Off to see my elderly friend with the very sick husband tonight. Have kept my distance for a while as she was winding me up and being bloody rude, keeping interrupting etc. Not sure how it will go this evening..... wish me luck.

Aha you know me too well mads Not much military types about but we got to see the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane fly.

We went down to the beach with the kids but by the time we got home we were all covered in sand. Yuck.

My elderly friend was on her best behaviour tonight so the visit went better than expected. She has also bought a tablet - on instruction from her 85 year old brother - but didn't seem to know too much about it. Her daughter (same age as me and who, if nothing else, does use a PC at work) hasn't offered any assistance. I helped her a bit, though we were short of time by this stage as the carer comes at 8.45 to put her husband to bed and sent her a couple of emails from my phone which she was thrilled about, especially as I'd added some photos in too.

This is the elderly lady who, when I mentioned this thread almost 2 years ago, said "It's not porn is it?" Best keep quiet about it as she now has the facility to look at it any time she likes!

Off to bed now.

I am currently enjoying the Strictly Prom on iplayer and thinking of a few people I'd like to see on the next series. Shame we can't propose/vote for the dancers we'd like to see.

A mixture of classical pieces and show/film tunes but all very upbeat and some great dancing (Aliajz sp?, Janet, Kevin, Joanne. Giovanni & Kev's wife whose name stupidly escapes me). I think it's worth a watch. I usually watch the John Wilson Orchestra proms which are great - show tunes, theatre, Sinatra etc but they're not doing one this year.

Will have to pause it in a minute to watch Musketeers.
