We tend to watch everything with subtitles these days as dh has some hearing loss but won't wear hearing aids! It is useful for the odd things that are hard to understand and also for the music where often they identify the song. The soundtrack was a huge part of the last series for me, I hope it's as good again.

I enjoyed Cold Feet last night - looking forward to seeing the rest.

So the long awaited series 2 arrives tomorrow and I have a sixth form evening to attend at my son's school. Lucky me! Hoping to be able to watch with a slightly delayed start.

Just had a look at it ice and love it. A fittingly appropriate tribute to all that followed.

Ooh I might have to try and catch cold feet then. Didn't watch it as loved the original so much I didn't know how I felt about them redoing it but will give it ok. Thanks! Smile

Cold feet was great nick - wasn't sure what to expect, but really enjoyed it!

That's true rhu, I'm hoping it won't be too predictable, but I'm definitely sure it'll be brilliant :-)

Nickel the people talking about it on the radio this afternoon absolutely loved it and apparently it was trending at no 1 on twitter at 10pm last night. I didn't see it but am persuaded to give it go now. I used to like the original series but was a bit too excited about OG to give it a lot of thought.

Looks like this thread may well expire tonight ice. Have you got something really sparkly and spectacular up your sleeve for thread 38?

Did anyone watch cold feet yesterday? I've recorded it but not seen it yet, but was it good?

It's probably just us being such experts on the entire series one that every little detail that emerges seems like quite a lot to us whereas to someone who paid less attention or none at all to OG - hard to believe but possible - it would seem like very little information at all. I'm beginning to realise what it must be like to be a hardcore Star Trek fan now Blush. Oh and I don't doubt there will be plenty of stuff that TG has up his sleeve to get us gasping and pondering Grin

Afternoon all Smile hi ollie! Welcome.
Hoping to catch up with the radio interview later... Still figuring out what's going on with the archers so seem to always have headphones in my ears, I'm blaming you for that pix! Wink

I agree Nickel that there seems to be a lot of the storyline out there at the moment much more than I expected and certainly much more than the last series. They probably just want to maximise the audience for episode one and hopefully after that everyone will be slightly more tight lipped about what happens next. Or am I being very naive here?

Ah, thanks ice I'd come to the conclusion eventually that 'beardy boy' wasn't speaking English and the ominous music suggests he was up to no good. I've also just realised that his mother is played by the actress who played Tommy Lee Royce's junkie mother in Happy Valley - well I think so.

I think the understanding thing is probably me not getting my ear properly tuned in which is difficult when the conversation is swapping between CJ and Georgie as there are two quite different accents going on. When I watched Happy Valley I didn't struggle very much because I suppose they were all speaking in a similar way throughout if that makes sense. Could just be my ears of course Confused

No spoilers please, I've worked really hard at not reading anything, I want to see what happens as we go through. It already feels like the media is intent on letting us know the whole story. Sorry.

He was speaking a foreign language, his character will be central to the whole series

The first few things she said in the prequel I had to listen to several times before I "got" what she was saying. Also, the guy whose mother was packing his T shirts who looked a bit like a troll - was he speaking English or was it some foreign language? I honestly didn't know what he was saying at all.

Well I listened but each time I read or listen I find out just a snippet more - not sure how I feel about that before tomorrow. I know we were talking about accents but I really am having to concentrate very hard at times to make out what MK's saying - I feel a bit thick but I'm not sure if it's accent or just her delivery - I don't mean that to sound like a criticism because I often find this with other actors or sound levels or something - I might just go for subtitles to be on the safe side which will cover all eventualities including unwelcome interruptions - woof just barricade yourself in and don't let them persuade you to open the door no matter what they say is happening!

Ditto Rhu I much prefer an experienced Captain. Hopefully he's going to totally own that headset and low slung belt this series, and hopefully ram them in our faces.

Nick I think we both know how deep you like it are.

Pix rest assured I'm nothing if not a very thorough researcher when it comes to calculating the size of Poldark's dibber whilst up against that wall and plastered in Cornish grime

Don't know what you mean woof ... shallow? I'm definitely thinking very deeply about it.

Hi Ollie, I felt exactly the same, I've never posted on any threads before either. Smile

After watching the clip and interview that Ice posted yesterday, as well as some of the other things I have seen, I think I may have some sort of idea how it's all going to come together. Looking forward to tomorrow night to see if I'm right. Not long to wait now!
