northerner (bath, grass etc).

I find accepts fascinating. The One Show did a few segments on it last year. How they develop and how they can be so different within a small radius.

Where I used to work, we had a mixture of Lancashire accents as some people came from the Blackpool/Fylde coast area, then Preston and also Blackburn/Darwen/Accrington. At the time, I'd never really come across east Lancashire accents much and it was absolutely fascinating that a Blackburn accent was very distinct from Darwen, yet the two towns were only about four miles apart. It was all a bit Pygmalion/My Fair Lady being able to distinguish them all yet the entire catchment area covered probably only 30 miles or so.

When I lived up north I could distinguish between Bolton/Oldham/Blackburn and Liverpool/Wigan/Skelmersdale but now you're Mancs, Lancs or Scousers. There isn't much regional variation around here these days, Essex/Londonish have wiped out the Suffolk and Cambridge accents unless you go really rural.

There's always Mavis to listen to if you want to hear a Suffolk accent

Hopefully somebody can record it and put it on here?

The publicity seems much better this time than last time, would you agree? Or were we just not tuned into it last time until a certain BA appeared on our screens?

Should be available to listen to via the website and app afterwards. My headphone jack has something wedged in it, I'll be prodding at it with a toothpick when I get home.

Welcome Ollie. Don't worry, you are not alone in feeling nervous as most of us had not posted on a thread like this before OG and here we still are almost two years later Grin.

Just saw the info about Radio 5 so have turned it on but don't know if it has already happened. They just said that they were discussing Cold Feet, Motherland and something else which wasn't OG so I have no idea. It might have been between 3pm and 3.30 pm if that's any help. I will keep listening and if I hear any confirmation I will let you all know!

Hi Ollie. Yes we were all a bit nervous about posting two years ago but we are quite in our stride now. Are you looking forward to tomorrow evening?

Loving all this sudden OG furore, on pins now for tomorrow night. What's the betting my little bleeders or DH will ruin it? Wish they'd all bog off and be brilliant elsewhere preferably 20+ miles away between 8-10pm

Welcome popsy nice to de-lurk isn't it? Hopefully you'll be admiring the dramatic drama of the dramatisation of OG2 like me rather than the sex on legs Captainy toppest totty nick rich rhu and pix shallowly go for Grin

P.S. what a lovely set of photos. BA seems much more confident about promoting OG this time - but I suppose it's all down to experience - it's nice to see.
